Three Lives Pagoda

Chapter 315: The Ruthless Leon Keane

Chapter 315: Chapter 315: The Ruthless Leon Keane

"Exactly! What nonsense is this? Their own orthopedic doctors are inept and causing harm, yet they won’t allow Mr. Griffin to help the patient?"

"Is Huashan trying to blame the patient because they know they’re in trouble?"

The onlookers were fickle, swaying with the wind. Initially, they believed Auntie Chamberlain’s nonsense and thought Ivana Monroe was a villain. Later, when the police arrived, Aunt Golding declared Ivana innocent, and the crowd couldn’t discern the truth. However, when it came to saving lives, the onlookers sided with Ivana.

Jack Quinn was annoyed by these meddlesome onlookers. What business did they have here?

"Director Quinn, what should we do now?"

The doctor asked Jack Quinn quietly.

"Maybe we should just leave it be. If something goes wrong, let Mr. Griffin be responsible for the surgery inside."

Another doctor suggested.

Now the crowd supported Ivana and Mr. Griffin. If they forcibly stopped them, who knows how these people might criticize Huashan online? The most disgusting were the big influencers inciting public opinion.

"No."

Jack Quinn decisively refused. If they didn’t intervene, Mr. Griffin’s surgery would surely succeed, benefitting Ivana in the process.

He couldn’t let Shelton Hale’s plan fail.

Faced with the doctors’ questioning gaze.

Jack Quinn took a deep breath. "It’s a matter of principle."

The sycophant agreed, "Yes, Director Quinn is right. It’s a matter of principle. If we allow Mr. Griffin to set this precedent, wouldn’t other hospital doctors misuse our operating room in the future?"

The sycophant raised his voice at the police, "You have the right to take people to the station for questioning, but you don’t have the right to protect doctors from other hospitals messing around in our operating room."

"You need to step aside, or I’ll call the station to complain about you."

The police were exasperated by the sycophant’s aggressive behavior. He was right; if Jack Quinn insisted on refusal, they couldn’t do anything either.

Jack Quinn led the doctors inside.

"Mr. Griffin, please stop the surgery immediately."

Leo Griffin ignored Jack Quinn, focusing intensely on his work.

Timmy Monroe and Ian Keane rushed over to block Jack Quinn and the doctors.

"Get lost, don’t disturb Grandpa Griffin performing surgery on my mom."

Timmy Monroe shouted angrily at Jack Quinn.

Ian Keane fixed his icy gaze on Jack Quinn, as if ready to pounce if he dared step forward.

Mrs. Keane saw this and panicked, "You are not allowed to hurt my grandson."

Mrs. Keane urged the bodyguard beside her, "Quickly, go protect Ian."

Mrs. Keane’s heart was focused solely on Ian; she didn’t order anyone to protect Timmy, as if everything about Timmy couldn’t match a single finger of Ian’s.

"Grandpa Griffin?" Jack Quinn’s lips twitched. This kid was clever, already flattering Mr. Griffin at such a young age. No wonder Mr. Griffin would do something as reckless as saving a life here in Huashan’s operating room.

Suddenly, Jack Quinn reached out, pulling Timmy Monroe aside. Ian Keane kicked, his eyes flashing as he swiftly lifted Timmy Monroe, using Timmy’s small body to shield against Ian’s attack.

This kid had trained, and he was quite good at it, too.

Unfortunately, Jack Quinn had also trained and had even participated in fights, winning a silver medal.

Ian Keane nearly kicked Timmy Monroe, startling Ian. He changed the direction of his kick in time, resulting in him falling heavily to the ground.

Jack Quinn’s eyes flashed with mockery as he released Timmy Monroe, his sharp gaze landing on Leo Griffin, who was fully focused.

If he intervened now to stop Leo Griffin.

Leo Griffin would certainly "slip up," right?

Mr. Griffin’s authoritative reputation would also be questioned.

Jack Quinn sighed inwardly. Mr. Griffin, you’re sealing your own fate by helping Ivana, can’t blame me.

Just as Jack Quinn reached out and momentarily touched Leo Griffin’s wrist, a sudden chill from behind, and a swift shadow appeared beside him, gripping Jack Quinn’s arm tightly, preventing his fingers from advancing an inch.

Jack Quinn turned his head and was utterly shocked by who he saw.

"Leon Keane."

Leon Keane exuded a terrifying chill as he faced Jack Quinn, his voice icy. "Tell your doctors to get out."

Jack Quinn frowned, why?

Did they want to have a fight in the hospital? Jack Quinn wasn’t afraid.

However, moments later, Jack Quinn relented.

His abdomen was pressed by something dangerous.

Jack Quinn glanced down and saw Leon Keane holding a gun, and was horrified.

"All of you, get out."

Jack Quinn was forced to issue the order.

The doctors weren’t sure what had happened. Some recognized Leon Keane, thinking Jack Quinn was intimidated by Leon Keane’s identity and dared not offend him.

They all left.

"You too, come with me."

Leon Keane’s voice was deep as he spoke to Jack Quinn.

"Leon Keane, you’re holding a..." gun.

Jack Quinn’s words went unfinished as the gun pressed his abdomen again, a strong warning. His face paled, and he refrained from saying that word: "What you’re doing is illegal."

Leon Keane sneered, dragging Jack Quinn to a corner after forcing him out.

"Leon... Leon... take Ian out, too!"

Mrs. Keane saw Leon Keane, and tears flooded her eyes immediately.

"Ian is safe."

Leon Keane left these words for Mrs. Keane then slammed the stairwell door shut.

Mrs. Keane was terrified. Neither the doctors nor the onlookers dared to open the stairwell door without permission.

A moment later, they heard wailing screams coming from behind the stairwell door.

After about three minutes.

The stairwell door suddenly opened.

Leon Keane stepped out. Inside, the wailing turned into subdued moans.

The doctors and onlookers peeked, and inside was someone beaten to a pulp, immobile on the ground, utterly miserable.

"Director Quinn?"

The sycophant tentatively asked.

"Fractured... bones..." Jack Quinn lifted his broken hand, his battered face filled with tears.

Leon Keane was truly ruthless.

The sycophant and all the doctors were terrified. They collectively carried Jack Quinn away, hurrying to another operating room for treatment. No one cared about Mr. Griffin or Ivana anymore.

Leon Keane re-entered the operating room, where Mr. Griffin had just completed the surgery.

Mr. Griffin removed his bloodstained disposable transparent medical gloves and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief. When Jack Quinn came over, intending to intervene, it really frightened him.

Luckily, Leon Keane arrived in time.

"It’s okay now. With sufficient rest, she’ll fully recover."

Mr. Griffin told Leon Keane.

"Thank you, Uncle Griffin."

Hearing the term ’Uncle Griffin,’ Mr. Griffin’s aged eyes reddened slightly. He patted Leon Keane’s shoulder and turned to leave.

As he exited the operating room, he saw a familiar figure and paused.

Their eyes met, blending a mix of nostalgia and old feelings.

"Mr. Griffin, Mr. Griffin..."

The assistant’s voice interrupted Leo Griffin.

Leo Griffin returned to his senses, "I saw an old acquaintance. I’m going over to chat for a bit. Stay here; don’t follow; it would be in the way."
