Chapter 71: The Kane Family Is Your Home

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: The Kane Family Is Your Home

She defiantly thought: My aunt has been a nanny for most of her life but never caught the master’s eye or climbed into his bed. It’s the aunt’s own incompetence. Just watch, I’ll prove it to her. I’m Jessica Mason, and I’m not useless like my aunt. Sooner or later, I’ll make President Kane fall head over heels for me.

And when that time comes, I will definitely make my aunt, who mocks me now, serve me willingly.

The luxury car was on the road to Wellbright Kindergarten.

"Uncle Kane, will Mommy come to pick up Timmy from school today?"

"Well, I’m not sure. If Timmy is worried Mommy won’t come today, you can ride with brother back to the old house after school."

"Thank you, Uncle Kane. But Timmy misses Mommy. Timmy wants to go home tonight." The little boy looked pitiful. Then suddenly he said, "If Mommy doesn’t come to pick up Timmy tonight, Uncle Kane, let Uncle Stern take Timmy home!"

Leon Keane gazed deeply at the little boy. This child was sharp; from eagerly serving him porridge in the morning to this plea and acting pitiful—everything was a ploy to return to Ivana Monroe’s side.

"The Kane House is your home." Ian Keane, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up.

The driver upfront was stunned upon hearing this. Ian Keane, the young master, usually opposed other children, yet in just one day, did he truly consider Timmy Monroe a brother and said such bold words?

Leon Keane wasn’t very surprised. Previously at the international airport, Ian Keane had asked him if he had a child outside, saying a brother could be brought back but not a woman.

Leon thought, Ian Keane is a lonely child; he needs a blood sibling to accompany him as he grows.

"Where Mommy is, that’s my home." Timmy Monroe stubbornly said.

Leon suddenly had a bit of a headache. The child’s personality is somewhat like Ivana Monroe, very stubborn about certain things. Wanting to keep him by his side doesn’t seem easy.

Ivana Monroe made a call to Jacobs in the morning. She had things to handle today and might not make it to the office until the afternoon.

"Alright, Ivana, take care of your business first. I’m here at the company. If there’s anything urgent, I’ll call you."

Ivana felt assured with Jacobs, hung up, and went to Riverbend Hospital.

Gavin Monroe’s mental state was much better than in the last few days. The hospital room was quieter, with only Butler Chaucer staying by the old man’s side to care for him.

Ivana replaced the flowers in the room’s vase with fresh ones, peeled a mangosteen for the old man with her own hands, chatted with him for a while, then left the ward.

Butler Chaucer escorted Ivana out and said, "Miss Ivana, you’re so thoughtful. Old Master is recovering very well. Before long, he can be discharged and return home."

Among all the Monroe family descendants, only Miss Ivana has the heart and genuinely cares about Old Master’s health.

Caleb Monroe, the elder, comes once every evening, reeking of heavy women’s perfume. One doesn’t need to say to know what he’s up to outside.

Despite Old Master’s surgery and hospital stay, his eldest son still has leisure to play with women outside. How can Butler Chaucer not be angry?

The second son and Monroe family’s two daughters have obediently not disturbed Old Master after Ivana’s outburst outside the ward. So no one has visited Old Master over the past few days.

These children are heartless, combined together, they don’t match Ivana.

No wonder Old Master favored Ivana since she was little.

Old Master saw correctly, only Ivana has a conscience.

"Uncle Chaucer, thank you for staying by Grandpa’s ward and taking care of him so meticulously every day." Ivana gave a ninety-degree bow to Butler Chaucer.

"Miss Ivana, you shouldn’t—this is my job." Butler Chaucer was startled, quickly reached out to support Ivana, preventing her from performing such a heavy courtesy.

Without Butler Chaucer’s careful care, how could Grandpa have recovered so well?

Ivana understood this fact.

So Ivana was grateful to Butler Chaucer and respected him.

"Uncle Chaucer, there’s one more thing I must tell you. I have found evidence of Michelle Monroe’s attempt to kill me. Soon, I’ll send her to prison."

"Good, Uncle Chaucer supports you. Jean Shaw, that venomous woman, has long been corrupt and heartless. The daughter she raised is just as malicious. Your father was blind to marry such a toxic woman and raise a wicked daughter, putting Miss Ivana in peril."

Butler Chaucer was excited, wiping tears from the corners of his eyes.

The atrocious acts Jean Shaw and Michelle Monroe committed in the hospital bathroom, along with their malicious words wishing Old Master dead, were known to Butler Chaucer, transmitted by other patients’ families.

Butler Chaucer loathed Jean Shaw and Michelle Monroe, that vicious mother-daughter pair, wishing they would die soon.

Now that Ivana found evidence and would send Michelle Monroe to prison, Butler Chaucer was elated, wishing that Michelle Monroe would be arrested immediately and sentenced for attempted murder, spending the rest of her life in prison.

"Miss Ivana, what evidence do you have? If you trust Uncle Chaucer, tell me. I mean no harm, just worry for you. Jean Shaw, that venomous woman, is cunning. Uncle Chaucer fears she might catch wind and hurt you."

"Uncle Chaucer, since I’m telling you about this, I definitely trust you."

Ivana took out her phone and showed Uncle Chaucer a picture and video from her album.

Uncle Chaucer looked at them, trembling with anger: "Too excessive, too cruel. Michelle Monroe, that scum, dared to do such things to Miss Ivana. It’s not excessive to execute her in a thousand cuts."

Uncle Chaucer’s eyes reddened, tears streaming down continuously.

Ivana consoled Uncle Chaucer: "It’s all in the past. Since Heaven let me escape death at Michelle Monroe’s hands six years ago, the reborn me is here to claim her life now."

"Is Miss Ivana going to find that driver who disposed of the body? To make him a witness?"

"Yes, that’s right."

"It’s too dangerous for Miss Ivana to go alone; Uncle Chaucer will find trustworthy people to accompany you!"

"No need, Uncle Chaucer. I’ve dealt with that driver before. He initially helped Michelle Monroe because of money. Now he has a family and children; he doesn’t dare commit heinous crimes or murders."

If she could bribe the driver with money to testify for her now, she would have done it already. But because he now has family concerns and fears, she can only confront him with this.

"If you encounter anything unsolvable, call Uncle Chaucer at once. Uncle Chaucer’s phone is available 24 hours a day." Butler Chaucer was cautious, hoping Ivana would successfully persuade the driver while still keeping an extra eye out.
