Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Help Me Make Money, Waste of Talent
Allen is about thirty-something, with a very artistic black beard on his chin, wearing a trendy jacket and ripped jeans, smiling as he warmly reaches out to Ivana Monroe.
"Hello." Ivana gave a token handshake and quickly withdrew her hand. She glanced at Isaac beside Allen, slightly frowning. Why did this man come?
Isaac winked at her.
This unserious man.
Ivana shifted her gaze, intending to ignore Isaac.
"This is my good friend... Isaac. Thanks to him, I discovered that Ravenswood has such an impressive fashion team led by Ms. Monroe." Allen was quite excited when he said this, unaware of the unpleasant incidents Ivana had with Isaac before.
"Hi~ Ms. Monroe, pleased to meet you." Isaac smiled, extending his hand to Ivana, acting as if it was their first meeting.
He sure knows how to pretend.
"Hello." Ivana also acted as if she didn’t know Isaac, replied blandly, but didn’t extend her hand for a handshake with Isaac.
Isaac isn’t someone who gives up easily.
Isaac kept his hand extended, smiling: "Ms. Monroe, you shook hands with Allen, but not with me. Is it because you think my hand is dirty?"
"What if I go and wash it?"
"The restroom is just around the corner on the left."
Isaac was embarrassed; he was just joking, but Ivana really asked him to wash his hands!
Isaac shrugged helplessly, looking at his clean fingers; well, if washing is what he must do!
Allen’s eyes shone with curiosity. Why did he feel Isaac and Ivana already knew each other? Was there some relationship between them that he didn’t know about?
Allen watched Isaac leave and said in surprise: "Ms. Monroe, you’re amazing. This is the first time I see Isaac shut down."
Ivana smiled awkwardly. What’s so amazing about this? She just didn’t want any more dealings with Isaac.
Isaac returned from washing his hands, and Allen had already wrapped up discussions with Ivana.
Allen appreciated Ivana’s design talent. He was straightforward, directly buying out three sets of fashion design drawings for spring, summer, autumn, and winter from Ivana at the highest market price, totaling six million.
Ivana took out the contract, signed the agreement, and Isaac, seeing the contract, was also shocked... Six million? That price is so high.
Allen processed the down payment and got the contract, feeling good: "Hope we have a pleasant cooperation, and please consider my proposal. It won’t cause any loss to GK. On the contrary, it will bring GK a hefty income every year."
Ivana smiled and said: "I will consider what you said."
Allen’s eyes lit up: "Great, then I’ll go back and wait for Ms. Monroe’s good news."
Isaac came out with Allen, frowning: "You discussed it too quickly! I just took a moment to wash my hands, and you’ve finished talking with her?"
"What else?" Allen raised his eyebrows, looking at Isaac, who seemed not too happy. He amiably put an arm around Isaac’s shoulder and smiled suggestively: "Isaac, honestly, are you interested in chasing that Monroe beauty?"
Isaac elbowed Allen hard in the chest, making Allen cry out and let go.
Isaac’s expression turned somewhat odd, disdainfully saying: "Who wants to chase her? She’s Zachary Heston’s ex-wife, and she holds a grudge against the Heston family. I wouldn’t seek that trouble."
Allen clutched his chest. Isaac’s elbowing was not gentle.
"Then why did you run over here with me today, hanging around her?"
"I want to contract her to make money for me."
"Aha! Contract her?" Allen disagreed strongly, shaking his head: "She’s a fashion designer, not trained in performing arts. You should look for your contract prospects at a film academy. But definitely not Ivana Monroe... Isaac, don’t go finding Ivana to lure her into the film industry, that would be a waste of talent, I’m telling you."
Ivana was in her office, opened her computer, and searched for local real estate prices. The price for the villa in grandpa’s area had already reached over ten million, and she only had three million, hardly a fraction.
If she waits for the new designs to hit the market and sell out hugely, she might make that much.
However, the earliest the new designs could be launched in the market is in half a month, and selling them will take more time, which she couldn’t predict now.
She feared she couldn’t wait too long.
Grandpa is getting old, and really can’t handle the stress like this. The earlier the property is donated, the better for grandpa.
But.
Once grandpa’s villa is auctioned, she must prepare enough money to buy it back.
Ivana suddenly thought of a person. She picked up the phone, ready to call for some advice.
Suddenly, an incoming call appeared on Ivana’s screen.
Ivana frowned slightly and answered the call: "Hello."
Caleb Monroe scoffed on the phone: "Hello? You can’t even call me Dad anymore?"
Ivana asked, "What do you want? If there’s nothing, I’ll hang up."
Caleb was infuriated: "Did you call everyone to grandpa’s house yesterday? Shamelessly asking grandpa to divide the estate? And did you put your Aunt Jean in the hospital over the inheritance issue?"
"Ivana, are you heartless? Come back now, apologize to your Aunt Jean first, then go to the old house and beg grandpa for forgiveness."
If it were the past, Ivana would have been disappointed, angry, and furious.
But now, Ivana realized there was no emotion besides feeling cold.
Ivana was calm and chuckled lightly: "Was it Jean Shaw who said this? Or Michelle Monroe who told you?"
Caleb shouted in anger: "Such disrespect! Jean Shaw is your elder. How can you call her by name directly?"
Ivana said: "Whose elder is she, she’ll never be mine."
Caleb’s lungs hurt with anger, gritting his teeth: "Ivana."
Ivana’s voice turned cold: "Don’t call my name with such force, and don’t preach to me. The old Ivana died six years ago. Did you ever care about her life or death? Did you shed a single tear for her?"
Ivana’s heart trembled uncontrollably. She took a deep breath and continued: "Twisting facts has always been Jean Shaw’s specialty. Having soft ears has always been your weakness. Even if I tell you now that the truth is opposite to what Jean Shaw told you, you’d still choose to believe Jean Shaw, not me."
Caleb was stunned, thinking of six years ago when Ivana suddenly disappeared.
Actually, he did worry.
Due to Jean Shaw whispering tentatively to him, without knowing when, he began to feel very dissatisfied with Ivana, thinking she was reckless, embarrassing him, and wasn’t as sensible as Michelle.
Caleb realized suddenly that he seemed to become more unfamiliar with the daughter named Ivana. He always thought he understood her enough. Actually, he never understood her at all.
