Capítulo 1128: Chapter 1128: Heading to Jin Mountain
Upon hearing Xia Xin’s words, Jiangli simply replied with two words: “In a hurry.”
Xia Xin: “…”
Alright.
He would pretend he didn’t say anything.
Xia Xin swallowed back all the words of persuasion and stood by the roadside with Jiangli to hail a car heading to Jin Mountain.
The driver was somewhat surprised to hear they were going to Jin Mountain this late at night; as he started the car, he confirmed: “Are you really going to Jin Mountain? Although the scenery there is nice, it’s a mountainous area. Not only is there little to see this late, but it’s also unsafe. Do you have some urgent matter that you must go there?”
Jiangli leaned back in the seat, closed her eyes, and kept silent.
Seeing this, Xia Xin could only smile awkwardly and say: “Yes, there’s an urgent task we must attend to.”
The driver discerned they were reluctant to talk, so he simply nodded and refrained from asking further questions, then drove them to Jin Mountain.
Jin Mountain is located on the outskirts of J City, near the national highway, quite far. By the time they reached Jin Mountain, it was already past ten o’clock at night.
There were no other vehicles in the vicinity.
Before getting off the car, Xia Xin gave the driver some extra money as a deposit, asking him to wait for them at the foot of the mountain for a while.
With a cheerful smile, the driver agreed but advised them to hurry, as he couldn’t wait long.
Looking at Jiangli, who stood beside him, silent and unwilling to speak, Xia Xin vaguely said: “Alright, then sir, just wait here for us for an hour, at most an hour. If we haven’t returned by then, you can leave, okay?”
The driver readily agreed.
Only then did Xia Xin turn to Jiangli, “Ancestor, shall we go?”
But Jiangli replied, “You don’t need to go, just wait here for me.”
Xia Xin let out a sound of surprise, his expression incredulous, “I’ll just wait here? Then why did you bring me here, Ancestor?”
Jiangli seemed to ignore Xia Xin’s expression, gave a soft hum, and turned to head into the mountains alone.
Xia Xin glanced at Jiangli’s retreating figure, and then back at the driver.
The driver was equally puzzled, not understanding why a young girl would venture into the mountains alone at night.
Originally, he thought the girl and the boy were a couple, coming to Jin Mountain for a romantic night adventure.
Now it seemed, that was not the case.
With these thoughts, the driver looked at Xia Xin with a hint of pity in his gaze, took two bottles of drinks from the car, handed one to Xia Xin, and stayed by the car to keep him company.
Xia Xin felt a bit awkward alone, so the driver’s gesture was fitting. He thanked him, gave him some money for the drink, and then accepted it.
…
Once Jiangli disappeared from Xia Xin and the driver’s sight, with a swift movement, she appeared at the northern part of Jin Mountain in the next second.
Following the directions given by the Red Fox, she found a cave on a slope not far to the north.
Standing outside the cave, Jiangli surveyed the surroundings.
Even in the deep night, the darkness had no effect on her; it was as clear as daylight.
She could easily see everything around.
This place… seemed to have undergone some change, suddenly forming this cave.
If she wasn’t mistaken, there was originally no cave here, just a flat hillside.
Jiangli stood outside the cave, clearly sensing a familiar aura emanating from within.
She gazed at the cave, raised her right hand, and with her left hand, made a cut on her palm, letting a drop of blood fly out, floating into the air. The blood seemed to contain flames, dancing as if summoning something.
Jiangli stood there quietly, and soon after, a streak of Spiritual Light shot out of the cave and landed before her.
With a lift of her hand, Jiangli caught the light, which transformed into a Spiritual Bone in her palm.
