Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Is Daddy Really Going to Marry Mommy?
"Sorry, Uncle Joyce, Ivana is allergic to lilies, we can’t have them in the ward. Let me take care of the lilies for you."
Who’s this Ivana?
Ivana’s cheeks flushed slightly as she watched Leon Keane’s back. Why did she feel like Leon Keane was jealous?
Leon Keane jealous of Uncle Joyce?
This thought left Ivana a little shocked.
"Daddy, Daddy, Timmy wants to go with you." Timmy Monroe climbed down from another bed, ran to Leon Keane’s side, and holding hands, they went to discard the lilies.
Leon Keane walked out of the ward, feeling a hint of delight inside. Timmy was indeed wonderful. At the crucial moment, he called him "Daddy" instead of "Uncle Kane."
Leon Keane looked down at the little boy. With ointment on his face, his complexion had returned to fair. The little boy looked up too. Their eyes met and exchanged a smile, the kind only shared between father and son.
Silas Joyce saw the little boy. Once the father and son walked out of the ward, he felt a bit complicated, a bit melancholic.
Silas Joyce turned, picked up the supplements, placed them on Ivana’s nightstand, and forced a smile. "I didn’t expect the child’s father to be Leon Keane. Ivana, seeing your family so happy now, Uncle Joyce sincerely wishes you well."
Ivana frowned, her lips twitched. "Thank you, Uncle Joyce."
She didn’t explain, nor did she have anything worth explaining to Silas Joyce. Leon Keane is Timmy’s father, but she and Leon Keane aren’t married. Such an explanation would be strange and embarrassing for Ivana.
As if the unbearable past from six years ago was being cruelly unearthed.
After chatting briefly with Ivana, Silas Joyce mentioned he had things to attend to and left.
Leon Keane and Timmy Monroe returned after discarding the lilies, making Silas Joyce’s continued presence inappropriate.
Ivana didn’t urge Silas Joyce to stay.
As Silas Joyce left, he glanced at Timmy Monroe, slightly startled. The little boy was very handsome, almost like a miniature version of Leon Keane.
Silas Joyce’s heart was stung hard once more when he saw Timmy Monroe politely smiling at him and calling him "Uncle."
Silas Joyce nodded stiffly and made a hasty retreat.
To truly like someone, perhaps that’s what it is. Clearly wishing to sincerely bless her, thinking he’d be happy if she was happy, but when truly faced with her child, faced with her man...
Silas Joyce realized he couldn’t accept it all at once.
The pure, beautiful smile of the little boy was like a needle that pricked his heart, constantly reminding him that Ivana belonged to someone else now.
"Mommy, what’s with that Uncle Joyce? His smile was weird! And the way he ran out was weird too!" Timmy Monroe blinked his clear eyes and naively asked.
Ivana didn’t know how to answer Timmy Monroe. Silas Joyce had feelings for her, especially strong today, even if she were blind, she could feel it.
"He knows your mommy is with daddy, so he ran away sad," Leon Keane said without any hesitation.
"Leon Keane." Ivana glanced disapprovingly at Leon Keane. Could he not speak like that in front of the child?
It was so impolite of him! And what was Leon Keane gloating about?
"Is that so?" Timmy Monroe nodded knowingly, then pouted and said to Ivana, "Mommy, now that you’re with daddy, you can’t accept love from other men, okay? Because daddy would be sad."
Ivana blushed deeply, surprised as she watched the precocious Timmy Monroe. How could he understand love between a man and a woman at such a young age?
"Who said I’m with your daddy..." Together?
Ivana hadn’t finished when Leon Keane interrupted her, flicking Timmy Monroe’s straight nose.
"Don’t worry! Your mommy isn’t someone who plays around. She chose your daddy and will only be with your daddy for the rest of her life." Leon Keane’s lips curled upward, his words directed at both Timmy Monroe and Ivana.
Ivana furrowed her brows. When had she ever told him she chose him?
This man was not only domineering but also twisted the facts before the child, spouting nonsense.
"Yay, yay, mommy can finally be with daddy." Timmy Monroe cheered happily, then tilted his little head and asked Leon Keane, "Daddy, when do you plan to marry my mommy?"
"Timmy Monroe, come here." Ivana could no longer listen, unable to interrupt the thick-skinned, domineering man Leon Keane, but she could call her son.
Timmy Monroe obediently returned to Ivana’s side.
"Don’t ask Uncle Kane such questions again. These things are matters between adults, okay?" Ivana’s cheeks flushed repeatedly. She used "Uncle Kane" instead of "your daddy," hoping the little boy understood she hadn’t accepted Leon Keane yet.
"Mommy, Timmy understands." The little boy lowered his head, the light in his clear eyes dimming.
Ivana’s heart twisted with a bit of pain. Her heart ached for the little boy, understanding he admired Leon Keane and longed for a complete family.
But the world of adults was never as simple and pure as a child imagined, and she wasn’t ready to become Leon Keane’s wife.
"Timmy." Suddenly, Leon Keane called out to the little boy.
The little boy lifted his sorrowful eyes, looking at Leon Keane.
Ivana also looked at Leon Keane at that moment, an ominous feeling creeping in. What did he want to say to Timmy?
"Daddy will hold a grand wedding with your mommy in October. Will you and Ian be the flower boys for mommy and daddy?"
"Really? Is daddy really going to marry my mommy?" The little boy’s sad eyes lit up with little stars again.
"Leon Keane." Ivana tightly furrowed her brows, trying to stop Leon Keane.
"It’s true, daddy’s words are as good as a promise." Leon Keane made a commitment to the little boy.
The little boy was extremely happy, cheering for quite a while in the ward. He then ran into the bathroom, saying he had to pee.
Leon Keane sat by Ivana’s hospital bed, watching her bite on her lip. He reached out, releasing her lip from her teeth’s grasp.
"Leon Keane, why did you have to do this?" Ivana’s eyes turned slightly red. Why was he always so domineering, never respecting her wishes, making a promise to Timmy without discussing with her first?
Ivana could reject him now, could choose not to marry him.
But if Ivana really did that, it would be a deep hurt for Timmy Monroe.
Having his hopes crushed time and again, Timmy was just a six-year-old child who shouldn’t have to endure this.
"You are Timmy’s mother, and I am Timmy’s father. What do you think I should do? Find a stepmother for Timmy, or let you find a stepfather for him?"
Leon Keane laughed coldly. "You also fear the child getting hurt? What could be more hurtful in this world than the fact that a child’s biological parents can’t be together, and they must accept a stepfather or stepmother?"
