Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Don’t Lose Your Temper Over This
Shelton Hale hesitated for a moment and then laughed, saying, "She’s delusional, always fantasizing about marrying Leon Keane. What kind of nonsense relationship could she possibly have with Leon?"
Leo Griffin sneered, "Oh, a delusion, then it’s fine. I thought she had something going on with Leon Keane, and you’d end up getting me into trouble."
Shelton Hale felt a bit guilty, "Why would that happen?"
Upon hearing this, Leo Griffin didn’t say anything further, because he trusted Shelton Hale a lot.
Back when he first started his hospital internship, he had been bullied and framed by colleagues. It was Shelton Hale who stood up for him; otherwise, he really couldn’t have lasted back then and would have given up on being a doctor.
Now, he has gained some fame in the hospital, also because Shelton Hale’s relative is the director of this hospital. Otherwise, with so many people in orthopedics, how could he shine and become Professor Griffin at Mount Cygnus Hospital at such a young age?
Shelton Hale asked him for help this time, and he agreed without a second thought.
Later, he found out that it was a medical accident.
Leo Griffin did hesitate at that time, but Shelton Hale assured him that even if there were a medical accident, no one else would know, at most, only Mount Cygnus Hospital staff would be aware of the incident.
The director of Mount Cygnus Hospital is Shelton Hale’s uncle; Leo Griffin isn’t afraid of other orthopedic doctors catching onto this matter and putting him down, meaning that Ivana Monroe’s medical accident wouldn’t affect him at all.
Leo Griffin owed Shelton Hale a favor and was also afraid of offending him. So, once Shelton Hale finished speaking, there was nothing left to say; he rolled up his sleeves and helped Shelton Hale.
Shelton Hale added, "Tomorrow, go again to Ivana Monroe’s ward and hover around her. The sooner she makes a decision, the better, so that I can arrange the surgery at any moment; ideally, she agrees tomorrow, and we proceed with the surgery immediately."
Leo Griffin felt Shelton Hale was anxious; thinking about how much Shelton Hale liked Julia Sinclair, while the foolish Ivana Monroe intentionally pushed Julia down the stairs, causing severe injuries to the woman Shelton Hale cherished, Leo Griffin seemed to understand why Shelton Hale was so impatient.
Anxious to avenge Julia Sinclair.
Leo Griffin agreed, "Alright."
Leo Griffin left Shelton Hale’s office and immediately received a phone call from Jack Quinn.
Jack Quinn asked him to come over to check on Julia Sinclair’s injury report.
After seeing it, Shelton Hale’s pupils contracted sharply. Although he knew in his heart that it was fake, he couldn’t help but take it seriously—he liked Julia Sinclair too much. Even if Julia Sinclair suffered a minor injury, it would be relentlessly magnified in Shelton Hale’s eyes, let alone the injury report which already exaggerated the wounds, making them appear extremely serious in Shelton Hale’s view.
Shelton Hale wanted to choke Ivana Monroe on the spot.
"It’s unforgivable that she hurt Julia so severely; she’ll soon face retribution." Shelton Hale gritted his teeth.
"What kind of retribution?" the nurse at the injury report window asked.
"Mind your own business. Do your job." Shelton Hale hated plump bucktoothed girls; this nurse was not only plump but also had a protruding chin, looking ridiculous even with her mouth closed. Opening her mouth made it all the more off-putting.
Shelton Hale spoke irritably.
The nurse told off lowered her head in grievance, thinking to herself: Not even our department’s director—why act all fierce? He’s just in that position in orthopedics thanks to family connections; what’s so remarkable about that?
Jack Quinn generally avoids offending anyone; his father owns this hospital, and its staff are practically his family’s employees. He’s not the type to flaunt authority in front of staff.
On the contrary, Jack Quinn remained low-key in front of the staff.
Jack Quinn frowned slightly and pulled Shelton Hale aside, whispering, "Have you already made arrangements?"
With a cold curl of his lips, Shelton Hale said, "Yes, just wait and see! She’ll face serious retribution."
Jack Quinn didn’t ask further questions, a cunning glint in his eyes, saying, "If you pull it off, Julia’s bound to be delighted."
Upon hearing Julia’s name, Shelton Hale felt both distressed and pleased, "I’ll do anything for Julia. Jack, I know you, like me, also have feelings for Julia. Let’s have a fair competition; regardless of who she chooses in the future, let’s not hold it against each other, okay?"
Jack Quinn nodded and smiled, "Of course, I respect Julia’s choice. Moreover, you’re my cousin; we shouldn’t ruin our good relationship over this."
Having heard this, Shelton Hale felt relieved.
There’s nothing else he’s afraid of but accomplishing this, leading Julia to be touched and like him afterward, causing Jack Quinn to be unhappy. His job and livelihood are provided by the Quinn family, and the hidden income from it is substantial. He couldn’t afford for Jack Quinn to be displeased over Julia’s matter and lose his job.
Shelton Hale envisaged having both beauty and wealth.
Jack Quinn instantly saw through Shelton Hale, seemingly gentle but internally mocking: With Shelton Hale’s family background? Does he deserve Julia?
Julia isn’t blind; she wouldn’t choose Shelton Hale over him.

Leon Keane arrived at Mount Cygnus Hospital, first visiting VIP room number one, intending to go to room two after checking on his mother.
Just as he stepped into room one, he heard his mother scolding Auntie Chamberlain.
"Clumsy, can’t even handle a little thing right. I must’ve been blind, spending so much salary to recruit you into our home."
His mother’s voice was loud, hardly like someone who’d just had heart bypass surgery the night before.
"Who allowed you to come in without knocking on the door? Get out."
Upon hearing someone enter, her angry voice moved faster than her turning of head.
Upon seeing Leon Keane, his mother hesitated, feeling guilty, fearing that Leon might discover something. Her cough immediately softened, her voice feeble as though she was exhausted, "Why are you still coming to see me? Go find Ivana Monroe, you blind fool, choosing women over your own mother."
Leon Keane frowned, somewhat doubting if he was hallucinating? Earlier, his mother seemed to have a strong voice; how did it suddenly soften?
Leon decided not to discuss Ivana Monroe with his mother—his mother disliked Ivana and would say all sorts of unpleasant things.
Leon very much disliked this aspect of his mother.
Leon saw Auntie Chamberlain crouched on the floor, tearing up as she picked up the broken teacup, "It’s just a broken cup; no need to get so furious. I’ll ask Derrick Stern to buy one for you."
Leon took out his phone and called Derrick Stern, asking him to go to the supermarket to buy and deliver a teacup.
He hung up the phone.
His mother replied angrily, "It’s not just about a cup, Leon; you have no idea what trouble she caused yesterday."
His mother successfully changed the topic; he approached his mother’s side, holding Ian Keane sitting by the bedside, placing the little boy onto his lap as he sat on Ian’s chair.
"What did Auntie Chamberlain do?"
