Chapter 305: Mommy Is Missing

Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Mommy Is Missing

Aunt Golding snorted, "Do you think the parents are idiots? Letting their child stop Timmy from going in to keep his mom company?"

Evan Reed was speechless, feeling that Aunt Golding’s indulgence of the child had reached a point of no return.

Suddenly.

Evan Reed’s ear was bitten.

"Ah..."

Evan Reed screamed in pain and had no choice but to let go of Timmy Monroe.

Timmy Monroe broke free from Evan Reed’s grasp. He started running quickly into the examination room with his little legs.

Evan Reed touched his ear, his fingertips stained with bright red blood, and he gasped from the pain. This little boy sure bit hard!

Evan Reed felt a shadow flash past his eyes and realized that both Timmy Monroe and Aunt Golding had run into the examination room. He stood up quickly and chased after them.

"Hey! You two can’t go in there."

After Evan Reed chased them inside, he saw the little boy standing there dazed, with Aunt Golding beside him. His face turned pale as he shouted, "What’s wrong with you two? The kid doesn’t know better, but what about the old one? Are you barging into the examination room like you own the place? What if your sudden intrusion delays Dr. Griffin’s work?"

Timmy Monroe turned around, lifting his head with clear eyes brimming with stubborn tears. His eyes red, he yelled angrily, "Where’s my mommy? Where did you take her?"

Aunt Golding sensed that something was off. She felt a chill in her heart and stood nervously behind Timmy Monroe, watching Evan Reed warily, afraid that he might harm Timmy Monroe.

"What are you yelling for? Isn’t your mommy here for an examination?"

Evan Reed said to Timmy Monroe unkindly, pointing somewhere, but then he froze. His expression turned stiff. He remembered pushing Ivana Monroe in and placing the hospital bed right there.

Where is she now?

"Here? Ha..." Timmy Monroe’s tears rolled down his cheeks. "Give my mommy back to me. If you hurt her, I won’t let you off."

"Kid, calm down. We’re doctors. Why would we harm your mommy? Wait a minute. I’ll make a call to find out where Dr. Griffin took her."

Evan Reed took out his phone and dialed Leo Griffin’s number.

Elsewhere.

Leo Griffin found some disinfectant, treated the wound on his finger, and bandaged it simply.

He noticed the blood on Ivana Monroe’s lips and picked up gauze to wipe away the traces of blood from her unconscious lips. He threw the bloody gauze into the trash can, and his eyes were filled with resentment as he looked at Ivana Monroe.

"Damn woman, dare to bite me? Just wait till I’m done with the surgery. I’ll make sure you suffer in pain."

He planned to cut into Ivana Monroe’s foot more significantly and not give her any painkillers after the surgery.

Leo Griffin took out a pre-prepared "surgery consent form," pressing Ivana Monroe’s thumb onto it to leave a red imprint. After securing it, he took a shimmering scalpel from the cold surgical tray, looking coldly at Ivana Monroe’s ankle. His smile was chilling, much like a psycho from TV.

The sharp scalpel blade touched Ivana Monroe’s ankle, instantly slicing the skin, with a line of blood trickling down her snow-white ankle.

Just as Leo Griffin was about to slice open Ivana Monroe’s ankle, the phone in his pocket vibrated and rang suddenly.

His hand trembled slightly, and the scalpel slipped, causing more blood to flow than before.

Leo Griffin withdrew the scalpel, took out his phone, and saw the caller ID—it was Evan Reed’s call, and he frowned.

Leo Griffin didn’t answer Evan Reed’s call and was preparing to proceed with Ivana Monroe’s surgery again.

The phone kept ringing unwillingly, and feeling a bit irritated, Leo Griffin suddenly remembered that Evan Reed was outside the examination room holding off Aunt Golding and Timmy Monroe. If something happened to Ivana Monroe, someone has to take the fall. Evan Reed has witnesses; he could shift the blame!

Feeling a bit of anxiety, Leo Griffin put down the scalpel, picked up the phone in the operating room, and called Shelton Hale’s extension.

"Shelton, it’s Leo Griffin. I’m in the operating room now with Ivana Monroe sedated. There’s an old and a young one in Ward 2 who insist on coming along and can’t be stopped. I have no choice but to have Evan Reed stand outside the examination room and forcibly stop them from entering."

"But now, Evan Reed is relentlessly calling me, probably because he couldn’t stop them. I’m afraid they’ll make a big deal out of things. Can you send some people over to see what’s going on? And bring Evan Reed back to the operating room?"

"Hmm, I’ll wait for Evan Reed in the operating room before proceeding with surgery on Ivana Monroe."

Shelton Hale hung up the phone, furrowing his brows: What the heck? Evan Reed refuses, so they won’t perform surgery on Ivana Monroe? Is Leo Griffin out of his mind? How could he not seize such a good opportunity?

Shelton Hale felt angry, knowing well that Leo Griffin was timid and afraid of trouble. He feared that if Evan Reed didn’t go, and something happened, Leo Griffin couldn’t shift the blame.

Shelton Hale immediately dialed the security office’s phone.

"This is Shelton Hale. There are family members causing trouble in the examination room. Head over there now and stop them."

"Once you’ve stopped the unruly family members, call me back immediately, understood?"

"Yes, Dr. Hale."

A moment later, seven or eight hospital security guards arrived at the examination room. They initially thought the troublemaking family members would be robust young men or unreasonable shrews.

Seeing Aunt Golding and Timmy Monroe, one elderly and one young, they couldn’t associate the two with causing trouble.

The little boy’s eyes were red from crying. Seeing the guards, he took off running.

"Stop him."

One of the guards shouted.

The seven or eight guards rushed in, trying to stop and catch the little boy like eagles clutching chicks.

"Get away, all of you, get away!"

Timmy Monroe screamed loudly, but he was way too small. It was too easy for the seven or eight grown men to catch him.

Timmy Monroe was quickly apprehended by the guards.

Aunt Golding rushed over, raising her hand to hit the guard holding Timmy Monroe, simultaneously grabbing the little boy with her other hand: "Don’t hurt him, he’s just a child. Don’t you have children at home? Aren’t you ashamed, ganging up like this on a child?"

The guard hesitated, a bit startled by Aunt Golding’s slaps. If she weren’t an old woman, he might have thrown a punch back.

So just because they have an older person, a child, they think they’re invincible?

Does that give them the right to cause trouble in the examination room?

Evan Reed saw the guards coming and felt bewildered: "What are you doing here? Let the kid go. It’s only normal for him to be worried since his mommy is missing..."

Before Evan Reed could finish his sentence, Shelton Hale called.

"Don’t say anything, don’t ask anything, just go help out in the operating room right now."

"What?"

"Did you not understand what I just said? Or would you rather have your salary docked this month? Director Quinn is very busy, and I’m handling almost all important matters for each department. I have the authority to dock your pay, even fire you."
