Lu Wanqing taught Cui Cui several methods for knitting small animals. Cui Cui was a very clever child. After only one lesson, she mastered the techniques. Although the small insects she knitted were still a bit clumsy and not as refined as her mother's, their shapes were recognizable.
After a long rest, the rabbit meat was also purified. Lu Wanqing stood up, walked to the basin, and began preparing lunch.
It was a shame there were no seasonings. Otherwise, roasted meat, spicy rabbit cubes, or spicy rabbit heads would have been delicious.
However, Earth was vast, and Lu Wanqing was not discouraged. She looked forward to exploring further places with Cui Cui in the future.
Those things must exist on Earth; she just didn't know if they could be found where she and Cui Cui were currently staying.
The rabbit meat soup was ready. They each had a bowl and, after eating their fill, cleaned up their belongings and returned to the cave to rest.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the forest, a chimpanzee that bore some resemblance to a human seemed to have gotten lost, arriving from a more distant location.
The great ape's gait was different from that of ordinary humans. It moved with leaps and bounds, possessing a sturdy physique, and ran at a remarkable speed through the forest, creating a gust of wind wherever it passed.
The little black snake, coiled on a treetop, was momentarily stunned when it saw a great ape approaching. Even as the empress of the insectoids, it found itself staring blankly at the approaching creature.
The great ape, or perhaps Zhong Li Feiyu, was also quite bewildered. He had disguised himself well and ventured out to scout. His intention was to first find the insectoid empress. If he could capture the insectoid empress alive, he could use her to threaten the insectoids, compelling them to retreat and release Lu Wanqing and Cui Cui.
Having interacted with insectoids for so many years, Zhong Li Feiyu deeply understood the significance of the insectoid empress to her kind. He knew that if the empress were in danger, all insectoids would strive to save her at all costs.
However, he had searched for a long time, and even as he neared Lu Wanqing's cave, he had not found the insectoid empress.
During Lu Wanqing's livestream, there had been no sign of the insectoid empress. Could it be that the insectoid empress was not near Lu Wanqing?
Zhong Li Feiyu was puzzled.
His intuition told him it was unlikely; he simply hadn't discovered her yet.
The great ape continued to roam the forest, searching for the insectoid empress.
In the afternoon, Lu Wanqing resumed building the house, intending to complete the roof by the end of the day.
Building a house was a complex task, and Lu Wanqing decided not to involve Cui Cui, as she was a delicate young girl.
Seeing that her mother didn't need her help, Cui Cui picked up her bow and arrows and went to practice hunting in the nearby forest.
Time passed slowly. This scene, which could have been mundane, saw no reduction in the number of viewers in the livestream.
Both humans and insectoids across the entire interstellar community were captivated by the warm and simple scene.
In the forest, after numerous failures, Cui Cui's arrow flew true. The next moment, a bird's cry was heard, and with a thud, a small bird the size of a pigeon fell from a tree.
Cui Cui's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed excitedly, "I hit it!!!"
Cui Cui was so delighted that her shout was almost a loud cry. Lu Wanqing, who was diligently working on the roof, looked up towards Cui Cui.
It wasn't just Cui Cui who was happy; everyone watching the livestream couldn't help but cheer for her.
"Princess Cui Cui is amazing! She can shoot prey in just a few days!"
"So impressive! I'm going to record this video and replay it later. This is Princess Cui Cui's highlight moment!"
"Ahhh, the sister above is awesome! I was so engrossed in watching that I forgot to record. If anyone recorded it, please share it online! Thank you so much!"
On the treetop, even the little black snake's beady eyes showed a hint of surprise. This human cub had learned to hunt so quickly. Truly, she was worthy of being his daughter.
Cui Cui picked up the bird from the ground and ran quickly towards the house. Reaching the base of the house, she couldn't help but hold the bird high and say to her mother in the tree, "Mom, look, I shot a bird!"
Lu Wanqing saw it too. She was surprised and pleased. "Cui Cui, you're amazing!"
Cui Cui's eyes shone brightly; she was very happy.
"Mm," Cui Cui nodded.
Cui Cui took the bird back to the cave and soon returned with her bow and arrows to continue hunting.
However, hunting was not easy. Cui Cui had only just begun to learn, and succeeding once was already excellent. She did not achieve another success for the rest of the afternoon.
But Cui Cui was not discouraged. She felt she could practice slowly in the future, as she had already made progress.
Lu Wanqing checked the time and, feeling that it was about right, climbed down from the roof, picked up her bow and arrows, and hunted another bird.
"Mom, I'll process the bird. You can continue building the house," Cui Cui said while cleaning the bird.
Lu Wanqing chuckled, "Can Cui Cui already clean a bird?"
"Yes!" Cui Cui replied affirmatively.
She had been with her mother for a while now. During this time, she had seen her mother doing these tasks almost every day. Occasionally, she would help out, and as she participated more, she naturally learned.
"Okay," Lu Wanqing smiled and ruffled Cui Cui's hair.
"Today, Mom won't do anything. Mom will just watch from the side while Cui Cui learns to process it herself. If Cui Cui can process it independently without hurting herself, then Mom will entrust this task to Cui Cui in the future," Lu Wanqing said.
"Mhm, mhm!" Cui Cui nodded enthusiastically.
Lu Wanqing kept her word and did not interfere, except for using her abilities to add some clear water to the pot when it was placed. Everything else was done entirely by Cui Cui.
She gathered dry firewood and dead leaves, then started a fire, boiled the water, and finally put the two birds in to scald them before taking them out to pluck their feathers.
Throughout this process, Lu Wanqing worried that she might accidentally injure herself, but she didn't.
Cui Cui was a little slow, but she performed each step well. The only issue was when scalding the birds; some parts were overcooked, causing the skin to tear off with the feathers when plucked. Other parts were not scalded enough, and the feathers were difficult to remove, requiring forceful pulling.
"This looks a bit strange," Cui Cui frowned, puzzled.
Lu Wanqing smiled and said, "It's nothing. You're trying this on your own for the first time, and you've done very well. If you try a few more times, you'll get the hang of it."
Cui Cui looked at her mother and said happily, "Yes, I'll be more attentive in the future!"
