"Wanqing, it's best not to give your Super 3S mechs to anyone outside the Federation," Mu Jie warned sternly after a brief silence.
"What do you mean?" Lu Wanqing asked, bewildered.
Mu Jie explained, "Super 3S mechs hold an extremely high status in the interstellar world. If too many fall into external hands, surpassing even the military's arsenal, it would pose a massive hidden threat to the Federation's safety. Not only would the Seven Great Legions object, but the entire high command of the Federation would also disapprove."
If an individual could bring immense benefits and advantages to a nation, that nation would protect them. However, if their abilities were used for outsiders, endangering the country, then that individual would become an enemy of their nation, with the entire Federation viewing them as such.
Lu Wanqing: "..."
Only then did Lu Wanqing truly understand. She nodded calmly, "Okay, thank you for the reminder. I'll be careful."
Mu Jie looked at Lu Wanqing and couldn't help but say, "Wanqing, the Imperial Capital is truly the safest place. If you're willing to return to the Mu family with me, I can guarantee no one will dare to harm you."
Lu Wanqing was speechless upon hearing this. Why did the conversation always circle back to this?
Lu Wanqing thought for a moment, then looked up at Mu Jie and said earnestly, "Si Jie, I've always considered you a friend."
"You... are not my type," Lu Wanqing stated.
She had rejected Mu Jie before and made her feelings clear. She was surprised by his persistence. However, after so long, he still hadn't given up, so she felt compelled to remind him again.
Mu Jie paused for a moment, but quickly regained his composure. He smiled and asked, "What kind of person do you like?"
What kind of person did she like?
She pondered carefully but found no answer.
"I don't know," Lu Wanqing said seriously after thinking for a long time.
Lu Wanqing looked into Mu Jie's eyes and said earnestly, "Perhaps when I meet him in the future, I will know."
Mu Jie: "..." He felt a little hurt.
"Alright," Mu Jie said after a pause. "So, we're friends from now on?"
"Yes," Lu Wanqing replied.
Mu Jie was silent for a long time before finally saying, "Then, when you meet that person in the future, you must tell me immediately."
Lu Wanqing looked at him in surprise.
Mu Jie also lowered his gaze to meet hers. His eyes were gentle, yet held a hint of sadness. "I want to see what makes him better than me."
"Pfft." Lu Wanqing couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Okay," she agreed. "When I meet him in the future, I will tell you first."
Mu Jie sighed softly and raised his hand, as if to affectionately ruffle her hair as he used to. However, he eventually lowered it.
He actually didn't want to give up, but...
It had been nearly three years, and he felt he was starting to understand her personality. Once she decided she wouldn't like someone, she would never turn back, right?
His constant insistence on not giving up was only making her feel awkward.
It was better to agree to her wishes, as she had suggested, so she wouldn't carry such a heavy psychological burden.
*
In the days that followed, Lu Wanqing resumed her relentless work schedule, spending her days in the Super 3S mech studio, diligently polishing parts.
It had been a while since she had done such work, and she felt a bit rusty. However, it wasn't a major issue. After a couple of days of adaptation, she clearly regained her former skill.
Time flew by, and another half month passed. During this period, her courtyard house was also renovated. The rose bushes in the yard, stimulated by growth enhancers, had flourished. Both the house and the yard were beautiful.
Little Yu Shu suddenly fell in love with the courtyard. She took a walk in it every day and every evening, she would ask her mother to relax with her on the swing in the yard.
Another month later, Lu Wanqing finally finished polishing all the parts for the seven Super 3S mechs and was ready for assembly.
Concurrently, the ancient Earth honeysuckle that she and Yu Nong had cultivated began to grow. Yu Nong meticulously observed it daily with genetic analysis instruments, constantly vigilant against any mutations.
However, there were none. The honeysuckle grew exceptionally well, exceeding everyone's expectations.
Lu Wanqing also spent a short time each day checking on them. Each inspection yielded similar results: the honeysuckle was thriving, and its genes showed no signs of mutation.
Everything was proceeding so smoothly that it made Lu Wanqing feel a little disoriented. But since it was on her own planet, she supposed she didn't need to be overly anxious.
Finally, Lu Wanqing put aside her unease and returned to assembling the Super 3S mechs.
She spent a week assembling all seven Super 3S mechs.
Mu Jie was greatly shocked to learn that she had completed all seven Super 3S mechs in just over a month. He rushed to Water Land Star as quickly as possible and met Lu Wanqing again, along with the seven Super 3S mechs she had built recently.
Lu Wanqing was exhausted. She handed the seven space buttons containing the Super 3S mechs to Mu Jie, and then her vision went black as she fainted.
Mu Jie was startled and quickly rushed to support her, or perhaps, to hold her.
However, at that moment, Mu Jie felt no romantic stirrings. His mind was a blank; he simply couldn't process it.
Lu Wanqing had already shown him the mech blueprints, which they had discussed and revised together. Yet, he had spent so much time and hadn't managed to build even a single Super 3S mech, while she had built seven in just over a month?
Was this... the difference in spiritual power?
Mu Jie quickly carried Lu Wanqing back to her room and placed her on the bed to rest.
Little Yu Shu had gone out to treat someone else's plants. The moment she returned home, she heard that her mother had fainted. Terrified, she rushed upstairs anxiously.
Bursting into the room, she saw her mother lying motionless on the bed. She cried out anxiously, "Mommy!"
Mu Jie quickly stopped the child and reminded her in a slightly hoarse voice, "She's fine."
Little Yu Shu looked up at Uncle Mu.
Mu Jie looked down at Little Yu Shu. He hesitated for a moment before explaining, "Wanqing is just very tired. She needs to rest now, so don't disturb her."
Little Yu Shu understood now and quickly nodded, "Okay, okay."
Lu Wanqing slept for a full day. When she opened her eyes, she felt a bit disoriented. She instinctively reached out, trying to find her space buttons.
She had finished building the seven Super 3S mechs. Where were they?
However, she soon remembered that she had notified Mu Jie. Mu Jie had come, and she had given him all seven space buttons.
"Mommy!" Just then, Little Yu Shu ran in from outside.
Lu Wanqing looked towards the doorway and saw her daughter rushing towards her like a little cannonball.
Lu Wanqing instantly smiled and extended her arms to embrace her daughter, "Shu Shu!"
Little Yu Shu quickly kicked off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and hugged her mother, saying, "You've been working too hard lately, so hard you fainted. I was so worried about you."
