Chapter 194: He Even Dares Touch His Brother’s Wife?

Chapter 194: Chapter 194: He Even Dares Touch His Brother’s Wife?

The police asked Ivana Monroe, "Did you stab his hand?"

Ivana was slightly stunned. Before she could say a word, a man in the crowd shouted loudly.

"Officer, we all saw it. Black Tiger was harassing her first and even pulled a knife on her. This pretty lady was just defending herself."

"Isn’t there a crackdown on crime going on right now? Scum like Black Tiger should be wiped out completely."

"Kicking him until he’s injured internally was light punishment. With a menace like Black Tiger, he deserves to be kicked to death."

The crowd overwhelmingly sided with Ivana Monroe and Leon Keane, pleading their case. Black Tiger’s influence in this area wasn’t significant, just a few lackeys around him doing extortion and harassing decent women.

This kind of person, sending him to prison for a while is a blessing for everyone.

The police smiled, indeed, the people’s eyes are sharp. He tapped Black Tiger on the head, "See? You’re just a rat that everyone wants to beat up. Come with us! Continue your jail time."

Black Tiger yelled loudly, "This isn’t fair! How can the police wear colored glasses and side with the good guys?"

The police laughed collectively, "If we don’t side with the good people, should we side with you, the bad guy?"

The cold gleam of metal handcuffs clicked shut around Black Tiger’s wrists.

The officer turned to Ivana Monroe and Leon Keane, "Could I trouble you to come back to the station to give a statement?"

"Give what statement?" A voice rang out.

Howard Yeats appeared within the police’s line of sight.

"Ye... Mr. Yeats..."

The Yates family is red third generation, his father holds a high position. But Howard Yeats himself had no interest in politics and ventured into the film industry, thriving quite successfully.

Except for the newcomers, no one in the police didn’t recognize this Mr. Yeats.

Howard Yeats walked over to Leon Keane and said to the police, "Do you know who this is?"

The police looked Leon Keane up and down, feeling that this man was too handsome, with an aura suggesting he was someone important, but they really didn’t know who he was.

Howard Yeats said, "He’s the CEO of the Kane Group in Ravenswood... Leon Keane."

The police were shocked, "Oh, sorry for the disturbance."

Howard Yeats pointed at Black Tiger on the ground, "This trash has got a lot of nerve, thinking he can go after my buddy’s wife?"

The police were shocked once again, their view of Ivana Monroe changed, she... was Leon Keane’s wife?

Ken Mercer and Lionel were simultaneously surprised, staring intently at Ivana.

She is the woman Leon Keane can’t handle?

Ken Mercer’s gaze flickered with a hint of desolation that went unnoticed even by himself. Just when he became slightly interested in a woman, she turned out to be his good buddy’s wife. The unspoken rule not to mess with a friend’s wife meant he had to quash that interest right there.

Black Tiger, upon hearing Leon Keane’s identity, looked as if all the blood had drained from his face, white as a sheet, with a heart sinking to beg Leon Keane and Ivana Monroe for mercy.

"Ma’am, I didn’t know you were Leon Keane’s wife!"

"If I had known, even if you gave me a hundred guts, I wouldn’t have dared to touch you!"

The police, recovering from their surprise, proclaimed righteously to Howard Yeats and Leon Keane, "Rest assured, sirs, once we take this trash back, we’ll make sure he turns over a new leaf."

Howard Yeats smiled, "Go ahead! Teach him a lesson tonight."

The onlookers knew in their hearts that scum like Black Tiger, from now on, wouldn’t have the chance to harm them again.

Leon Keane came to Ivana Monroe’s side, directly lifted her up by the waist, causing a collective gasp from the crowd.

"Dominating CEO, this is so cool!"

"What are you doing? Leon Keane, put me down." Ivana’s cheeks turned slightly red as she pounded his chest with her small fists, like scratching an itch for Leon Keane.

Seeing this, Leon Keane’s thin lips curled into a smile. Still able to fight, not bad, her hand wasn’t injured, the blood belonged to Black Tiger.

Ivy Linden saw Leon Keane about to leave with Ivana, hurried after them, walking so fast that her feet didn’t obey, losing her balance and tumbling towards Leon Keane.

Ivy Linden closed her eyes in distress, thinking it was the end, when a hand grabbed her in time, pulling her into a man’s embrace.

Ivy Linden opened her eyes to see Howard Yeats’s handsome face looking at her mischievously, smiling.

Ivy Linden felt a chill as he looked at her, suddenly pushing him away, taking a few steps back, and once again losing her balance. When Howard Yeats reached out to her again, she instinctively swung her hand to shrug it off.

Her tailbone hit the ground, causing her to wince in pain, tears welling up in her eyes.

Howard Yeats’s polished shoe tips appeared in front of Ivy Linden, he extended a hand to her again, with long, clean fingers reaching out but not pulling her up forcibly.

"Miss, the ground is cold. If you’re hurt and want to cry, stand up and cry."

Ivy Linden wanted to cry, she was hurt, she felt wronged, why not cry? Yet when Howard Yeats said this, she swallowed her tears, not wanting to cry, avoiding giving this pesky man the pleasure of seeing her as a joke.

Ivy Linden slapped his hand away, stubbornly stood up, and snapped at Howard Yeats, "You are the miss, your whole family is! Stay away from me."

Howard Yeats stood dumbfounded, watching Ivy Linden’s retreating back, petite and sultry, possibly due to the pain, her hips swaying as she walked, extra seductive.

Howard Yeats chuckled playfully.

This woman... is a little interesting.

Is she Ivana’s friend?

Now that she knows his relationship with Leon Keane, she should have guessed his identity wasn’t simple, yet she still avoided him like a plague. Feigning indifference? Or really doesn’t care about him?

Ken Mercer had just finished his call, seeing Ivy Linden leaving, he asked Lionel to follow her.

Lionel adjusted his silver-framed glasses, "Why me? I have no interest in her and no habit of tailing women."

Ken Mercer replied, "Just because of that, you’re the perfect candidate, don’t talk nonsense. She’s the wife of my grandfather’s old comrade’s junior, go quickly."

Lionel: "..."

The wife of your grandfather’s old comrade’s junior, that’s quite far removed, why do you care so much?

Howard Yeats frowned, she was married?

Ken Mercer’s initial focus was on Ivana Monroe, ignoring Ivy Linden. Until just now, the more he looked at Ivy Linden, the more familiar she seemed, as if he’d seen her somewhere before?

Then he remembered, at his grandfather’s 80th birthday, he had seen Samuel Lockwood bring Ivy Linden along to attend.

Ken Mercer wasn’t familiar with Samuel Lockwood, they had exchanged numbers but never contacted each other. If Ivy Linden hadn’t sparked his memory, he might have forgotten about Samuel Lockwood.

Ken Mercer patted Howard Yeats on the shoulder, "Howard, you can play with anyone you want, just not her, Samuel Lockwood is not someone to mess with."

Howard Yeats laughed, "What’s so great about Samuel Lockwood? If I really wanted to play with her, I wouldn’t be afraid of Samuel Lockwood."

Ken Mercer frowned, thinking this wasn’t good, it put him in a difficult position, caught between a buddy and an old family acquaintance.

Ken Mercer smirked, "When did Howard’s taste become so heavy? You don’t mind a woman who’s been someone else’s wife for years? And still can stomach it?"
