Chapter 329: Chapter 30 - Ron and Tornado
Tornado descended slowly, landing beside Ron. She bent over to look at him and asked, "Hey, can you still hear me?"
No response.
Ron’s eyes were dull, lifeless—like a pool of still, dead water.
"You... are you seriously about to die like this? Tch, and here I thought you were something special. If you knew you couldn’t win, why’d you go in alone trying to act cool? You’re not even a hero..."
Even while healing Ron with her psychic powers, Tornado didn’t forget to throw in a few sharp remarks.
Bathed in a soft green glow, the bleeding from Ron’s wounds began to slow down. But the healing process was painfully slow.
Tornado frowned slightly at the miserable state he was in.
Half of his body had practically vanished—an injury like that would’ve killed any ordinary human on the spot. It was far too severe. Even with her psychic healing, she wasn’t confident she could save him.
Then, a faint whisper escaped Ron’s lips.
"D-Don’t... worry about me..."
"Who said I’m worried about you? I’m just repaying a favor, got it? Don’t get the wrong idea."
Tornado huffed arrogantly.
The green glow around her hands grew even brighter, flaring like emerald flames.
—In the sky.
Boros’s right arm had already regenerated. He clenched his fist, then looked down.
"Human... I suppose you weren’t the one I’ve been seeking. But I must admit, this battle was... exhilarating. Quite the rare thrill."
"But in the end... I am victorious."
"Prophecies are just that—prophecies. As I thought, there’s still no one on this planet who can match me."
He extended his restored right arm downward, toward where Ron lay. A massive energy sphere began forming in his palm.
"Forget about me... just run..."
Ron’s fading Tenseigan eyes reflected Boros high in the sky, and the massive blast gathering in his hand.
Tornado could feel the immense pressure bearing down from above. Her face grew darker as she heard Ron’s words.
"You think I’m the type to run away? I’m Tornado of Terror, the world’s most powerful esper! Why would I take orders from you?!"
Her eyes flashed with radiant white light. Her green hair shot up like wildfire as a shockwave of psychic power burst forth.
The space around Boros instantly distorted—her overwhelming force twisted the air itself, like it was about to crush him like a soda can.
But—
Boros only gave a slight shudder... and the power was dispelled just like that.
Tornado’s face went pale.
Such an enormous difference in power...
As Boros’s energy cannon prepared to fire, Ron gave a bitter smile in his heart.
He had really messed up this time.
He’d overestimated his own body... and severely underestimated Boros’s destructive power.
Not to mention, he hadn’t expected that blast to be laced with radiation potent enough to cripple his regenerative abilities by over ninety percent.
Even healing spells were barely working.
This was bad. Really bad.
He glanced at Tornado, who was still struggling to heal him. Her entire body radiated green light, her young, delicate face pale with effort. Sweat poured down her forehead—she was clearly reaching her limit.
Ron exhaled softly.
"No choice... we’ll retreat for now..."
Tornado blinked, caught off guard.
The next moment—
A pitch-black circular portal opened beneath them, swallowing Ron and the unprepared Tornado in one swift motion. Then, it closed.
Boros’s energy blast fired, streaking downward like a blazing blue spear.
Whoosh!
A figure clad in a yellow jumpsuit with a white cape suddenly appeared right in its path.
"Normal Punch."
The figure threw a casual punch—
And obliterated the energy cannon in one blow.
The sheer shockwave of that fist blew Boros’s long hair backward.
He stared in stunned silence at the bald man who’d just appeared.
"Who... are you?"
"I’m Saitama. Just a hero for fun."
With his plain expression and lifeless, bored-looking eyes, the caped baldy looked at Boros and answered as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
...
Inside Ron’s Infinity Castle.
Blue skies. White clouds. Rolling ocean waves.
Tornado sat sprawled on a tropical beach, staring blankly at the waves lapping against the shore.
"W-What is this place...?"
"A special dimensional space I control. You’re the first guest to ever be here," came Ron’s weak voice beside her.
"Dimensional space?" Tornado looked utterly stunned. "Just... who are you, really? What kind of pow—"
She turned her head mid-sentence—
And saw that Ron’s blood-soaked clothes had just been destroyed, completely exposing his body.
And so—
Tornado witnessed something she had never seen before in her life.
Her eyes widened. Pupils contracted. Her cheeks flushed a deep crimson in an instant.
"W-W-What are you doing?!"
She whipped around in a panic, back facing him, a mix of shame and fury swirling in her voice.
"Can’t you tell? I’m healing my body."
"Then why are you... n-n-naked?!"
"These clothes were drenched in blood and stuck to my wounds—it was uncomfortable. Plus, if I didn’t get rid of them, they’d interfere with my regeneration."
Ron replied with complete calm.
"And besides... looking at the miserable shape I’m in, is there really anything to be shy about?"
"Wha?! Shy?! Who’s shy?! I just think it’s disgusting, that’s all! Don’t flatter yourself!"
Tornado shouted in flustered rage, ready to launch him into the ocean with a psychic blast at any second.
"Yes, yes... whatever you say."
Ron closed his eyes and began using a special breathing technique, channeling the immense life force of his immortal body to slowly begin the restoration process.
"And how exactly are you going to heal yourself? Just so we’re clear—I’ve paid back the favor I owed. After this, I’m not helping you anymore."
Tornado crossed her arms and spoke, still facing away from him.
Silence.
She glanced over her shoulder.
There he was, eyes closed, seemingly asleep. A faint green glow shimmered across his body—representing raw life energy. The terrifying wounds were healing, bit by bit.
"What incredible vitality... Is this guy even human?"
Tornado couldn’t help but think to herself.
Then her gaze shifted slightly.
And her face went red again.
So that’s what a man’s body looks like...
This was definitely a first for her...
