Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Let’s Go Home, Forget Dad
Ian Keane furrowed his little brows: Daddy, are you serious? If you do this, you will lose your wife, and I will lose my mommy.
Mrs. Keane held Ian’s tiny hand and bid farewell to Old Mr. Quill.
Old Mr. Quill was puzzled. His disciple merely sent Kiki to the hospital and would still come back. There’s no need for the Keane lady to say goodbye just because she’s going to check on things!
Without figuring it out, Mrs. Keane left with Ian.
Old Mr. Quill looked at Ivana Monroe beside him and belatedly realized her face didn’t look good.
"Ivana! Leon just took her to the hospital and will come back. Please treat this place like your home and don’t feel restrained!" Old Mr. Quill worried Ivana might feel uneasy the first time she was there, especially since Leon wasn’t around.
"Okay." Ivana forced a smile at Old Mr. Quill, but her smile was tinged with bitterness.
Old Mr. Quill noticed and wanted to say something more?
Timmy Monroe pouted and said, "Mommy, let’s go home. We don’t need this daddy."
Old Mr. Quill understood the innocence of children, but seeing Timmy’s serious expression, Timmy’s words still made him break out in a cold sweat.
Old Mr. Quill said, "Without your daddy, there wouldn’t be you! Timmy, children shouldn’t say they don’t want their daddy!"
Timmy grabbed onto Ivana, looking unhappy with his handsome little face: "All he did was plant a seed in my mommy’s belly. It was mommy who carried me for ten months and gave birth to me. He hasn’t raised me a single day, and now, he’s embracing another woman making my mommy unhappy. I don’t want this kind of daddy."
Old Mr. Quill was shocked. Do kids these days understand this much?
The facts of conception and pregnancy, crystal clear.
Listening to Timmy, Old Mr. Quill couldn’t help but feel Leon might indeed be in the wrong.
Wait, Leon seemed to be doing this because Kiki twisted her ankle.
Old Mr. Quill tried to explain to Timmy: "Kiki’s father and your grandfather were lifelong friends, so you should call Kiki ’auntie.’ It was only because her foot was hurt that your daddy carried her..."
Timmy frowned, interrupting Old Mr. Quill: "I won’t call her auntie. Can’t you see, Master Grandpa? She’s pretending! Deliberately throwing herself at my daddy to upset my mommy?"
Old Mr. Quill was taken aback.
Timmy added: "Would an adult really fall while just standing there? And conveniently right into my daddy’s arms? Only an idiot couldn’t see through such a cheap trick."
Old Mr. Quill’s old face reddened. Apparently, he was an idiot as he hadn’t seen through it.
Thinking about Timmy’s words, Old Mr. Quill realized there might be some truth in them. With a heavy heart, he said to Timmy: "Good little disciple, you’re right. When your daddy comes back, Master Grandpa will give him a good scolding."
Timmy nodded earnestly, sweetly saying, "Master Grandpa, you’re the best."
Old Mr. Quill was instantly overjoyed.
He looked at Ivana again and finally understood that Ivana’s poor spirits weren’t due to feeling awkward but because of Leon holding Kiki.
Old Mr. Quill may not understand the intricacies of romantic feelings, but he did know one thing— once you have a wife and a child, as a man, you must take responsibility for them. Only then can you pursue other matters with a harmonious family.
Leon Keane’s actions, obviously, were causing family discord.
Old Mr. Quill favored Ivana as Leon’s wife. He decidedly sided with her, saying: "Ivana, don’t be upset. When Leon gets back, I’ll have him promise you not to touch other women outside in the future."
Seeing Old Mr. Quill’s sincere gaze, Ivana felt a warm current pass through her heart. Although Old Mr. Quill wasn’t her real family, his eyes were like those of a grandfather, shielding and caring for her.
Her nose tingling with emotion, Ivana tried to control herself and not let her eyes burn: "I’m not mad, Old Mr. Quill, don’t say anything to him. He knows how to handle things."
Old Mr. Quill retorted: "Handle what? If he knew how, he wouldn’t have carried Kiki out. The Keane family has drivers and bodyguards, why did he have to do it himself?"
Outside.
Leon carried Kiki directly towards the Rolls-Royce parked by the Keane family.
The driver opened the back door.
Leon placed Kiki inside.
Kiki thought Leon would get in the car, but he turned around to leave, making her heart sink. She quickly grabbed Leon’s arm, her eyes reddened with tears on the brink, as she spoke with grievance: "Brother Leon, where are you going? My foot really hurts."
Leon looked coldly at her hand, his lips slightly moved: "Am I a doctor?"
Kiki was taken aback. She clearly saw Leon’s expression turn cold at that moment but still couldn’t bear to let go, lowering her voice: "Brother Leon could take me to the hospital; it really hurts."
Leon said impatiently, "Let go."
Carrying Kiki out was also a result of the spat with Ivana. He wanted to prove he meant something to her, but it only left him feeling cold.
Leon now, enveloped in agitation, had no interest in dealing with Kiki.
Kiki’s tears began to fall. She knew that if she loosened her grip, he would just turn around and head to Ivana.
That was when,
Mrs. Keane’s voice came, timely: "Leon, why aren’t you getting in the car? Quickly get in and take Kiki to the hospital."
Kiki secretly rejoiced; Mrs. Keane had come at the perfect moment.
But unexpectedly,
Leon suddenly yanked Kiki’s hand away, turning his tall figure and was about to leave.
"Ah~ Brother Leon..." Unwilling to let go, Kiki reached toward Leon’s back, hoping to embrace him firmly.
This time, Kiki wasn’t so lucky. It was as if Leon had eyes on his back; he sidestepped, and Kiki’s body hurdled outside the car.
Kiki fell flat on her face.
Had she not rushed to latch onto Leon’s back, she wouldn’t have fallen so embarrassingly. Her fair, long legs, with one foot stuck on the rear car door edge, while the other bent frog-like, the slit of her cheongsam shredded, revealing her white thigh and skimpy thong.
The driver and bodyguard were stunned, staring intently at Kiki—was this really such an outfit?
Mrs. Keane’s eyes nearly popped out, hurriedly covering Ian’s eyes lest her precious grandson’s eyes be tainted.
Mrs. Keane, a conservative woman, couldn’t reconcile with seeing Kiki dressed like this; she began questioning reality. Outwardly, Kiki appeared a refined young lady, yet how could she wear such provocative underwear?
Besides, Kiki had just turned eighteen this year.
Kiki knelt painfully on her knees, with tears rushing down uncontrollably. She cried aloud. Leon, disgusted, simply frowned, ignoring her. It was the bodyguard who reached out to help her up.
"Miss Kiki, are you okay?" the bodyguard asked with concern.
"Leave me alone," Kiki shoved the bodyguard away as she wept, looking for Leon: "Brother Leon..."
Ian dragged down Mrs. Keane’s hand and pointed to Kiki’s bleeding knee: "Grandma, her knee’s got a big hole. You and the driver should take her to the hospital. I’m hungry. I want to stay with Daddy at Grandpa Quill’s for lunch."
