Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Forever Happiness, Growing Old Together
After all, Leon’s mother would soon be her mother-in-law. She didn’t want them to meet like enemies.
Leon’s mother really hated her. It had only been three years, and she set the time because she didn’t want to get too deeply involved and wanted to leave gracefully when the time came.
The two of them walked into the civil affairs bureau.
The staff were immediately attracted by the handsome couple.
There weren’t many people registering for marriage on Monday, just a few pairs of young couples.
It wasn’t long before it was Leon Keane and Ivana Monroe’s turn.
"Did you bring your household registration book and ID card?" The staff member, a woman nearly forty dressed in professional attire, asked with a rather serious expression.
"Yes, I did." Ivana replied.
Leon took out the household registration book and ID card from the inside pocket of his suit and tossed them in front of the woman.
Ivana extended hers with both hands.
The woman glanced at Leon, thinking that although the young man was good-looking, he was really impolite. In contrast, Ivana’s polite and proper manner stood out.
The woman first opened Ivana’s household registration book and looked at the ID card. The photo on the ID card had been taken during college, with Ivana wearing a ponytail and no trace of makeup, her beauty so pure, her eyes like stars able to speak.
The woman couldn’t help but look up at Ivana. She almost looked the same as the photo on the ID card; she was a natural beauty, unlike some girls these days who look stunning but make the woman, an old auntie, doubt her perception when comparing the ID card photos.
The woman put down Ivana’s ID card and opened Leon’s household registration book.
After taking a look, the woman’s hand shook. Wasn’t this Leon Keane, the president of Kane Group?
She respectfully returned the household registration book and ID card to them and gave each a "Marriage Registration Application Statement."
"If you need any help, I am at your service."
The young couple who had already taken their wedding photos came out and heard how courteous the clerk was speaking, and couldn’t help but glance more at Leon Keane and Ivana Monroe.
Who were these handsome people? The clerk who is usually very strict was now being so respectful and polite to them?
"Thank you." Ivana smiled and expressed thanks.
Ivana’s warm gesture relieved the woman, who was just a normal staff member in Ravenswood, while Leon stood at the top of Ravenswood’s societal pyramid, and most ordinary people would feel intimidated seeing him. Especially earlier when Leon had tossed his household registration book and ID card at her.
She would wonder if she had done something wrong and offended this influential figure?
If that were the case, losing her job would be a simple matter for Leon.
"No need to thank me, no need," the woman said hurriedly.
Once the registration was complete, the two went to take photos, set against a red backdrop. Leon wore a white shirt today; he had removed his coat, instantly transforming into a refined gentleman.
Ivana planned to go to work after this and hadn’t dressed particularly beautifully; she was in formal attire with a light yellow blouse underneath.
Leon handed Ivana a paper bag: "Go change in the restroom."
Ivana was stunned, took the paper bag, and discovered inside it was a woman’s white shirt, with a style identical to the one Leon was wearing.
Ivana’s face turned slightly red: "No need, this outfit is fine for the photo."
Leon smiled and leaned closer to her ear: "Yes, but we should. Honey, if you’re shy about changing in the restroom, I can ask the staff to arrange a room so your husband can personally help you change, how about that? Judging from the expressions and attitude of the registration staff earlier, they probably recognized my identity."
Ivana’s face felt like it was on fire, she quickly said, "I’ll go change in the restroom myself."
When Ivana returned after changing shirts, Leon was sitting on the sofa drinking coffee, and another cup of steaming coffee was on the small round table opposite him.
A middle-aged man, smiling broadly like a Buddha, stood beside Leon.
"Changed?" Leon asked knowingly, holding the coffee, his dark eyes remaining fixed on Ivana.
Ivana looked stunning in the white shirt, her back cascaded with glossy black hair, her delicate face just adorned with lipstick, exuding natural and elegant beauty.
Leon seemed to see the girl sitting in the sunshine on Ivana’s Weibo; she herself was bright sunshine, dazzlingly radiant.
His dark eyes did not blink as he gazed at Ivana.
Feeling slightly shy, Ivana walked over and gently said "Mm."
"Have some hot coffee! We can take the photos afterward." Leon didn’t want to take his eyes off her, handing his coffee to Ivana, forgetting he had already drunk nearly half of it.
"I’m not thirsty," Ivana shook her head, declining.
Only then did Leon realize he was offering her his leftover coffee, and seeing Ivana’s refusal, he did not press further.
The middle-aged man couldn’t hold back: "Is this Mrs. Keane? Nice to meet you, I’m William Wyatt, the deputy head of the civil affairs bureau."
Ivana was surprised, wondering why a deputy head personally came?
"Hello."
Leon and Ivana took their photos.
William clapped the young man holding the camera: "Are you Lewis? Make sure to take good photos of Mr. and Mrs. Kane."
Lewis, feeling honored, replied, "Absolutely, absolutely."
"Mrs. Kane, please lean your head closer to Mr. Kane, more intimately."
"Still a bit far, come closer for better effect."
"That’s right, just like that, hold it... smile."
Click.
With the photos taken, Ivana felt her tense heart suddenly relax and moved away from Leon.
Ten minutes later, two red booklets were personally handed to Leon and Ivana by William Wyatt.
"Mr. Kane, Mrs. Kane, wishing you eternal happiness and a long life together."
"Thank you."
The mighty Leon finally parted his lips to say a polite word to William Wyatt.
William was pleasantly surprised and personally saw them out.

Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, General Ward.
"Ivy! Mom wants to eat your braised eggplant today. Our home isn’t far from here; why don’t you go home and make some braised eggplant for Mom?"
"Mom, I don’t know how to make braised eggplant!" It takes an hour to drive home from here, not to mention waiting for red lights, it takes at least two to three hours back and forth! How is that not far?
"Ah, you little daughter-in-law, your mother-in-law was even praising you this morning, said you make wonderful dishes, especially the braised eggplant you make, which she loves most. We advised her to eat less greasy food due to her age, but then you suddenly say you can’t make it?"
The aunt in the next bed said.
"Aunt Lu, this daughter-in-law just wants to be lazy, doesn’t she?" The young woman in the third bed sneered.
