Chapter 77: Chapter 77: That’s How You Behave
Manager Hamilton pushed open the hospital room door, holding a three-tiered wooden deluxe lunchbox in both hands. Seeing Leon Keane and Ivana Monroe embracing ambiguously inside, he lowered his head.
"Sorry, President Kane, I interrupted you. I’ll leave now..."
Ivana’s face bumped into Leon’s chest, overwhelmed by his masculine aura and the rapidly increasing heartbeat that accompanied it. Hearing Manager Hamilton’s words at the door, she, like a startled fawn, quickly retreated to the bed, cheeks burning hot.
Leon felt a strange sense of emptiness in his arms and an inexplicable wave of disappointment in his heart. Seeing her falling back onto the bed at lightning speed, he wanted to tell her to "slow down," but he was already too late.
Leon turned around, looked at Manager Hamilton walking away at the door, and vented all his anger on him, "Get back in here."
Manager Hamilton shivered with fear, turned his body, saw Leon looking disrupted and frustrated. He felt very apologetic and, while placing the fancy lunchbox on the patient’s table, sneaked a look at the female protagonist in Leon’s embrace.
Isn’t this the beautiful mommy President Kane mistook as his son’s last time?
President Kane is with her now?
Could it be that the son was not a mistake? Is Timmy Monroe also President Kane’s biological son?
Oh my god! This is too sensational. President Kane has gained another son, and the Kanes have another young master.
Manager Hamilton was so excited that his hands trembled, yet luckily, the dishes were already served, with the last box containing rice.
"President Kane, this wild black fish, steamed pigeon, and black bean pig’s trotter soup are all nourishing dishes beneficial for wound healing. After childbirth, these are the family’s first choices for incision recovery...,"
"Enough, get out!"
Seeing Ivana’s flushed cheeks, Leon interrupted Manager Hamilton and drove him out.
This Manager Hamilton, saying they were good for wound healing was sufficient, why mention pregnant women? It’s as if he’s saying Ivana was pregnant and giving birth.
Thinking of this, Leon’s handsome face warmed up, with images of Ivana’s bulging belly flashing through his mind.
His gaze tenderly fell on the woman lying on the hospital bed. She once carried his child, gave birth to his child, but at that time, he was not aware, nor was he by her side.
Leon could not imagine under what dire circumstances, six years ago, she survived to give birth to Ian and Timmy?
Madam Kane always concealed from him who Ian’s mother was, along with which hospital she gave birth in and how Ian came into the world. All of it was hidden.
In these six years, Leon did make moves to find Ian’s mother, but there was no trace. On Ian’s birth day, surveillance in all hospitals in Ravenswood was completely black and white. There was no maternity registration matching Ian’s birth.
That is to say, six years ago, in Ravenswood, all children’s birth times, who were born alongside Ian, were entirely altered by Madam Kane.
Madam Kane is the kind of person who wouldn’t change her grandson’s birth time, so the one changed must be someone else’s.
But there was one matter Leon didn’t understand: why did Madam Kane leave Timmy with Ivana? Didn’t she know Ivana was carrying twins back then?
Leon thought the possibility of that was small. A woman, pregnant for ten months, would surely have maternity checkups. Madam Kane likely knew how many children were in Ivana’s belly from the start.
A chill crept up Leon’s spine as he tried to shake off the notion of thinking of his mother as too malicious.
He preferred to believe Madam Kane left one child with Ivana to prevent Ivana from knowing she had twins and unwilling to give up on Ian. Roaming around Ravenswood looking for Ian would have caught his attention.
Leon lowered his head, concealing all emotions, wanting to properly compensate Ivana, the woman who bore two children and suffered so much for him.
He picked some food into a lunch box and brought it over to feed Ivana.
"Let me do it myself..."
"Don’t move, open your mouth!"
Leon, using his chopsticks, picked up some black fish and placed it at Ivana’s mouth.
Ivana, being a mommy, wasn’t used to being fed like this, "Leon..."
The black fish quickly stuffed into her mouth, blocking the words she was about to say.
Seeing her chewing the food in her mouth, Leon’s handsome face beamed with a smile, praised, "That’s better."
Ivana frowned, her cheeks burning hot like a fully ripe apple. Did he take her for a child? Using this child-coaxing tone to coax her into eating?
Ivana was suddenly surprised, looking at him with peculiar eyes.
Did he take the wrong medication today?
The Kanes, old residence.
After dinner, Timmy Monroe opened his Minion backpack, took out a drawing board, and began painting with watercolor pens.
This was the art homework assigned by the teacher today.
He painted very seriously, his childlike face full of sunshine and smiles, as if the world in the painting was exceptionally beautiful, the little boy was immersed in it.
Even when Ian Keane arrived beside him, the little boy didn’t notice.
With the final stroke being the sun’s smiling face, after putting down the golden watercolor pen, Timmy discovered Ian by his side.
He cheerfully said, "Brother, have you finished your homework? You’re awesome! Brother, look at how I’ve painted?"
Ian looked at the board, where a young woman in a white dress was smiling and holding hands with a happy little boy, walking on green grass, under a rainbow, with a beautiful sun and a smiling face. It was a painting full of sunshine and joy.
Ian suddenly swept the painting out of Timmy’s hands, a stern look on his face, saying, "Not very good, the woman in the picture is too ugly."
Timmy picked up the drawing from the ground, cautiously wiped the board clean, cradling it like a treasure, glaring at Ian angrily, "I won’t allow you to say that about my mommy."
Ian was taken aback, as if he was very surprised by Timmy’s attitude towards him.
Ian coldly laughed, "If you don’t want me to say it, then don’t draw such things in front of me in the future, especially not other women."
With that, Ian turned coldly, he could allow his younger brother to enter, but he definitely wouldn’t allow the woman in the painting to step into the Kane house.
He didn’t need a stepmother.
"She’s not another woman; she’s my mommy, Ian Keane. You can’t be so selfish, just because you don’t have a mommy, you don’t allow me to draw mine." Timmy shouted defiantly at Ian from behind.
Ian halted, his small stature standing stiffly.
He slowly turned back, his gaze chilling, "Say it again, who doesn’t have a mommy?"
Timmy wasn’t afraid of Ian, because Ian had completely overstepped his boundaries, "Am I wrong? My mommy has never offended you. Why do you hate her so much?"
Ian frowned. Did he truly hate her?
No, it wasn’t her he hated.
Rather, he hated any woman who wanted to marry into the Kane family and become his stepmother.
