"The recent geopolitical landscape has changed dramatically; the Federation, the Empire, and Tianxing have all united. If we were to wage war against them, do you know what the consequences would be?" the Zerg Empress questioned with a chilling voice.
Qing Zhu pursed his lips, unwilling to concede. "But they bullied Your Majesty so much, I cannot bear it!"
Your Majesty was his goddess, and the deity of all Zerg. Their queen, whom they respected and wished to worship, had been humiliated by mere humans. He could not swallow this insult.
"Am I more important, or is the entire Zerg race more important?" She Wanwan's voice finally held a hint of anger as she suppressed her fury and interrogated him.
Qing Zhu responded without hesitation, "In your subject's heart, Your Majesty is more important than anything else in this world."
What was the Zerg race compared to that?
The Zerg race was merely the sphere in which they lived.
He was willing to remain here because of Her Majesty, the Empress he admired most!
If Her Majesty were no longer here, what concern would the destruction of the Zerg race be to him?
The Zerg Empress narrowed her eyes slightly, gazing at Qing Zhu.
Qing Zhu continued, "Not only does this subject think so, but I believe most Zerg citizens think the same. In our hearts, Your Majesty surpasses all else."
The Zerg Empress was suddenly rendered speechless. This was the Zerg's innate nature. From some unknown point, all Zerg citizens began to worship the Empress. She was their everything. Wherever the Empress was, so were they.
It could be said that the Zerg race existed because of the Empress. If the Empress were to die one day, the Zerg race would likely scatter, each going their own way, paying no mind to the others.
"Foolish! If the Zerg race perishes, what good will it do me even as Empress?" She Wanwan reprimanded after a moment of silence.
"Beneath a collapsing nest, where can intact eggs remain? Qing Zhu, you must understand that without the Zerg race, even I would eventually die," She Wanwan stated coldly.
The Zerg race was one entity. Only by uniting could they resist humanity. Otherwise, the entire Zerg race would, like three thousand years ago, become prey for humanity, powerless to retaliate!
Qing Zhu's expression finally shifted, and he looked at the Empress with concern.
She Wanwan said solemnly, "Humanity is not what it used to be. They are united now. If we rashly provoke them and give them an excuse for war, the Zerg race will be in grave danger."
"Then what should we do?" Qing Zhu asked anxiously.
She Wanwan stared at Qing Zhu.
Qing Zhu, agitated, stood up and said, "I will recall the troops immediately."
"Can you recall them?" She Wanwan's tone was indifferent.
Qing Zhu froze.
She Wanwan said, "Abandon it."
Qing Zhu was shocked. "Your Majesty..."
She Wanwan returned to her desk, her voice faint. "If there is nothing else, you may leave. I need to continue processing documents."
Qing Zhu hesitated for a moment before finally agreeing, "Alright."
Qing Zhu left quickly, so he did not see She Wanwan put down her documents after his departure and gaze intently at his retreating figure, lost in thought.
After a long while, She Wanwan opened her personal terminal and made a few simple operations. A small, multicolored snake, like an electronic pet, crawled onto her terminal.
"Master, that Ouyang Yunduo is useless. After so much effort, she can't even get close to Lu Yang and Lu Wanqing. There's no way she can help us eliminate Lu Wanqing," the Zerg main intelligence, Sha Huang, grumbled angrily.
If Ouyang Yunduo were present, she would realize that the voice speaking to the Zerg Empress was the same artificial intelligence that had been instigating her to target Lu Wanqing.
She Wanwan looked at the electronic snake, her brows deeply furrowed.
Lu Wanqing must die, not for matters of love, but for the sake of the entire Zerg race!
The most crucial unifying link for the three human factions was Lu Wanqing. If Lu Wanqing died, it would be far easier to sow discord between the Federation and the Empire, thereby posing less of a threat to the Zerg.
She had initially thought Ouyang Yunduo would be an excellent blade, but she hadn't expected Ouyang Yunduo's brother, Ouyang Jian, to be so troublesome. Ouyang Yunduo's actions were constantly restricted. Continuing to waste time on this pawn, they would likely never have the chance to completely eliminate Lu Wanqing.
"Withdraw for now, and cease all operations temporarily," She Wanwan commanded.
She had intended to use Sha Huang to manipulate Ouyang Yunduo into dealing with Lu Wanqing. However, she hadn't anticipated that Qing Zhu's side would also act. The simultaneous efforts from both sides made Ouyang Yunduo's actions appear too abrupt, which directly led to human suspicion.
Humans were the most intelligent race in the entire galaxy. When interacting with them, even the smallest mistake could lead to exposure.
"By the way, Master, Lu Wanqing and Lu Yang have conceived another child through genetic cultivation. I've noticed something unusual about that child," Sha Huang added.
She Wanwan was surprised. "Unusual?"
The electronic snake, perched on the terminal, nodded anthropomorphically as it looked at the colossal Zerg Empress. "Yes, I feel that child... sometimes seems too intelligent, as if not a normal human infant."
"Master, I suspect humanity has evolved again. The infants they cultivate in the future might be even more intelligent than before," Sha Huang warned.
She Wanwan's expression immediately turned grim. Three thousand years ago, it was precisely because of the vast intellectual gap between the Zerg and humans that the Zerg were constantly suppressed.
Fortunately, after the global mutation, a portion of the Zerg also became smarter. Through years of effort, they had gradually improved the Zerg's living environment and protected them from further persecution by humanity.
But now, humanity... was evolving again?
"How is she so intelligent?" She Wanwan wondered, her voice becoming serious.
Upon hearing this, Sha Huang quickly sent some secretly recorded video clips to She Wanwan's terminal and then ran a program to open them automatically.
She Wanwan's gaze intently followed the child in the video. This child was so small, so soft, and somehow... inexplicably made her want to touch it.
Younglings were indeed the most adorable creatures in the entire galaxy, even humans.
She Wanwan felt herself nearly softening, but she quickly regained her composure and controlled her emotions.
After watching a few videos, She Wanwan understood what Sha Huang meant by "becoming intelligent."
In fact, it wasn't just Sha Huang who was shocked; even she was startled.
Had human younglings truly evolved to be this intelligent? Then in the future... would humanity become even more... adorable?
Some thoughts were best left unexplored. The more she thought, the more uneasy she became.
Humans were not meant to live. They had to be dealt with as soon as possible.
