Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Not Her Biological Child
Ivana Monroe looked at the bartender again, "Are you the one who called me?"
The bartender shyly nodded.
Ivana took out a thousand dollars for him, "Thank you."
The bartender wanted to refuse, but Ivana put the money on the bar.
Ivy Linden suddenly started acting up, "I’m not going back, I want to drink, I haven’t had enough. Oh, idol goddess, drink with me!"
Ivy tapped the bar with her finger, already completely drunk, nodding and shaking her head, "Make a drink for my idol goddess, the kind I just ordered... Blue Passion, ten glasses, I want to drink freely with my idol goddess."
Ivana shook her head at the bartender, and the shy bartender nodded to Ivana and turned away.
Ivy caused a scene, "Don’t go, what do you mean? Afraid I can’t pay? Come back... I want a drink..."
Ivana hugged her, pulling her up, frowning, "Ivy, stop it, come back with me. If something is bothering you, you can tell me, and we can solve it together."
Ivy had already drunk too much, and the smell of alcohol was all over her.
Ivy suddenly turned red-eyed, with hot tears streaming down, curling up in Ivana’s arms, her body trembling constantly.
"I don’t want to go back, Ivana, please don’t send me back, I’m begging you."
Seeing Ivy like this, Ivana felt a sudden heartache. Why was Ivy so afraid to go back? What exactly happened at her home?
"Alright, I won’t send you back, I’ll take you to my place."
"No... he knows where you live, he’ll come looking. Ivana, I’ve booked a private room here, accompany me to the room."
Ivana helped Ivy into the private room, where a love song was playing on a loop. Ivy’s limp body hit the sofa, and she started crying out loud.
Ivana sat quietly next to Ivy, waiting for her to cry enough and vent. Ivana turned off the love song, and suddenly only Ivy’s sobbing was heard in the room.
Ivy laid her face on Ivana’s lap, sadly saying, "Ivana, do you know? It turns out... I can’t have children."
Ivana was very shocked, the news came too suddenly, and it was explosive.
Ivy’s eyes, red, shed tears again, her face showed utter heartbreak, and her lips trembled non-stop, "I never knew, I am a woman who cannot have children."
"When I married Samuel Lockwood, we did a premarital checkup at the hospital, there was nothing wrong with my body. I still remember when I was pregnant with Nicole, my belly was protruding. But... how suddenly... I can’t have children? Was I only imagining a pregnancy?"
Seeing Ivy in such pain, Ivana felt a twinge in her nose, her eyes itchy, with scorching liquid shimmering.
Ivana tried to say calmly, "Nicole’s facial features resemble yours somewhat, maybe things aren’t as bad as you think."
Ivy suddenly laughed, but her smile was filled with pain, "That’s what I thought initially too, but the paternity test results she brought showed... Nicole isn’t my biological child."
Ivy started crying again, her cries filled with such pain as if the sky had fallen.
Ivana was extremely shocked, "Who is she? Who told you about this result?"
Ivana instinctively felt that this person was definitely not Samuel Lockwood; Samuel cherished Ivy. Ivana had only met him a few times, but every time she could see from Samuel’s eyes his fondness for Ivy.
Who exactly told Ivy these things? That person told Ivy this information, trying to break up Ivy and Samuel!
Ivy cried out, "It was my mother-in-law... Samuel’s biological mother."
Ivana was incredulous. Ivy and Samuel had been married for so many years, their relationship was deep. Why did Samuel’s mother suddenly come out to wreck their relationship?
Ivana sharply remembered Zachary Heston, that jerk, initially loved her too. But Zachary’s mother never approved of her, and later, because of the appearance of Michelle Monroe, she and Zachary ended completely.
Could it be that someone like Michelle Monroe had appeared beside Samuel too? Is that why his mother dared to tell Ivy these things and force her to step aside?
Ivana’s phone suddenly rang, it was an unfamiliar number.
Ivana didn’t feel like picking up anybody’s call, so she hung up. The caller rang again, and Ivana hung up again. The person was persistent.
Ivana became a little annoyed, about to turn off the phone when suddenly a message popped up: Pick up, I’m Samuel Lockwood.
Samuel Lockwood? How did he get her number?
Instead of calling Ivy’s phone, he called hers, how interesting.
Ivana’s gaze turned slightly cold. When the other party dialed again, she answered.
Samuel spoke in a hurried voice, "Ivana, Ivy is with you, right? Where are you two now? Tell me."
Ivana, seeing Ivy so hurt, couldn’t suppress her anger, "You’re ridiculous, you’re Ivy’s husband, calling me to ask where she is?"
Samuel was about to go mad with anxiety. Hearing Ivana’s tone, it was clear she was blaming and intending to make things difficult for him.
Samuel shouted angrily, "Ivy misunderstood me, instead of helping to persuade her to return, you’re talking to me like this, what kind of friend are you?"
Samuel’s voice was loud, Ivy heard it.
Ivy reached out, grabbed Ivana’s phone, with red eyes, she yelled at the man on the phone, "Who do you think you are to yell at my idol goddess? Aren’t you always listening to your mother? Go live with her! Why come to me?"
Upon hearing Ivy’s voice, Samuel breathed a sigh of relief, "Ivy, don’t say such anger-inducing words! Mom is getting old, you should be more understanding of her. You know how I, Samuel Lockwood, treat you, come back!"
Ivy was in tears, "You mean... no matter what your mom does to me, I should understand her? Even if she forces me... to let an outsider give you a son."
Samuel frowned, "Mom wouldn’t do that, Ivy. That is just a wrong assumption from you. You can’t falsely accuse our mom!"
Falsely accuse?
Ivy laughed bitterly, Samuel’s mother came for the "grandson" this time, breaking the perfect relationship between her and Samuel. Samuel’s mother had also personally requested this of her, saying if she couldn’t deliver, she’d have to leave the Lockwood family.
Ivy said through gritted teeth, "What if... your mom told me this herself?"
Samuel shook his head, "Impossible, mom wouldn’t say such a thing to you. You left abruptly, it was mom who called me, urging me to find you. Mom is really worried about you, she also cares about you a lot."
"Ivy, I beg you, stop causing trouble. Mom and I are very worried about you. Where are you? I’ll come to pick you up now."
Ivy closed her eyes, tears uncontrollably flowing, utterly disappointed in Samuel. Had he forgotten how his mom had opposed her being with him back then?
