Chapter 22 Goodbye Jiao Mo

Carmela was pleased with Li Xi. People with naturally strong souls were more resistant to her charm and could last longer without losing themselves. It had been nearly ten minutes, and the young man before her was still rational.

“What are you worried about? Let me teach you what pleasure is.”

Carmela whispered softly in Li Xi’s ear, her sweet breath making him dizzy. His eyes gradually became unfocused. Seeing this, Carmela’s lips curled into a cold smile. No one, regardless of who they were, could resist her charm.

“I’m already yours, what’s the rush? If I’m not mistaken, this veil is sealing you, sister. How about I help you take it down, and we find a hotel?”

Li Xi held Carmela’s body, his breathing heavy like an old ox pulling a cart. He appeared to be falling under Carmela’s enchantment, but upon closer inspection, a hint of clarity could be seen at the bottom of his eyes.

Unfortunately, Carmela never noticed the abnormality in Li Xi’s eyes. This was not entirely her fault, as Li Xi had never made direct eye contact with her.

“I didn’t realize my little brother had such discerning taste. However, you don’t need to worry about such a trivial matter; someone else will handle it.”

As soon as Carmela finished speaking, a colossal figure crawled out of the black mist mirror.

It had a pair of horns a meter long, a bald head covered in fine scales, and a gaping maw that seemed capable of swallowing a person whole.

Its thick arms made elephant legs appear weak, and it wielded a saber longer than Li Xi’s ceiling beams. Its two legs, capable of serving as city gates, and its entire body of muscles exuded explosive power, all indicating that this was a formidable Horned Demon.

Li Xi observed the Horned Demon from the corner of his eye. After a careful examination, he didn’t see any marks left by his steel needle on its head. Therefore, this was not the one he knew from before. He had initially thought he was lucky when a Horned Demon emerged, believing he could finish the unfinished battle from last time. However, it turned out to be an unfamiliar demon.

Since it wasn't a familiar demon, Li Xi decided to continue enjoying his embrace of the gentle woman. He had to admit, the beauty before him was indeed stunning and alluring. Her every move exuded charm, something that couldn't be cultivated but was ingrained in her genes, radiating from her very being. No man could resist such innate allure; even the most chaste and pure paladins might fall for her.

As soon as the Horned Demon emerged, its height of over six meters made it feel cramped. It couldn’t stand up straight, and the four-meter saber in its hand couldn’t be swung freely. It let out an enraged roar, scaring the lesser demons into a frantic rush forward.

The Horned Demon saw the two figures intimately entangled within the veil. A cold glint flashed in its eyes, and it shoved the saber horizontally. With a tearing sound, the veil was split in two. A yellow, illusory demonic pattern disappeared, and Li Xi felt the seal break.

“Carmela, it’s been years. Your taste has really declined. You’re even preying on minors. Aren’t you afraid you’ll break him in less than two minutes?”

A cold light flickered in Carmela’s eyes. “Tyler, my affairs are none of your business. If you have nothing better to do, go ahead and kill those humans in front to prevent any leaks.”

The Horned Demon, Tyler, looked at the low, narrow passage with a hint of difficulty. It uttered a complex incantation, and its body began to shrink with extreme difficulty. Within a few breaths, its nearly seven-meter-tall frame was reduced to four meters, just enough to pass through the narrow passage.

Tyler dragged his saber, as long as his height, and walked upwards. Carmela pondered for a moment, then flashed a charming smile at Li Xi. “Little brother, shall I take you down to the ground floor now?”

Li Xi didn’t say a word, but nodded repeatedly, using his movements to continuously caress Carmela, making her giggle.

Carmela stood up from the large bed. Li Xi, too lazy to move, clung to her body. Carmela carried Li Xi as she walked forward. The lesser demons they passed by glanced at Carmela, their eyes turning green, and then they lost all reason and pounced on the lesser demons beside them.

However, more lesser demons dared not make eye contact with Carmela and fled forward like they were avoiding a plague, scrambling past her on both sides.

When Carmela arrived at the underground space with Li Xi, Xinis was no longer as imposing as before, being chased and hacked at by the Horned Demon, who had regained its height.

The other mercenaries formed a circular formation, protecting Monk, and fending off countless lesser demons.

As for Monk, his five Level 3 combat puppets, originally used for combat, were scattered in pieces. The neat, massive wound around his waist clearly indicated that they had been cleaved apart by the Horned Demon’s peerless strength. He was now directing six Level 2 combat puppets to engage the lesser demons.

The battle formation they had formed was impenetrable. On the outside, combat puppets were slaughtering madly. From behind their shields, their long spears constantly poked and stabbed. Even an overwhelming tide of lesser demons charging at them would be shattered like waves crashing against a dam, unable to shake their formation.

When the Horned Demon had initially emerged from the passage and shattered five Level 3 combat puppets with a single strike, and sent Xinis flying with another, their hearts had dropped into their stomachs. Now, with Carmela, holding Li Xi, appearing, their faces turned as white as if they had been painted with a thick layer of whitewash, pale with fear.

Despite their current ease in slaughtering lesser demons like chickens and ducks, everyone knew that unless the higher-level demons were dealt with, killing a million lesser demons would be futile.

“Succubus.”

An archer, in despair, uttered Carmela’s identity.

Succubi were not strong combatants among the abyss races. Of course, "not strong" was relative to other demons. For ordinary human warriors of only Level 2 or 3, a Level 4 succubus was still an insurmountable opponent. The gap of two levels was like the distance between heaven and earth.

If it weren't for the Horned Demon, the Black Tiger Mercenary Group’s strength would have been more than sufficient. But now, a single Horned Demon could eliminate them all, let alone the lesser demons and the Level 4 succubus.

Li Xi stole another glance. Xinis, being pursued by the Horned Demon, was struggling to hold on. The white light of battle energy on his greatsword flickered in and out, a sign of reaching his limit. Monk’s situation, however, was flawless.

Li Xi was contemplating when to intervene. Should he act after they were all killed, or should he save them?

Monk, who was wicked to the core, was the last person Li Xi wanted to save. But the mission completion certificate was still in his hands. If he didn’t save him, Li Xi would have to complete two more missions to compensate for this failure. After coming out for so many days for this mission, it would be terrible if he couldn't complete it and therefore couldn’t win a prize.

Seeing Xinis’s armor shattered by the Horned Demon’s blade and his body heavily fall into the Black Tiger Mercenary Group’s formation, unable to get up for a moment, Li Xi knew it was time to act. If he didn’t, everyone would be dead.

With a dazed look, he moved up Carmela’s neck and then passionately kissed her lips.

Carmela not only didn’t resist but rather thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of kissing in front of so many people. She embraced Li Xi as if no one else were present, as she particularly liked proactive men.

However, as Li Xi wrapped his arms around her body, Carmela felt a slight doubt. The strength in Li Xi’s arms was a bit too much, causing her demonic body a slight pain. But this slight pain only made Carmela more excited.

Li Xi used his tongue to pry open Carmela’s teeth, and his hands formed seals behind her back in an instant.

“Fire Style. Great Fireball Jutsu.”

An unformed fireball was spat by Li Xi into Carmela’s mouth.

The high-temperature fire line directly reached Carmela’s stomach, where it quickly formed a massive fireball, instantly igniting Carmela from within.

Although abyss demons were masters of fire, it didn’t mean they were immune to it. It only meant they had a higher tolerance for flames.

Carmela felt something was wrong and tried to break free from Li Xi’s arms. However, no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t push Li Xi’s arms apart even a millimeter. At this moment, Li Xi’s arms were like two welded steel bars, firmly controlling Carmela’s range of motion.

Li Xi and Carmela’s actions were completed in an instant, with no outward signs, so no one saw the changes here. They all thought Li Xi was being seduced by the succubus and would be drained dry into a husk, when suddenly, red light emanated from Carmela’s body. She struggled to push Li Xi away, and then an unnamable fire erupted from her body. Within a single breath, Carmela was completely consumed by flames.

Before her death, Carmela couldn't utter a single word. It wasn't that she didn't want to, but her vocal cords were already burnt, preventing her from making a sound. She could only look at Li Xi with disbelief, her eyes filled with shock, suspicion, and fear.

Looking at Carmela’s final dissatisfied eyes, Li Xi guessed that perhaps he had been too hasty, causing his kissing technique to decline, and thus not satisfying Carmela. That was why Carmela looked at him like a resentful abyss woman at the end.

“I guess my technique needs some practice. Otherwise, displeasing our abyss friends would be a diplomatic incident!”

The sudden turn of events here naturally caught the attention of the Horned Demon and the mercenaries. The mercenaries looked at Li Xi with terrified eyes, doubting their own vision. This rookie mercenary had actually managed to deal with a Level 4 succubus, someone their leader Xinis might not even be able to defeat.

“Insect, you killed Carmela.” This change also drew the Horned Demon’s attention. Horned Demon Tyler stopped his pursuit of Xinis. Carmela’s death enraged him, and a faint flame began to generate around him, as if he were wearing a hazy fiery armor.

Li Xi faced the Horned Demon’s accusation with composure, spreading his hands. “We were playing with ‘flaming red lips,’ and she couldn’t handle it. How can that be my fault?”

“Insect, die.”

The Horned Demon roared, and the four-meter-long saber swung down towards Li Xi. The Horned Demon was confident that even if Li Xi were made of iron, this strike would cleave it in two.

Two curved blades appeared in Li Xi’s hands, which he instantly crossed, catching the Horned Demon’s saber.

“Boom.”

As soon as the curved blades came into contact with the Horned Demon’s saber, they were directly cut in two. The Horned Demon, excited, increased its force, wanting to deal with Li Xi like the curved blades. But at this critical moment, Li Xi released his grip on the blades and firmly clamped them, instantly trapping the Horned Demon’s saber.

However, the Horned Demon’s strength was too great. Li Xi had to divert his force underground, causing the ground within a five-meter radius to sink into a large pit.

The Horned Demon stared at Li Xi, who had caught its saber with his bare hands, in disbelief. His melon-sized eyes were filled with shock, as if he had seen an ant defeat a dragon.

“You… you…”

Li Xi smiled slightly. As expected of Tsunade’s divine power, capable of dismantling Susanoo. This Horned Demon’s strength was far inferior.

“Me? What about me? I’m just a rookie who just entered the profession, so please guide me.”

Li Xi stomped his foot, and his body shot out like a cannonball. Before the Horned Demon could react, Li Xi was already in front of its head.

He delivered a fierce knee strike to the Horned Demon’s chin.

“Crack.”

The Horned Demon’s steel-like bones were instantly shattered by Li Xi’s strike. Its head, larger than a person’s, tilted backward uncontrollably.

The sound of massive, comminuted fractures echoed throughout the underground space. Xinis and the others, hearing the terrifying sound and seeing the Horned Demon Tyler’s jaw, which even the best doctor couldn’t fix, gasped. Although such an injury had not occurred to themselves, they still felt an unbearable ache in their teeth.
