Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Come Home Quickly, There’s Trouble at Home
Ivana Monroe told Ivy Linden that she ordered three thousand pieces of the fashion item on the cover from Meggie Olsen’s factory, averaging out to about a thousand pieces for the best-selling sizes.
Since there were other fashion items to order, she couldn’t bet everything on one item, and right now, "GK" really didn’t have much money. Of all the custom-made clothes, there were less than ten thousand pieces, and Ivana had only paid a small deposit; the rest were on credit notes.
Meggie is a great person. If it were anyone else, they wouldn’t agree to let her owe money and produce them at their own expense.
"What? Only three thousand pieces? That’s not enough to go around!" Ivy swore she would post Ivana’s numbers on Yiren Magazine’s Weibo; it would cause an uproar.
Idol goddess, why are you producing so few? If you need money, just tell me! I have money; I can invest in you!
Ivy revealed her thoughts.
Ivana already owed Ivy a lot. Such investments are risky, so she wouldn’t proactively ask Ivy, but with the current situation being different — the explosive comments on "Yiren Magazine" already indicated that the fashion piece would sell out immediately upon release, ensuring a profit.
This is the charm and value brought by traffic.
Ivana immediately agreed with Ivy, "Alright, you invest money in shares, and I’ll give you equity."
Ivy was taken aback and hurriedly refused, "No, no, idol god... ahem, Ivana, I didn’t mean that. I just wanted to loan you the money first; once you start earning, you can just pay me back."
Ivana said, "You can invest for equity. If it’s just a loan, then let’s not talk about it."
Ivana’s attitude was firm, leaving Ivy conflicted. She wanted "GK" to develop quickly, but Ivana wouldn’t accept her help unless she was buying into shares, which meant sharing Ivana’s money!
Ivy hesitated for a long time before agreeing with Ivana, "Okay then! I’ll invest ten million for shares."
"GK"’s fashion line just started to show promise; Ivy wanted to help Ivana capitalize on the momentum. If the fashion pieces were in short supply just as they hit the market, it would dampen everyone’s enthusiasm.
After all, "GK" isn’t a big brand that could play the limited edition game in Ravenswood. People’s enthusiasm was geared towards brand effects, and those big brands have long been ingrained in the upper crust’s minds, in socialite wannabes.
What Ivy thought was exactly what Ivana thought too; using Ivy’s money to make a fortune was not something Ivana could do; investing for profit would be a win-win.

At school dismissal time, Ivana went to pick up Timmy Monroe, but she didn’t see Ian Keane.
"Wasn’t Ian with you?"
"Uh-huh, Brother Ian doesn’t talk to me anymore."
Timmy lowered his head after speaking, clearly upset.
Ivana felt a strange sense of loss in her heart; it was her fault, she had hurt that child, and it affected the brotherly bond between Timmy and him.
"I’m sorry," Ivana whispered an apology to Timmy.
"Mom, don’t be sorry; you didn’t do anything wrong." Timmy suddenly lifted his little face and looked at Ivana seriously, his clear eyes slightly red.
He believed Mom had her difficulties; it was Ian who couldn’t understand her. Although Timmy also really liked Brother Ian, if he had to choose between the two of them.
Timmy would, without hesitation, choose Ivana.
Ivana was preparing to take Timmy home when her phone suddenly rang. Seeing the caller, it was Butler Chaucer.
An hour ago, she had called Butler Chaucer, saying she’d take Timmy to the old house to see Grandpa tomorrow. Why was Butler Chaucer calling now?
Ivana swiped the screen to answer, "Uncle Chaucer."
It was noisy on Butler Chaucer’s end, like people arguing.
Butler Chaucer urgently said to Ivana, "Miss, can you come back now? Something’s happened at home."
Hearing that something had happened, Ivana’s heart sank suddenly, "Okay, I’ll come back right away, Grandpa he..." She didn’t dare to continue the question.
Butler Chaucer sighed, "The old man is okay for now, it’s just those ungrateful brats, they want to drive him to death. Miss, you’ll see when you get back."
After hanging up, Ivana took Timmy to catch a cab.
"Mom, are we going back to Great-Grandpa’s house now?"
"Uh-huh, something happened at home; we have to return earlier."
"What happened?"
"Mom doesn’t know either."
About an hour later, Ivana brought Timmy to the Monroe family old residence, the Chinese-style villa, familiar iron gates unchanged from six years ago.
Ivana walked into the old Monroe family residence, and the familiar scents from memory hit her.
"Wow, is this Great-Grandpa’s house? Such a large villa! About the same size as Brother Ian’s house," Timmy exclaimed in wonder.
The Monroe family residence couldn’t compare with the Kane family residence, but in a child’s pure world, things were just things, not judged by worldly standards of which villa was more valuable.
Outside, Ivana could hear the arguing from the living room of the old residence.
"Jean Shaw, do you have no shame? The eldest already wants to divorce you, and you still have the nerve to come to the old man and fight for the inheritance?"
"If she had any self-respect, she wouldn’t have dropped out of college to mingle with the eldest, now facing abandonment is her karma, and she still dreams of seizing the old man’s property, wishful thinking!"
"Adelaide Monroe, Kimberly Monroe, Sylvia Monroe, you three bitches. Are you ganging up on us mother and daughter? Don’t forget that right now, I’m still married to Caleb Monroe, I have the right to fight for the inheritance, even if divorced, Michelle is still a Monroe, she’s equally entitled to the old man’s estate."
"Gramps, listen, this woman named Jean is so shameless; even after a divorce, she wants to covet your property. I say we should call the eldest over and divide the property equally..."
Gavin Monroe sat in a wheelchair, looking rather unhealthy. His wrinkled face, white eyebrows furrowed, and his head throbbed from all the arguing. Inside, his anger boiled, wishing to explode.
He had exploded before, but with age, his authority wasn’t as it used to be; his children increasingly disregarded him.
Gavin ignored Adelaide Monroe, instead looking coldly at his second son... Julian Monroe.
This was his good son, doing whatever it took for the family inheritance, disregarding his old father’s health, coping with all their fussing? He was silently watching his wife employ such despicable means to get him to divide the lineage.
Julian cowered under Gavin’s angry gaze, like a turtle retreating, he wasn’t unfilial! The old man was so old, and Jean Shaw was fiercely vying for the inheritance, in the past, he raised a son, gave the old man a grandson, if the old man apportioned more of the assets to Lucas, wouldn’t everything be fine?
