Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Pushed Down the Stairs, Fracture
Julia was furious.
This woman, does she have any shame? Without understanding the situation, she claimed she wanted to be the third wheel?
Julia looked at Ivana with disdain, calling Leon... my husband, how insecure is this woman? To use this method to prove the relationship between Leon Keane and her?
Julia scoffed, marriages not favored by elders ultimately lead nowhere.
The relationship between this woman and Leon was destined to end the moment she flew from Meridia to Ravenswood.
Ivana was taken aback.
Leon Keane’s first love?
Ivana seriously scrutinized Julia, and upon seeing Julia’s eyes, Ivana felt discomfort. Her familiarity with Julia not only came from Julia pushing Leon’s mother out of the operating room but also because these eyes resembled hers quite a bit.
Julia was a beauty in the making, with enchanting features that exuded charm and allure, except for those eyes that mirrored the misty scenery of southern Jiangnan against clear lakes and flowing waters.
It was these eyes that hid Julia’s seductive aura and transformed her into a darling little beauty.
Ivana’s beauty was quite delicate, with each feature finely crafted, combining to create a mesmerizing standard first-love face.
Julia envied Ivana for having such a face. Ironically, though they should be roughly the same age and Julia hasn’t had children while Ivana had a several-year-old child, Ivana appeared much younger.
Leon must have chosen this woman because of that face!
Dark clouds flashed in Julia’s eyes, her fingers moved threateningly, she wished she could wield a scalpel to scar this woman’s face.
This terrifying thought flashed through Julia’s mind.
She wasn’t foolish enough to do something illegal.
Because this woman wasn’t worth breaking the law for.
"First loves that don’t last mean you and my husband are not meant to be. If my husband truly loved you, would he really be with me? Substitute? A woman who can be replaced isn’t that important in my husband’s heart."
Seeing Julia’s increasingly unpleasant expression, Ivana chuckled softly.
Already can’t take it?
She hadn’t finished speaking yet!
"Miss Julia, why deceive yourself? Wasn’t my husband’s behavior at the operating room door clear enough? He didn’t even recognize you. If you truly had lived in his heart, how could he not recognize you now?"
"And look at yourself, haven’t you already engraved my husband deeply in your heart? That’s why you came looking for me, trying to sow discord between us."
"You think this method is clever? You must be disappointed, I’m not as foolish as you imagine."
After Ivana spoke, she turned around gracefully, leaving Julia with her back.
She didn’t want to see a woman’s twisted, hideous face due to jealousy ruin that gentle visage.
Julia was shaking with anger; she had intended to pierce Ivana’s heart but ended up with her own pierced brutally.
That’s right.
She loved Leon Keane to the point of losing herself; otherwise, she wouldn’t have remained unmarried in Meridia, despite having many suitors.
Because deep love makes one most vulnerable.
Being ignored by Leon outside the operating room had already deeply wounded Julia once.
Now, the wound was torn open by Ivana herself, causing Julia agonizing pain and relentless jealousy.
She watched Ivana’s back ominously as she descended the stairs.
Suddenly.
Julia’s mouth curled into an icy smile.
She tilted her body with a sharp cry: "Ah, save me..."
Ivana, midway down the stairs, initially didn’t want to turn back, but upon hearing the sound of Julia falling and rolling down the stairs, she glanced back, eyes widening.
Julia had already rolled to her feet, suddenly reached out, and grabbed Ivana’s calf, dragging her down the stairs with her.
At the stairway’s corner lay diamond-shaped steps—if one’s head hit them, it would surely result in a bloody wound.
Julia watched as her forehead was about to smash against it; she was terrified.
Assuming this fall would at most be a fracture, she hadn’t foreseen the looming danger could be worse than a fracture; hitting it would result in more than a mild concussion—it could ruin her face.
Julia suddenly recalled the calf she tightly grasped; she malevolently smiled and used Ivana’s calf to shield her head.
Ivana felt dizzy, trapped in a freezing cavern, reminiscent of six years ago; she trembled all over, unable to think.
Suddenly, sharp pain shot from her calf, pulling her senses back to reality.
"Ah~" Ivana clenched her teeth in agony.
Outside the stairs.
Timmy Monroe: "Daddy, I seem to hear Mommy’s voice."
Leon Keane hadn’t heard a thing; he thought Timmy was mistaken, saying, "Your Mommy’s waiting for us in Uncle Derrick’s car! She’s not here; you heard wrong."
"I didn’t."
Timmy declared firmly, not explaining further to Leon, and took off running in a certain direction.
"Timmy..."
Leon called out futilely, but could only quicken his pace, following Timmy.
Timmy pushed open the stair’s door, but didn’t see Ivana, though he heard her groans. He ran rapidly down, past the stairway’s corner, and saw Ivana and Julia fallen on the ground.
Timmy’s eyes instantly reddened, shouting: "Mommy."
Julia’s body pressed down on Ivana’s other leg.
Seeing Ivana’s painfully contorted face, seeming severely hurt, Timmy trembled, fiercely glaring at Julia, kicking forcefully against her back: "Get off, get off my mommy."
Timmy kicked Julia with all his strength.
Julia felt immense pain, scrambling up, screaming: "What are you doing? You brat."
As she got up, her first instinct was to raise a hand to smack Timmy.
Just as she was about to hit Timmy, footsteps were heard coming down again.
Julia was startled, quickly retracting her hand, and seeing Leon’s handsome and extraordinary face, her heart raced anew.
Leon ran down the stairs, glanced at Julia, then turned his gaze to Timmy and to Ivana, who was on the ground, his eyes filled with concern.
Leon accelerated his pace towards the bottom of the stairs.
Julia suddenly grabbed his arm.
Leon frowned.
Julia’s face was full of pain: "Leon, shouldn’t I be here? She pushed me down the stairs, and my foot now hurts so badly, it must be fractured."
Leon felt disoriented; Julia’s grimacing didn’t seem fake, reminding him of the incident outside the operating room.
Was Ivana jealous?
Julia cried out again: "Ah~ I’m in so much pain, Leon, please take me to the emergency room."
