Xun Tianhai looked at Bai Changfeng, baffled.

Walking along the path outside Master Qu Lin’s home, Xun Tianhai was pulling out his car keys while asking, “Old Bai, what’s up with you today? Why did you suddenly stop me from talking back there?”
Bai Changfeng did not answer.
Not hearing a response, Xun Tianhai looked over at him.
He saw Bai Changfeng with a furrowed brow, head lowered, seemingly staring at the road, but in reality, his eyes were clouded, clearly deep in thought about something else.
Xun Tianhai raised his hand and tapped his shoulder, “Hey—”
Bai Changfeng snapped out of it and turned his head swiftly to look at him.
Xun Tianhai was startled by his strong reaction and asked with some confusion, “What the heck, Old Bai, what’s wrong with you today? Gone silly?”
Bai Changfeng’s eyes had a hint of fear, as if very startled. Hearing Xun Tianhai’s words, he swallowed, took a deep breath, and said, “Nothing…”
Xun Tianhai was not convinced, “Nothing? Then why were you ignoring me just now?”
Bai Changfeng looked confused, “Did you say something just now?”
Xun Tianhai: “…”
He stared at Bai Changfeng with a look of ‘See, I caught you.’
Bai Changfeng rubbed his temples, “I, I just suddenly felt a bit dizzy, nothing else…”
Xun Tianhai was skeptical, “Really?”
Bai Changfeng immediately changed the topic, “What did you ask me just now?”
Xun Tianhai looked at him, still seeing no issue, and said, “I just wanted to say, back at the house, why did you stop me from speaking?”
Hearing this, Bai Changfeng’s expression turned serious.

Xun Tianhai was puzzled, “The chairman, what’s off? Isn’t he just the same?”
Bai Changfeng frowned, “I can’t explain it, but I feel like my master doesn’t quite like the Abbot.”
Xun Tianhai didn’t understand, “Which Abbot?”
Bai Changfeng rolled his eyes at him.
Xun Tianhai thought it over and realized, “You mean Jiangli?” He was even more confused, “No way, when the chairman called me today, he was full of praise for Jiangli, even saying if Jiangli comes, our chances of winning are higher. Doesn’t seem like he dislikes Jiangli at all. Disliking Jiangli should be more like Uncle Pei Jiu.”
Bai Changfeng shook his head slightly, “No… I don’t know how to say it, but I’ve been with my master for so many years, and I can tell he seems to have some other intentions towards Jiangli.”
Xun Tianhai raised his eyebrows, “Other intentions?”
