Capítulo 1141: Chapter 1141: Too Much Blood on My Hands
Fu Shiyan’s voice message came quickly, “I just happened to not have much work today, so I wanted to ask if you’re back. If you are, would you be free to have dinner together?”
Hearing his cheerful voice, a smile unconsciously appeared on Jiangli’s face, and she said, “I’m afraid I won’t have time for that. I have some things to do today.”
Fu Shiyan naturally inquired, “What is it that you don’t even have time for dinner?”
Jiangli vaguely hummed an acknowledgment and said, “It’s not confirmed yet. When it’s settled, I’ll let you know. I won’t be able to have dinner these days, and I might be busy for a while.”
Fu Shiyan sighed and joked, “How come it seems like you’re busier than me, the CEO boyfriend?”
Jiangli chuckled, “Yes, considering the current work situation, I am indeed busier than President Fu. Perhaps you should take a good look at whether you’re qualified as the CEO?”
Fu Shiyan laughed softly, “Seems like there might be some truth to that.”
Jiangli laughed and said, “Then I’ll have to trouble President Fu to get busier as well. If we’re both busy during this period, neither of us will lose out. Once this busy period is over, we’ll both be free to meet up and have meals together.”
Fu Shiyan listened to her voice and smiled, “Alright, that’s settled then. When you know you’re not busy anymore, give me a call?”
Jiangli readily agreed.
Fu Shiyan didn’t end the conversation immediately. Instead, he continued chatting casually with Jiangli.
He reported to Jiangli like he was giving a status update, talking about what he had been doing these past two days.
Although Fu Shiyan might not be a professional CEO, he hadn’t been idle these days either.
With domestic and international business restructuring, meetings were more frequent than cows, and sometimes he had to attend eight meetings in a day, often having lunch during meetings.
Sometimes, he wouldn’t even have a single meal all day and had to settle it with midnight snacks.
Hearing his complaints, Jiangli clicked her tongue, “That’s exhausting, huh?”
Fu Shiyan smiled faintly, “Isn’t it? Being a CEO isn’t easy.”
Jiangli silently laughed, “It must have been hard on President Fu then.”
Fu Shiyan sighed again with a dramatic intonation, living up to the role of a pitiful little thing desperately needing a hug.
Jiangli found it amusing.
Fu Shiyan chatted with her for a bit longer before the topic shifted to Qing Yue.
He asked Jiangli what Qing Yue was helping with.
Jiangli didn’t hide anything from him, “I encountered a Fox Demon in J City, coincidentally of the same clan as Qing Yue. I thought it’d be difficult for demons to cultivate these days, so I wanted Qing Yue to handle it. Whether to punish or spare, it’s their Fox Clan’s business.”
Hearing this, Fu Shiyan teased, “Looks like our Lili is different from average masters. I thought masters were like those in TV shows, mercilessly capturing and defeating demons wherever they go.”
Jiangli smirked, “I used to be like that too, but the killings were too heavy. Now I really try to avoid it unless necessary.”
Fu Shiyan seemed skeptical, “Too heavy with killings? How can that be?”
Jiangli’s laughter faded a bit as she set down her cup, “It’s true, but I can’t even remember how many people I’ve harmed or what they looked like.”
Fu Shiyan still seemed unbelieving, as if he took her words as a joke, laughing them off.
Seeing this, Jiangli didn’t say much more.
While she was casually chatting with Fu Shiyan, Xia Xin had already reconnected with Xun Tianhai, asking for the schedule.
Upon hearing Xia Xin’s call, Xun Tianhai immediately asked, “Has the Abbot agreed?”
