Chapter 75: Handling It

Bai Shi temporarily donned Erlisa's cloak. It was large and completely enveloped him.

Ignoring his attire, Bai Shi immediately began inspecting the room.

Because Mohg had intentionally protected it, the ceramic pot holding the Reduvia was completely unscathed by the battle.

This confirmed for Bai Shi that the Reduvia was the medium Mohg had used to lock onto his location and teleport to him.

After all, Bai Shi only had a few items related to the Mohgwyn Dynasty, so the answer was obvious.

As for the incantations, Bai Shi hesitated. Bloodflame Blade was incredibly tempting, and its attribute requirements were very low. He might even be able to use it to improve his own Bloodflame Storm.

These incantations were clearly transcribed onto parchment scrolls. Mohg couldn't have placed a mark on every single one, could he?

In the end, however, Bai Shi decided to take the incantations with him to dispose of everything at once.

There was no need to put himself at risk for such minor gains.

Without Bloodflame Storm, there was still Fire Storm and Black Flame Storm. He didn't need to put all his eggs in one basket.

Mohg could create clones at will, but he couldn't guarantee that Fengling Yueying would be available every time.

Even if he had enough uses, it would be frustrating to waste them on Mohg time and time again.

After triple-checking that there were no traces of cursed blood left in the room, Bai Shi carried the ceramic pot with the Reduvia, mounted Torrent, and rode all the way to the seashore.

After having Erlisa freeze a path of ice on the water, Bai Shi walked out onto it and tossed the Reduvia and the ceramic pot into the sea.

The cursed blood was bizarre. Even in the ocean, it didn't disperse immediately like normal blood but instead struggled to float to the surface.

However, there seemed to be a unique power in the seawater that continuously tore at the cursed blood.

Soon, the cursed blood exploded into a crimson mist, stripped away from the Reduvia.

The Reduvia and the three incantation scrolls slowly sank into the depths, disappearing from sight.

Only after personally witnessing these items from the Mohgwyn Dynasty vanish into the sea could Bai Shi finally relax.

Now, Mohg shouldn't be able to appear again.

By the time Bai Shi returned to his room, the servants in the castle had already replaced the furniture and even added some new pieces.

There was a large bed, a table and chair set, a solid wood sofa draped with a woolen blanket, a full-length mirror, and a clothes rack holding several new outfits.

Many of these servants were residents who had arrived with the last supply shipment.

Working as a servant for the castellan was a good job that everyone vied for, so there was no shortage of manpower.

The population of Castle Morne had grown considerably, now numbering a thousand people, and its productivity was recovering.

At least it was no longer like the time right after the rebellion was suppressed, when they couldn't even scrounge up proper furniture.

Edgar was also in Bai Shi's room, waiting specifically for him.

Seeing Bai Shi return, Edgar immediately approached him, his face filled with concern.

"Are you alright? Were there many assassins?"

He had seen the gruesome scene earlier, littered with severed limbs, and had no idea how many enemies there had been.

Of course, he didn't know those limbs all belonged to Bai Shi; otherwise, he probably would have short-circuited on the spot.

Bai Shi didn't explain. He couldn't explain. He decided to let the misunderstanding continue.

"I'm fine. The enemy has been dealt with, so don't worry."

Edgar nodded. As long as he was unharmed, that was all that mattered.

"As long as you're okay. I've had the room cleaned and the furniture replaced. You should get some rest."

"Okay, thank you."

Edgar turned to leave, but Bai Shi called out to him.

"By the way, could you please post an announcement in the castle? Tell the residents to report immediately if they see any strange blood."

"Alright, I understand."

Edgar nodded. It was surely related to this incident. An assassin who could appear silently within the castle was indeed something that demanded attention.

After Edgar left, Bai Shi turned to Erlisa.

"I really owe you for this. The outcome would have been uncertain otherwise. Thank you."

"It was nothing. I'm still waiting to hunt demigods with you. You can't die."

Erlisa recalled her brief encounter with Mohg and asked Bai Shi,

"That fellow from before, was he also a demigod?"

Bai Shi was a little surprised. Mohg was a demigod who had never appeared in the public eye. How did Erlisa figure it out?

"Yes, but that was just a demigod's clone."

"No wonder. Although he looked very different from the other demigods, there was a certain similarity."

Erlisa nodded.

"Speaking of which, how did you find me and get here? If I'm not mistaken, that blood should have blocked both sound and aura."

Bai Shi was indeed curious. Mohg's blood worked like a domain expansion.

Especially once it had completely coated the entire room.

"You were trying to break down the door at first, right? I caught a faint trace of aura and sound then."

"I came to take a look and realized something was definitely wrong. I immediately started trying to open it from the outside. Luckily, I made it in time."

Bai Shi nodded. At that point, the blood hadn't completely filled the room yet; it was still sparse, like a spiderweb, so the sound had managed to escape.

"I see. Your senses are incredibly keen."

"Any Zamor with dull senses would have been buried by the harsh mountain environment long ago."

Bai Shi lay on the brand-new bed, phantom pains wracking his entire body.

During the battle, he had been numb, with no time to think. No matter how excruciating it was, he had to grit his teeth and push through.

Dealing with the aftermath had also served as a distraction, so he hadn't felt much then.

But now that he had a moment to rest, the feeling was starting to catch up with him.

When his infinite health restored his body, his deadened nerves had been regenerated along with it.

That meant, a moment ago, Bai Shi had been enduring the full, unadulterated pain of his injuries every single second.

Bai Shi rolled back and forth on the bed a couple of times, trying to distract himself, but it couldn't soothe the pain.

'Right, I should check my achievements. I wonder if I can complete the one for 'Mohg, the Omen'?'

In the game, that achievement was obtained by defeating Mohg's clone at the bottom of the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.

Since they were both clones, could this one fulfill the requirement?

Full of anticipation, Bai Shi opened his status panel. The action served as a distraction, and the pain subsided a little.

An achievement lit up once more: Defeat 'Mohg, the Omen'.

A use of Fengling Yueying was also restored.

He had three uses before, used one on Mohg, and now got one back, so he still had three. Not a bad trade.

However, Bai Shi was more concerned about the criteria for completing achievements.

The clone he had killed wasn't the one from the game, yet he had still completed the achievement.

The standard was a bit strange. Or was it because of a special circumstance related to Mohg's and Morgott's clones?

It seemed he only needed to score the first kill on a clone of either twin to complete the achievement, regardless of the location.

Then again, this conclusion wasn't particularly useful. After all, the only bosses with achievements who used clones were these two brothers.

The other bosses with two achievements were all phantoms, and they didn't move from their locations.
