Chapter 144: You’d Better Know Your Place

Chapter 144: Chapter 144: You’d Better Know Your Place

"Nothing." Leon Keane withdrew his gaze, pulled Kiki Jennings’s arm away, frowned, and said, "Men and women are different, you’re a big girl now, don’t stick so close to men all the time."

Kiki loved the scent on Leon Keane, and being close to him made her feel she possessed everything, an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.

Kiki wanted to hug Leon’s arm again, but seeing his displeased expression, she refrained.

"Leon, you’ve misunderstood Kiki. Kiki wouldn’t be so close to other men, only to you." Kiki’s cheeks turned slightly red, her demeanor like a little girl, "Because you’re my Leon."

Leon didn’t want to continue with Kiki; he hadn’t forgotten why he was here.

"Let’s go!"

"Leon, I’m suddenly feeling a little sick in the stomach and need to go to the restroom. The table I booked is over there; do you see that cake stand by the table with three tiers of cakes? That’s it."

Kiki pointed in a direction where there was not only a luxurious three-tier cake but also three stylishly dressed girls about her age.

They were Kiki’s classmates. Seeing the exceptionally handsome Leon Keane beside Kiki, the three girls stared in awe and delight, whispered continuously, and cast admiring glances at Leon.

Kiki felt immensely proud but wouldn’t tell Leon that those three girls were her classmates at such a time.

She didn’t want Leon’s gaze to fall on any of her classmates; she’d wait until she came back from the restroom to talk.

Ivana Monroe pulled out the paper towel from the marble wall dispenser for guests to wipe their hands and dried the water on her face, not feeling as upset as before.

Seeing through Leon Keane now wasn’t it better? So she wouldn’t find herself stuck in the gentle trap he wove, utterly losing her heart, which would be truly excruciating.

Ivana threw the wet waste paper into the garbage can and turned to go to the restroom.

Kiki walked into the bathroom, saw Ivana, didn’t feel angry, smiled like a proud peacock, twisting her waist as she approached Ivana.

"What a coincidence! Leon came with me to celebrate my birthday, and we bump into you here?"

Kiki was here to show off to Ivana.

Ivana could sense it without thinking. She didn’t want to bother with Kiki and turned to go to the restroom.

Kiki’s shadow moved over, blocking Ivana.

"Ivana, I warn you, you’d better recognize your status. Leon is only playing with you out of novelty; the real person qualified to stand by his side and become his wife is me."

"You saw just now that Leon and I are very affectionate. If you don’t want to humiliate yourself, you’d best stay away from Leon in the future."

It’s best never to appear before Leon again.

Kiki hated Ivana deeply, and as she spoke these words, her eyes shot out cold rays of hatred.

Ivana frowned, very displeased with Kiki’s imposing attitude, even though she’d already decided not to fall for Leon’s deceit, she still wouldn’t let Kiki’s aggressive face win.

Ivana suddenly laughed, an enchanting smile.

Kiki’s face turned cold, "What’s so funny?"

Ivana’s eyes sparkled bright and clear, her charming gaze radiant and alluring, gorgeously beautiful. Her lips, though without lipstick, looked naturally radiant as if adorned with the world’s finest hue.

Kiki was maddened by jealousy.

Ivana laughed and said, "If you’re so confident about yourself, what’s the point in warning me? If you have the confidence to become Leon’s wife, you wouldn’t fear me taking Leon away and telling me to stay away."

"Moreover, whether I stay away from him or not, you haven’t become Mrs. Keane yet, so it seems you’re not qualified to manage me. However, you could ask Leon to terminate my contract as his companion."

"In this world, three-legged toads are rare, but two-legged men are everywhere. As long as Leon says he doesn’t care for me, I naturally won’t care for him either."

"So, little sister, you’d better go persuade your Leon to give up on me!"

Ivana was half a head taller than Kiki; she reached out and patted Kiki’s cheek and watched Kiki’s fair face turn the color of liver, Ivana felt pleased and gently pushed her shoulder.

"Good dogs don’t block the way. I need to use the restroom now."

Ivana straightened her back, proudly pushed open the restroom door, and went inside.

Kiki stared intently at the closed restroom door, trembling with rage, uncontrollably shouting outside, "Ivana, you shameless bitch, don’t be too proud. You’ll have your day of crying."

Ivana’s voice echoed from the restroom, "Okay, I’ll wait for you then!"

Kiki felt her lungs might burst from Ivana’s words, suddenly a malicious gleam flashed in her eyes; she raised her foot sharply and kicked Ivana’s restroom door.

Bam!

The unexpected noise startled Ivana and the woman next door.

"If you’re fighting, fight; why the evil door-kicking trying to scare people to death? Idiotic fool." The woman next door’s temper flared, cursing.

"Your whole family is dead." Kiki shouted maliciously at the woman next door, then fiercely kicked her restroom door several times.

She finished kicking and hurried away.

Kiki kicked the next door, Ivana also suffered, her heart thumping crazily a few times.

The woman next door hiked up her flared pants, opened the restroom door, eyes blazing, but the woman who kicked her door had already run away.

"It’s best not to run into me again, or I’ll rip that idiot’s mouth apart."

Ivana also came out of the restroom, seeing a woman with large curls, wearing a beige tank top, black flared trousers, this woman’s aura was excellent, standing there, it was apparent.

The woman’s arm was wrapped around a metallic Hermes bag.

Ivana immediately recognized the bag as a Hermes limited edition, absurdly expensive; this one could buy fifteen to twenty regular Hermes bags.

The woman flung her wavy hair, turning to look at Ivana, glared at her but said nothing, merely snorted in annoyance.

The woman stomped in high heels, washed her hands, shook the water off, then pulled out paper towels and wiped.

Ivana’s body got splashed by the woman, but she said nothing because she and Kiki argued, causing this woman to be innocently cursed and nastily wished her whole family dead by Kiki.

Ivana quietly turned on the faucet, washed her hands, waited for the woman to finish wiping and dispose of the damp paper before pulling out more.

"Your temper is quite good, so different from when you were sharp-tongued during the argument." She’d thought this woman was unpleasant too, but now she realized she was mistaken.
