Chapter 313 - 14: "Impossible? Why."

Chapter 313: Chapter 14: "Impossible? Why."

Spring Mustachio couldn’t believe his eyes.

Just moments ago, that terrifying seaweed monster—who had knocked out the A-Class Rank 29 Golden Ball in one blow and effortlessly deflected all of his attacks, someone so overwhelmingly powerful that he couldn’t even imagine winning—had been utterly annihilated before his very eyes, disintegrated into nothing by a single flash of sword light that descended from the heavens!

"Was that... an S-Class hero? Could it be Atomic Samurai?"

He fought to stay conscious, forcing himself to look up at the figure.

"No... not Atomic Samurai..."

Though his vision was already starting to blur, he could still make out the outline of a tall, slender young man. It wasn’t Atomic Samurai, and in fact, his figure didn’t match any known S-Class hero.

Who... is this guy...?

At that moment—

The figure in the baseball cap came to a halt.

RUMBLE—

With a roar of fire and engines, something crashed down from the sky with a deafening BOOM, landing heavily on the street right in front of Spring Mustachio.

Spring Beard’s heart jolted.

Don’t tell me... another monster?!

He tried to lift his head, but his fading consciousness couldn’t hold on any longer. The last thing he saw was a blonde figure standing with his back to him—and then everything went black.

Genos turned and glanced at the unconscious Spring Mustachio, then at Golden Ball, who lay half-buried in the rubble nearby. He instantly recognized the two A-Class heroes.

Sweeping his gaze over the surrounding wreckage and the massive, bottomless crater in the middle of the street, he quickly formed a conclusion.

He looked toward Ron and asked, "That attack just now... was it you?"

Ron smiled faintly but didn’t answer.

Genos stared at him, eyes narrowing.

"Just like Sensei said... you are strong."

BOOM!

The ground beneath Genos’s feet exploded as his body vanished in an instant.

In the next second, he reappeared behind Ron, his fist blazing with energy as he launched a powerful punch.

But that attack was stopped—caught cleanly in a single hand.

Ron hadn’t even turned around. He hadn’t moved an inch.

Genos’s pupils shrank in shock.

This guy...

He instantly leapt back, retreating over ten meters in a flash!

"You don’t even say a word before attacking... how impatient," Ron remarked, still facing away as he casually checked his phone. 2:50 PM.

Genos stood ready in a battle stance, his gaze locked onto the young man before him, tension crackling in the air.

"Fine then—let’s begin."

The moment the words left Ron’s lips—

ZAP!

A searing laser blast from Genos’s arm cannon pierced through Ron’s head.

—But it was just an afterimage.

So fast!

Using life-sensing tech, Genos had anticipated Ron’s movement and raised his arm to block the incoming kick, but—

That monstrous strength was simply overwhelming.

BOOM!

Genos was launched like a cannonball, crashing into a nearby building and smashing it to rubble.

Meanwhile.

After blasting through a dozen red lights, Fubuki and Lily arrived on the scene at top speed.

They ran toward the abandoned part of the city.

"L-Lady Fubuki, why are we heading to this ghost town? Did a monster appear?" Lily asked, confused and out of breath.

"No."

"Then why are we—?"

"You’ll see when we get there."

Back with Saitama.

After running around the whole day, he finally managed to find a monster, defeated it with one punch, and happily checked off his hero duties. He stopped by a nearby discount supermarket, grabbed some groceries, and started heading home.

As he stepped into the abandoned district where he lived, he spotted Fubuki and Lily approaching.

"Huh? Isn’t that the woman from the udon shop the other day? What are you two doing here?"

Saitama, carrying plastic bags in both hands, looked at them curiously.

"You... you live here?" Fubuki asked in shock.

Saitama nodded. "Yeah, is that weird?"

Lily was stunned. "Someone actually lives in this ghost town?! And it’s a bald guy?!"

Saitama raised a brow. "So, why did you come here? Is there a monster or something?"

The words had barely left his mouth when—

BOOOOM!

A massive explosion lit up the sky in the distance.

Saitama turned toward the sound and blinked. "Genos?"

"Over there!" Fubuki immediately dashed toward the blast with Lily in tow.

After a brief pause, Saitama followed as well.

When the three of them arrived at the scene—

A figure crashed from the sky like a meteor, slamming into the crumbling street and leaving behind a massive crater at least ten meters wide.

Lying inside, his mechanical body shattered and sparking, was Genos—utterly defeated.

Lily’s eyes went wide. "Th-that’s the S-Class hero, Demon Cyborg?!"

"He was beaten like this?! What kind of monster could do that?! Could it be a Dragon-level threat?!"

"No... not a monster," Fubuki said quietly, looking in one direction.

Lily followed her gaze.

There, standing atop the ruins, was a handsome young man with piercing blue eyes and clean, shoulder-length black hair that floated gently in the wind. His arms were crossed. He stood spotless amid the destruction.

Lily stared in disbelief. "A... a human?"

Genos groaned and slowly climbed out of the crater.

Now fully aware of Ron’s strength, he raised both hands—his mechanical arms shifting as all his cannons locked onto their target, glowing with concentrated power.

"Incineration..."

"Genos," Saitama muttered, frowning slightly.

"CANNON!!"

With eyes blazing, Genos unleashed his strongest Incineration Cannon, the blast ripping through the street, vaporizing everything in its path with devastating force.

Fubuki and Lily were left utterly speechless.

So this was the power of an S-Class hero...

But as she marveled at Genos’s strength, Fubuki couldn’t take her eyes off the young man standing on the ruins—Ron—who hadn’t even tried to dodge the attack.

"He... he’s going to take it head-on?!"

No way...

This kind of destructive force wasn’t something even a martial arts master like Bang could withstand—

BOOOOOOM!!!

The blast ended.

Genos stood in place, panting heavily, his body smoking from the exertion.

In front of him, the street had been scorched into a straight, blackened path several hundred meters long. Every building in its path had been reduced to ash.

The ground looked like molten lava, bubbling with heat. The air shimmered with distortion.

Fubuki and Lily were completely stunned.

What terrifying destructive power...!

"Could anyone really survive that...?" Fubuki whispered—but then her voice trailed off.

Because from within that molten hellscape... a human figure emerged.

"...He’s still alive? That’s... good," Saitama sighed with relief.

Genos watched in disbelief as Ron stepped calmly through the molten street—completely unharmed.

"Impossible...!"

Ron vanished.

And the next moment, he was right in front of Genos.

Before Genos could react, a hand pressed down on his shoulder—and then slammed half his body into the ground.

The young man looked down at him and smiled.

"Impossible? Why?"
