Chen Lan saw that it was still early until dinner and the two little ones were sleeping, so no one would disturb her. She used her mind to open the mobile system and retrieved the video she had temporarily recorded of two enemy agents when she met them in a tea house during her visit to Longfu Temple that day.
Since she had time now, Chen Lan decided to draw them. In a flash, Chen Lan had a sudden idea. This system had everything for sale. If there were people who sold paintings, there should also be people who helped paint. With this thought, Chen Lan immediately searched the system and found the section for portrait painting. There were all sorts of painting styles. It could be said that as long as you had a need, there was always something here that suited your requirements.
Chen Lan used the search function to find a sketch artist. She stated her needs, inquired about the time required and the delivery time of the product. The other party promised that payment would only be made after the customer was satisfied. Without hesitation, Chen Lan edited the segment of the video where she had a close-up view of the two people and sent it. All that was left was to wait!
Chen Lan was browsing the system, planning to buy some snacks for herself, Mingzhe, Mingwei, and her two younger brothers. As she was placing an order, she felt a movement at the door. She looked up and saw a big head peeking in. Seeing Chen Lan look over, it immediately grinned. Chen Lan recognized it as Xiangxi and knew why he was looking for her. She immediately got up and walked towards him, handing him a large bag.
Chen Lan said to him, "Little Watermelon, everything you wanted is in here. Study it well and strive to be able to drive a car soon."
Xiangxi scoffed dismissively, "Little Basket, you underestimate your brother. Just watch! Alright, brother won't chat with you anymore, I'm going to get busy."
Saying this, he picked up the large bag and turned to leave.
Chen Lan took advantage of the children still being asleep to continue selecting. She also needed to select some filling snacks for her younger brothers as afternoon tea.
She looked at breads, toast, and cakes that could be used as staple foods. These were for consumption during the drive from the capital to Fusong, Jilin. There would be many elderly people and children on this trip, so she needed to choose foods that were convenient to eat, nutritious, delicious, and easy to digest.
There were no direct trains to Fusong, Jilin at this time. They would have to transfer several times, which was too inconvenient. Moreover, Huijia and Yaoyao were still too young, and traveling by train would be very inconvenient.
Chen Lan had prepared for the drive to Jilin long ago. Arranging for Xiangxi and the others to learn to drive and repair cars was one of the reasons for this.
The distance from the capital to Fusong, Jilin is over 1100 kilometers. There were many elderly people and children, and Xiangxi and the others had only just learned to drive. They also had no experience driving long distances. Therefore, Chen Lan planned for them to drive no more than 400 kilometers a day. They would set up camp wherever suitable along the way, allowing the elderly and children to stretch their legs. It would be a journey that combined sightseeing with travel, so no one would feel too tired!
As Chen Lan was pondering the matter of going to Fusong, Jilin, the children woke up. With practiced movements, she fed the two little ones and then put them in their strollers to lie down.
Chen Lan took out the snacks she had bought for her younger brothers earlier, packed them, hung them on the stroller's handlebars, and pushed the stroller out of her bedroom and towards the living room in the front courtyard.
Before Chen Lan got close, she heard the lively adult conversations from the front courtyard from afar, as well as the exclamations of Mingzhe, Wen Kai, and Wen Qi, those three mischievous boys. Especially Mingzhe's signature exclamation, "Aiya! My goodness! This car is too beautiful, I'm so happy!"
Hearing this, Chen Lan couldn't help but chuckle. Mingzhe was a child with a simple and easily satisfied heart, an outgoing personality, lively and generous, and very easy to get along with. One could see this from how he interacted with her two younger brothers without any reservations.
The people who were engaged in a lively discussion all stopped when they saw Chen Lan pushing the stroller and walked over to inquire about the solar-powered RV.
Chen Lan felt it was time to tell them her plan.
So she nodded and replied to everyone, saying that the car was bought by her father-in-law for the family.
It was prepared for the entire family to go to Fusong, Jilin. They would not take the train to Jilin, as there were too many elderly people and the children were too young for train travel to be convenient.
Chen Lan further explained that this solar-powered RV was initially for the five people learning to drive, including Brother Xiangdong, to practice. They would practice for about ten days, and then they would see the total number of people going to Jilin and decide whether to buy more solar-powered RVs, up to a maximum of five.
After answering all the questions raised by everyone in one go, Chen Lan let out a long sigh. "Aiya! My goodness! I'm exhausted!"
Chen Lan pushed the stroller over and saw Xiangxi still engrossed in studying the RV's manual.
She asked Xiangxi, "Little Watermelon, how is it? Can you understand it?"
Xiangxi replied proudly, "This manual is very detailed and easy to operate. I'm just not familiar with the names of many of the car parts, so I'm cross-referencing them with the manual."
Chen Lan nodded and said, "Then I'll leave the car to you. Once you understand it, help the others learn quickly, because the day to go to Fusong, Jilin is coming soon."
Xiangxi nodded, then lowered his head and continued to study the manual.
Chen Lan pushed the stroller towards Xiangdong and called out, "Brother Xiangdong!"
Xiangdong, who was circling the solar-powered RV, turned to see Chen Lan looking for him and turned to walk towards her.
Chen Lan led Xiangdong to a spot by the wall and told him about encountering the enemy agents at the tea house in the side hall of Longfu Temple that day.
Xiangdong was startled and quickly asked for the details of the incident. After understanding Chen Lan's reaction at the time, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Chen Lan said to Xiangdong, "Brother Xiangdong, I've already asked father-in-law to help draw portraits of those two people. It will probably take two days to finish! Once father-in-law is done, I'll give them to you, and you can use the portraits to report them."
"Oh! And one more thing, I almost forgot! There was a man in his thirties who worked at a tin factory near Longfu Temple."
Xiangdong nodded and said, "You did the right thing this time. Those people are desperate criminals. When we are weak, we cannot act rashly. This will help avoid harm."
"Leave this matter to me now, you don't have to worry about it anymore. Don't worry, I will make sure everything is arranged properly! I won't let the family be affected."
