Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Su Qinglan is in need of Holy Water

Rong Ye watched from the side, his eye twitching dangerously as Su Qinglan shamelessly rubbed her entire body against that striped tiger.

He could almost see smoke coming out of his ears.

Seriously?!

What was so great about that tiger? He was just a big cat; he was not cute or elegant...just a huge beast and full of hard muscles.

Rong Ye’s snow-white tail swished angrily behind him as he huffed. "Tch. What’s so special about him? He’s not even half as beautiful as me!"

He lifted his chin proudly, his white fur gleaming under the sunlight. The elegant purple tips of his fur shimmered softly as he walked, looking every bit like a creature made of moonlight and magic.

If beauty could kill, Hu Yan would’ve been buried ten times already.

"Humph, stupid female," Rong Ye muttered to himself as he glared at Su Qinglan’s back. "She’s clinging to that tiger like she’s never seen real beauty before! Her eyes must be worse than those ground fruits she calls potatoes! Blind...completely blind!"

If it were other females, they would be screaming to ride him! They’d be begging, fighting even, just to touch his perfect fur. But this one? This blind little female dared to ignore his stunning self?!

Absolutely unforgivable!

Fine. If she couldn’t see beauty, then he’d show her beauty!

With a snort, Rong Ye walked ahead, deliberately slowing down just enough to make sure she had the best possible view of him from behind.

’Hmph! Let’s see how long she can pretend not to notice!’ he thought proudly, throwing a smug glance over his shoulder.

But Su Qinglan... didn’t even look up.

She was still busy patting Hu Yan’s back and mumbling something about "how soft and warm" he was.

Rong Ye’s face twitched.

He couldn’t stand it anymore. As they walked deeper into the forest, his six tails began to act on their own. They snaked around behind him, trying to brush lightly against Su Qinglan’s ankles, just enough to get her attention.

Except... every single time his tail got close, Hu Yan’s big tiger tail would swing around and smack it away.

Thwack!

Rong Ye’s ears perked up. He tried again.

Thwack!

The tiger didn’t even look at him. His golden eyes stayed forward, but his tail kept moving like he was defending her from some ferocious beast.

Rong Ye glared at him and thought, "You overgrown cat!!"

Hu Yan didn’t completely ignore him. He just flicked his tail again, this time hitting Rong Ye right on the nose.

Rong Ye jumped back with a snarl. "You...!"

Su Qinglan blinked in confusion. "Hm? Did someone say something?"

Both tiger and fox instantly fell silent.

"No, nothing," came Hu Yan’s deep, rumbling voice.

Rong Ye quickly looked away, pretending to admire a tree. "Y-yeah, nothing at all."

Han Jue, who had been silently walking behind them, let out a quiet sigh.

He looked at the ridiculous scene in front of him...one tiger trying to ignore the female clinging to his back, one fox twisting his body like a dancer to show off his fur, and one female who had no clue there was a silent battle going on around her.

"...Have they both lost their minds?" he muttered under his breath.

The white wolf’s ears twitched as he shook his head helplessly. "For a female," he sighed, "they really have."

Watching their foolish actions, he knew that the task of protecting her was now only on him. If he relied on them, they would probably get attacked by wild beasts or other species without even noticing.

And even then, those two fools would still be busy fighting for her attention instead of saving their lives.

So he decided to take the task of protecting them from behind on himself. While they were busy showing off and fighting, he silently scanned every corner of the forest. He looked for any sign of danger, any strange noise, or any movement in the bushes.

He did not know what kind of place Su Qinglan was trying to find, but the idea of building their own home made him excited too. If her plan really worked, their tribe would have a bright future. They would not need to beg anyone for a place to stay in another tribe anymore.

He was willing to support her till the end. Deep inside, he hoped she could truly find a way to build a real house.

For him, building a home was a great and respected thing. He had only heard that in beast cities, people had their own houses and no one lived in caves. But those people kept the secret of how they built them. Even the Bird Tribe did not build houses; they lived near the cliffs, where the edges gave them natural shelter.

They lived high on the mountains and had a wide view from above, but he and his people were not like them. They could not fly or climb too far up.

They had no choice but to live in caves near the foot of the mountains. During rain, they were the most helpless ones.

So this time, he truly wished that Su Qinglan could make her idea real. If she could build even one strong shelter, it would change everything for their tribe. And for that hope, he was ready to protect her with all his strength.

On the other hand, Su Qinglan was completely lost in her fantasy; it would be a lie to say that after sitting on his beast body, her imagination had not run wild.

Before she realized it, her brain had gone completely offline. Her thoughts were running wild in all the wrong directions. She even caught herself imagining what those hard muscles would feel like if she accidentally tripped and fell on him...purely by accident, of course.

And even going as far as to imagine that night, where she was trapped...Ahem...

Then she noticed something horrifying. A little drool had escaped from the corner of her lips.

"Oh my god, Su Qinglan!" she scolded herself, quickly wiping it away. "Get a hold of yourself, woman! You are a respected female, not a starving wolf!"

"She needs some holy water to cleanse her mind."
