The boy's eyes darted quickly towards Yan Zhenghao, as if seeking help.
Yan Zhenghao said, "He doesn't speak English, he must have come here illegally."
Axe spoke several languages, but the boy remained silent.
When Axe spoke Spanish, the child finally responded.
Axe asked, "What did you steal?"
The men below immediately handed the item from the boy's hand to Axe – a large sapphire.
Axe said, "You're quite skilled. Do you want to hear a story?"
Axe waved his hand, and the men released the boy. Axe then put his arm around the boy's thin frame and led him back to the study.
Indeed, Old Tang's favorite walking stick was carved with a lion, and that lion was now missing an eye.
Axe said, "Do you know? I stole these two gems myself years ago."
Axe sounded a bit boastful.
"To curry favor with the master here, I had them set into this walking stick, and that's how I gained my current status."
"Young man, what trust are you trying to earn by stealing from me?"
The boy replied, "I'm sorry. If you let me go, I swear I haven't stolen anything else."
Axe placed the sapphire back onto the walking stick and returned it to its original position.
At this moment, Yan Zhenghao brought over a bag made of torn clothes and threw it onto the floor. It contained countless pieces of jewelry and ornaments, many of which were clearly from Michelle's jewelry box, each piece incredibly valuable.
The boy seemed to be trembling. He had intended to steal these items and find an opportunity to escape, but he had inadvertently stumbled into the study and was deeply captivated by the two sapphires. He regretted his greed.
Someone had already raised a gun, pointing it at the poor child. This was not a place where one could steal and then simply walk away.
The boy kept apologizing, tears streaming down his face. He was terrified and begged them not to kill him.
Axe asked, "I heard you stole something from my wife. Where did you hide it?"
The boy replied, "That beautiful sister?"
Axe said, "You call me uncle, but her sister?"
Axe chuckled, but he found the boy quite clever and even began to like him. There weren't many thieves who could read people so well.
The boy said, "If you let me go, I'll take you to find it."
Just then, Michelle returned. The alarm system in the room was safely disarmed, and the surroundings became bright again.
Michelle asked, "What are you all doing?"
Axe replied, "We're looking for your lost things."
