Chapter 106: Smash the Camera

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Smash the Camera

Ivana Monroe stopped trying to snatch the camera; Isaac Heston’s words, like a thorn, viciously pierced Brooke’s heart.

She became Leon Keane’s date because she needed Leon’s help to get all the data from Michelle Monroe’s computer, not as Isaac suggested, climbing into Leon’s bed for money, giving herself up to him.

She’s not that disgraceful.

Ivana’s red lips moved slightly, but in the end, she didn’t offer any explanation.

Does explaining help?

Almost everyone who knew she was Leon Keane’s date thought like Isaac. Isn’t Mr. Morris at the banquet the best example?

Ivana bit her lip, said nothing, and turned to leave.

Isaac took her behavior as a tacit admission.

He was furious, a voice inside him shouted for her to explain: Why aren’t you explaining? Did I hit the nail on the head? Can’t explain it?

Suddenly, Isaac forcefully smashed the camera in his hand, as if venting his anger.

He yelled at Ivana’s departing figure: "Count me, Isaac Heston, blind, for seeing the wrong person. You’re just a pretty face with a filthy inside—a cheap woman. Your whole life, you’ll only be using men for benefits. I want to see how many months you can warm Leon Keane’s bed?"

Ivana suddenly clenched her fingers tightly, quickened her pace, her eyes reddened, with hazy mist gathering, ready to fall at any moment.

She didn’t want to see Isaac again, never in this lifetime.

After Isaac scolded, he didn’t feel the relief he imagined; instead, he felt more irritated. Seeing the broken camera on the ground, he kicked it hard, smashing it into pieces against the flower bed by the sidewalk.

"Oh, cousin, such a temper! You just smashed such an expensive camera?"

Susan Heston sauntered over, appearing in Isaac’s view.

"I’m in a bad mood today, Susan Heston, you’d best not annoy me." Lately, Susan had been following him like a ghost that wouldn’t go away.

Isaac was immensely annoyed; usually, if he was in a good mood, it was bearable, but today his mood was terrible, especially seeing Susan’s irksome face.

"I don’t want to annoy cousin either! As long as cousin is willing to give your cousin some resources to make me a top star, once I make it, I won’t bother you again."

"With your acting skills? Being a top star? Dreaming is more realistic."

Isaac unceremoniously mocked Susan. Unless all the audiences were blind, only then would they acknowledge Susan’s post-surgery face and her terrible acting skills.

"Cousin, saying that about your own cousin, don’t you think you’re going too far?" Susan was very unbalanced; Isaac didn’t want to help her but had the nerve to be so hurtful—she wouldn’t be polite to him either.

A dark glint flashed in Susan’s eyes as she took out her phone: "Cousin, I recorded your conversation with that Ivana slut. Guess what will happen if I give this video to the media? Cousin, you’re the entertainment circle’s most honest talker, and everyone in the circle, including audiences, trusts what you say."

Isaac’s handsome face suddenly darkened; he suddenly grabbed Susan’s phone, threw it hard on the ground, smashing it to pieces.

Susan was startled, but her face didn’t show any regret. Instead, she sneered: "It’s okay if the phone’s broken. I’ve already uploaded the video to my QQ email."

Isaac’s face was frighteningly grim: "Susan, for fame, you really don’t care about dignity and would do anything."

Susan’s made-up face turned various shades of blue and white.

She angrily said: "Isaac, what right do you have to talk about me? It’s a shame you bear the Heston name, you’d rather shamelessly chase Ivana and give away good resources to an outsider than support your own cousin. You’re unworthy of the Heston name, and unfit to criticize me."

Isaac suddenly sneered: "Do you think if I give you resources, you’ll become famous? Become a top star?"

Susan couldn’t stand Isaac’s contemptuous face, as if she were a useless blob of mud, destined never to stick to the wall.

But she wasn’t. She just lacked good resources. All she needed were good resources, and she’d prove to him she was a capable actress.

"As long as you give me the best resources, I can become a top star," Susan practically shouted.

Isaac laughed angrily: "Fine, since you won’t give up, I’ll give you a chance to come to terms. I’m offering you the lead audition rights for ’Legend of the Heavenly Concubine.’ If you get through the audition, the role is yours."

Susan wasn’t satisfied, she didn’t even need to audition. She was beautiful as a fairy, her acting was top-notch. No one was more suitable for the lead in ’Legend of the Heavenly Concubine’ than her.

Susan raised her chin: "I won’t go to an audition; I want the lead in ’Legend of the Heavenly Concubine.’

Isaac sneered: "I can’t decide that alone. The director and the investors also have voting rights. In total, there are three votes. Even if I give you my vote, you still need to get at least one vote from either the director or investors to qualify for the lead role in ’Legend of the Heavenly Concubine.’

Susan clenched her fingers: "Fine then! Once I pass, I’ll give the video back to you."

Susan was threatening Isaac. If he didn’t help her secure the two votes, she’d still give the video to the media. At that time, not only would Ivana be despised by everyone, but Isaac’s days wouldn’t be easy.

Because Isaac not only exposed Ivana but also a top figure at the apex of Ravenswood’s pyramid... Leon Keane.

Isaac’s expression was gloomy, but he was a principled person: "Susan, you can’t threaten me. If you don’t pass, I won’t help you. You can hand the video to whichever media you like."

"Ivana herself is shamelessly willing to be Leon Keane’s date, afraid others will find out? I’m not inclined to involve myself in her affairs."

Susan’s face changed slightly: "Aren’t you afraid Leon Keane will cause you trouble?"

Isaac mocked: "Over the years, has Leon changed many dates? Have few of them been exposed? You think he’d care about these things?"

Susan’s face turned a livid shade.

Ivana returned to the company, composed herself, flipped through the design drafts, and when the time was about right, she took a cab to Wellbright Kindergarten to pick up ’Timmy.’

Ivana arrived at Wellbright Kindergarten and saw a familiar slender figure.

She had long hair draping over her shoulders, wore an egg-yellow frilly dress, holding a remote control. At her feet was a very eye-catching toy off-road vehicle that could hold a person; in the passenger seat sat a gray teddy bear wearing camouflage clothing.

Her appearance attracted many parents.
