Chapter 14 The Tyrant Appears

Bai Ye paused for a moment, then a smile played on his lips. It seemed he hadn't arrived late; rather, he might have arrived just in time.

As he mused, Bai Ye quickly stepped over the corpses of the Lickers and moved forward. Reaching the end, he found an old-fashioned elevator, but it was long gone, with only a few steel cables hanging there.

Without hesitation, Bai Ye slid down the cables and then cautiously peeked outside, keeping low.

It was a space similar to the upper level, but instead of glass jars, there were large, rectangular metal containers, each over three meters long. Black tubes were connected to the sides of these containers, leading to unknown instruments.

"Is this where Tyrants are made?"

Bai Ye's question was soon answered.

A loud bang suddenly echoed, followed by a figure crashing into a metal container with a resounding thud.

The person appeared to be around twenty-five or twenty-six, dressed in a red and black robe, with long hair tied up by a feathered crown. Two flying swords, one red and one black, hovered beside him.

This was clearly someone from a cultivation world.

While flying swords could be acquired on the World Battlefield, given how recently it had opened, only people from cultivation worlds would possess them.

Furthermore, this person's attire strongly resembled that of a Kunlun disciple he had encountered before.

Simultaneously…

The ground around them began to tremble, and a colossal figure charged forward.

It was a giant zombie, nearly three meters tall, its body severely decayed. Its back was a mess of rotten flesh, with some parts of its body pockmarked and caved in. A large hole gaped in its chest, from which a mass of decaying flesh bulged outwards. Its heart was exposed, and one could clearly see it pulsing.

At the same time, one of its arms had undergone a drastic mutation, becoming nearly two-thirds the length of its body. Its hand had transformed into a mass of rotting flesh, with fingernails like claws, glinting with a metallic sheen.

Tyrant Prototype T-001!

Bai Ye's eyes lit up. He had finally found it!

At the same moment…

The Tyrant lunged at the Kunlun disciple who had been thrown against the metal cabinet. It raised its massive claw, ready to bring it down on the disciple's head.

Just as the Kunlun disciple's head was about to be cleaved open, a red whip suddenly lashed out from behind, coiling around the Tyrant's arm.

"Junior Brother Mo, run!"

A clear female voice rang out, followed by a flash of sword light as a flying sword pierced the Tyrant's back.

Bai Ye cautiously poked his head out, looking towards the source of the sound. He then noticed that there wasn't just one Kunlun disciple, but three.

On the other side were a male and a female Kunlun disciple.

The woman wielded a red whip, while the other man controlled a silver flying sword.

The next instant, the Tyrant roared in fury. With a guttural cry, it dragged the whip, attempting to pull the woman towards it.

But at that very moment…

The man who had been struck and thrown against the metal cabinet gritted his teeth and shouted, "Hongque, Hei Ya, attack!"

The red and black flying swords suddenly shot forward.

The Tyrant abruptly raised its arm, deflecting the black flying sword. But…

*Thwack!*

The red flying sword bypassed the arm and plunged directly into the Tyrant's left eye, drawing a smear of blackish blood.

The Tyrant let out a pained howl and began flailing its arms wildly.

The three Kunlun disciples immediately leaped in different directions, widening the distance between themselves and the Tyrant.

Then…

With a screech, the Tyrant's claw swept across a side metal container, slicing through it with ease.

"Junior Brother Mo, you go right. Junior Brother Yang, you go to the right flank. I'll cover your attacks."

"Understood, Senior Sister Lan!"

The woman seemed to be the leader. Upon receiving the order, the two men spread out to the Tyrant's sides, one to the left and the other to the right.

"Kunlun Spirit Arts…"

"Sword Heart Communion…"

Both men simultaneously formed sword seals with their hands and then pointed forward. The flying swords hovering beside them darted forward.

Red, black, and silver. Three streams of sword light crisscrossed around the Tyrant's body, and soon, wounds appeared all over its form, with blackish blood splattering onto the ground.

Bai Ye shook his head. "That's not how you kill a Tyrant. You have to aim for the heart!"

Tyrants were different from ordinary zombies. While the head was the vital point for regular zombies, for a Tyrant, it was the exposed, massive heart in its chest.

Therefore, no matter how powerful the flying swords were, if they didn't pierce the heart, any number of wounds would be useless.

However…

"The folks from the cultivation world are indeed strong."

Typically, when the World Battlefield first opened, most chosen ones could only scavenge for "junk" in ordinary areas to slowly equip themselves. Those from worlds already filled with combat or war-torn worlds could venture into dangerous zones.

As for forbidden zones, they were beyond imagination; entering them usually meant certain death.

Yet, these three Kunlun disciples from a cultivation world had not only reached the deepest parts but also appeared to have a high probability of defeating the Tyrant.

Bai Ye could only comment on the inherent unfairness of the base combat capabilities of different worlds. When first entering the World Battlefield, chosen ones from cultivation worlds had a significant advantage.

So…

Bai Ye licked his lips. Should he do something now?

Bai Ye had no intention of giving up the Tyrant. However, the current situation was a bit troublesome for him.

The best way to deal with people from the cultivation world was to prevent them from casting their sword arts and magical spells. But now, those three had already unleashed them, and fighting three-on-one, Bai Ye couldn't possibly suppress all of them simultaneously.

Besides, the Tyrant was also a dangerous variable.

"Well then, let's stick to the old rule!" Bai Ye grinned. "When in doubt, pull a gacha!"

With a thought, Bai Ye casually waved his hand towards the side. Ripples appeared in the air, and a giant gacha machine materialized beside him.

The gacha machine allowed three draws every twenty-four hours. Bai Ye had only used two draws so far, leaving him with one last chance.

"Gacha machine god, bless me with a gold capsule. A red one would be acceptable too!"

Bai Ye muttered to himself as he grabbed a capsule from the machine, then looked at it with disdain.

It was a green capsule!

The higher the grade of the capsule, the better the contents. A green capsule was only the second-to-last tier.

However, as Bai Ye opened the capsule, his eyes lit up instantly!

This item was perfect for the current situation.
