The Ink Falls on the Other Shore Flower

Chapter 100: Hesitation, Another 2 Years

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Hesitation, Another 2 Years

"Tsk, only nine scrolls left." Lor stopped the spaceship and looked at the nine neatly arranged scrolls in the Space Ring with a sense of regret.

He remembered those years ago when he had waited for three long years at the Nelson Wizard Tower just to get two Guardian Tree Scrolls.

Now these scrolls haven’t depreciated over time but have become even more valuable.

"I wonder if they’ll give me contribution points for this support mission." Lor muttered to himself.

Even though these demons were actually targeting him, regardless, he had completed the mission.

If they didn’t count it, that would be a big loss.

"Ding—"

Just as he was conflicted, the Continent Communication Device in the Space Ring suddenly rang.

Lor immediately took it out and connected, and a red-haired youth’s face appeared on the light screen.

"Meteor Mage, your battlefield contributions have just been settled."

The red-haired youth said respectfully, "Based on the conversion of contributions, you can receive..."

"Hold on a second." Lor raised an eyebrow and asked, "Did you just call me Meteor Mage?"

Listening to the name, it seemed like a nickname.

Lor naturally knew what a nickname entailed; it was something that only a Fourth Ring-close Third Ring Multi-Element Mage and Multi-Bloodline Fusion Mage could have.

But he really didn’t know when someone had given him a nickname.

Honestly, he felt he wasn’t quite worthy yet.

Even when he fully executed the Meteor Technique, it was only capable of 3.6 Ring power.

Compared to those Great Wizards with nicknames, he really felt lacking.

"That’s right." The red-haired youth blinked in confusion, "The Great Wizard who just sent me the evaluation results referred to you that way."

"Alright then."

Lor helplessly shook his head and then asked, "How many contribution points did I earn this time?"

Ultimately, it was just a title, no need to overthink,

Although he felt it unworthy now, once he reached the Third Ring, he would definitely be worthy.

"Two million." The red-haired youth replied.

"Two million?" Lor’s lips curled slightly, "Did they credit all contribution points to me?"

Typically, even without other Third Ring Great Wizards coming for support, these battlefield contribution points should be shared with the wizards guarding their positions.

In this era, those wizards relied on this allocation of contribution points to make a living.

Giving everything to him now felt a bit off.

"Yes." The red-haired youth nodded, "This suggestion was made autonomously by them after discussions, without any external interference."

"Alright, then I’ll take it all." Lor said.

No matter what those stationed wizards thought, it was a good thing for him, might as well accept it.

"Okay." The red-haired youth responded.

Not long after, once the contribution points transfer was completed, Lor cut the light screen, a hint of hesitation flashing in his mind.

"Now that demons have specifically targeted me, should I release that major weapon?" Lor pondered.

The situation was still relatively stable, the demons had only pushed the frontline a mere ten thousand miles inward in a span of a year.

If possible, he’d prefer to linger a while longer to slowly rack up contribution points.

As for the major weapon against demons, he always had it in his grasp.

"If I go that route, the profit won’t be maximized."

Lor shook his head, "Better to wait, as things are somewhat okay now."

"According to historical progression, even with my butterfly effect, they couldn’t possibly extract that basic rune within five years."

"It’s better to remind them when there are only five Guardian Tree Scrolls left, to also maximize interests."

In a previous life, the Betula Continent was the second continent to research that basic rune.

Once that basic rune emerged, the first turning point in the war would appear.

While it might not be significant against Fourth-level demons, it was incredibly useful against Third-level and below demons.

But there was a downside to this approach; Lor wasn’t sure how many contribution points he’d receive for providing the research direction.

If the contribution points weren’t plentiful, his carefully planned path to rise amidst chaos would be delayed, and subsequent plans would be disrupted.

Hence, he should delay as long as possible, avoiding rash decisions.

...

Time flew, and two years passed.

Lor, feeling somewhat irritated, tossed a scroll out of the spaceship.

A treant appeared behind the spaceship, intercepting all the pursuing demons.

With a flick of its hands, countless branches spread out, lashing at them mercilessly.

Thousands of demons perished in an instant.

"I thought I could hold out for a few more years." Lor glanced at the five Guardian Tree Scrolls in the Space Ring and shook his head with a bitter smile.

In his original plan, four Guardian Tree Scrolls should have lasted five years, allowing him to gather enough Divine Power Crystals to break through the Third Ring.

Then, he’d mix with the group of wizards researching Abyssal Demons for a year to propose the correct research direction.

But the demons seemed insane, furiously targeting him.

Despite frequently changing support locations, every time he completed about twenty missions, a group of demons would madly pursue him as soon as he cast the Meteor Technique.

"Sigh, whatever, I’ll just trick Bruno to mix into those demon-researching wizards." Lor sighed, taking out the Continent Communication Device to send a communication request to Bruno.

It took less than three seconds for a light screen to pop out from the Continent Communication Device.

On the screen appeared, none other than the representative Legislator Cooper, Bruno.

"Meteor Mage, what can I do for you?" Even after two years apart, Bruno’s attitude towards Lor was still respectful.

He had long treated Lor as he would a Fourth Ring Wizard, as it was only a matter of time as long as nothing unexpected happened.

As for if something did happen...he would probably face the same fate, so there was no difference.

"I feel that this endless killing is futile."

Lor furrowed his brow slightly, feigning difficulty, "The Abyssal Demons are simply too many, especially recently with the influx of First and Second-tier Abyssal Demons into the continent."

"Continuing this way, I really don’t know when it will ever end."

He didn’t want to directly propose to infiltrate the wizards researching Abyssal Demons; it would be too abrupt.

Raising the correct direction a year later would be even more abrupt.

Better to guide Bruno to invite him first, and then a year later showcase his talent.

Such seemingly trivial details, Lor consistently paid attention to avoiding.

"Yes, Mr. Lor, you’ve finally come to this realization."

On the other side of the screen, Bruno instantly became excited, "You can’t kill all demons, you should head to the capital of the Glory Empire to cultivate peacefully."

Bruno was so excited he even forgot to use Lor’s current title, calling him by name directly.
