Chapter 741 - Capítulo 741: 743: Boss Long Who Can't Leave

Capítulo 741: Chapter 743: Boss Long Who Can’t Leave

“It’s developed rather ordinarily.”

Hearing such a comment, Nian Shutong could now calmly accept it.

“You’re right, once you woke up, we could develop even faster.”

Boss Long, hearing Nian Shutong’s words, felt a sense of being needed and consequently quite significant.

His heart was a bit flustered too; this world was entirely different from what he knew, foreign to the point of not knowing what to do.

“Don’t worry, with me behind you, just go for it with confidence.”

Boss Long spoke with a bold spirit, his strong self-assurance on full display.

“Good, that’s what I love to hear.”

Nian Shutong didn’t put down Boss Long; instead, she inquired, “So, after we leave Blue Star together tomorrow, shall we make a trip to the Insect Clan Battlefield…”

“What’s up?”

Nian Shutong, observing Boss Long’s troubled expression, sensed that something had happened.

“That… I just can’t seem to get my words out right,” Boss Long faltered, which made Nian Shutong think the issue was quite serious.

“My dear Uncle Long, Dragon Ancestor, please spit it out!”

“It’s not anything major. Didn’t I say I was sealed on Blue Star? My primary purpose here is to protect Blue Star’s existence.”

Boss Long said all in one breath, eyes fixed on Nian Shutong who was staring intently at him.

“I can’t leave Blue Star.”

I can’t leave Blue Star, Boss Long can’t leave Blue Star.

Nian Shutong’s eyes sought answers from Boss Long, and she asked, “Is that it? Nothing else?”

“What else do you want?”

Boss Long could only see that Nian Shutong, who had been all ears just a moment ago, had now leaned back in her chair, giving the impression that what he just said wasn’t of much consequence.

“Uncle Long, it’s better for you to stay on Blue Star. With you here, I don’t have to worry about anything when I leave home because I know you exist on Blue Star, which gives me peace of mind.”

Nian Shutong’s words made Boss Long, who had felt somewhat embarrassed, swell with pride almost immediately.

“Of course, with your level of power, you can protect Blue Star all by yourself. With me around, you have nothing to worry about.”

Nian Shutong saw her Uncle Long boasting about himself, throwing a slight jab her way, yet she didn’t retort but simply asked, “Do you want to stay here, or come with me to where I live?”

“As long as it’s Blue Star, I’m fine anywhere.”

“Alright, then come with me to the small wooden house. However, let’s get one thing straight—you can’t reveal that you’re a dragon.”

“Why not! I’m a dragon, and I’m very proud of it!”

Nian Shutong looked at Boss Long, whose pride was beyond salvage, and said, “Who said you’re not proud? What I’m saying is to keep you as Blue Star’s greatest secret weapon.”

“Nobody knows how powerful you are, but you know it yourself. At the crucial moment, you make your grand appearance, a Giant Dragon descending from the heavens, rescuing everyone in their hour of need. That’s when they’ll see how powerful, formidable, and important you are.”

Nian Shutong’s mix of coaxing and truth took effect, prompting Boss Long to nod and say, “You’re quite the smooth talker, little girl. I agree.”

After agreeing on the terms, the pair returned to the small wooden house.

By the time they arrived, dawn was about to break, and Fu Yunhe had been waiting on the steps outside the small wooden house.

“You’re back.”

Fu Yunhe immediately stood up and said, eager to show his diligence, “Following your instructions, I’ve prepared everything obediently.”

“Not bad.”

Nian Shutong turned and held Fu Yunhe’s hand, introducing him to Boss Long, who had been sizing him up: “This is my Daoist couple, we’re already married, and his name is Fu Yunhe.”

Boss Long looked at the young girl’s Daoist couple before him with brows not quite relaxed.

“With such little strength, it’s no wonder your cultivation has been hard,” Boss Long said with a sense of resignation to reality. He looked at Fu Yunhe and said, “It seems there really is no one else.”

Nian Shutong kicked out in dissatisfaction, warning, “Times have changed, so let’s agree on some ground rules.”

“Alright, alright, I get it,” Boss Long dodged Nian Shutong’s kick. “No need to be so fussy. Anyway, since you’re following the little lass, you might as well call me Uncle Long.”

Fu Yunhe did not know who this Uncle Long was, but seeing his interaction with Nian Shutong, he understood that this was someone Nian Shutong trusted.

He respectfully performed a junior’s greeting to Uncle Long, sincerely calling out: “Uncle Long, this junior pays his respects to you.”

“Ha ha ha ha, very good, very good,” chuckled Uncle Long. “Although not strong, at least he knows his manners. Much better than the little lass.”

Nian Shutong did not stop Fu Yunhe’s respectful gesture but did give Boss Long a look that said, ‘that’s enough.’

Boss Long caught the look, shook his head, and, with hands behind his back, prepared to leave.

“Wait a moment, we’ll be leaving soon. Let me make arrangements for Uncle Long,” Nian Shutong hurriedly followed Boss Long, not daring to let him wander off alone; instead, she planned to find someone to keep an eye on him.

After some searching, she ended up choosing Elder Hua for the task.

“Elder Hua, let me introduce you,” Nian Shutong said. “This is Boss Long, I call him Uncle Long. You two being of the same generation can just get along with each other.”

Elder Hua did not inquire about Uncle Long’s origins, simply clasping his hands in greeting, “Brother Long.”

“Brother Hua.”

Boss Long imitated Elder Hua’s gesture and returned a title as well.

Afterward, Nian Shutong first gave Elder Hua some medicine, instructing him to take it daily and that she would be back once it was finished.

“Elder Hua, there’s one more important task,” Nian Shutong added.

“Is it to keep an eye on your Uncle Long?” Elder Hua guessed.

Nian Shutong laughed a bit embarrassedly and said, “You guessed precisely. My Uncle Long is quite unfamiliar with interstellar matters, so I’m troubling you to keep an eye on him and to introduce him around a bit.”

“But if he does anything inappropriate, you inform me immediately, and I’ll rush back here.”

Elder Hua nodded, agreeing to everything.

Nian Shutong was still a bit uneasy but had no other choice for now.

For breakfast, Nian Shutong and Fu Yunhe still ate with everyone else and formally introduced Boss Long. Everyone addressed him as Uncle Long.

Knowing that this was someone Nian Shutong valued, the group was not curious or inquisitive; knowing he was trusted by Nian Shutong was enough.

None of these people had a straightforward background.

“Little Fen, what’s wrong?”

The Little Pink Pig underneath Dou Dou was curled up into a ball, lying down too normally, nothing like its usual self.

Both Nian Shutong and Boss Long understood what was happening; Little Pink Pig was afraid of Boss Long.

“Dou Dou, it’s nothing. She’ll be fine soon. Probably just didn’t sleep well last night.”

Didn’t sleep well? Little Pink Pig?

Dou Dou, thinking of the Little Pink Pig who snored loudly last night, still decided to believe this explanation.

Nian Shutong glanced at Boss Long and transmitted a message: Tone it down a bit.

Boss Long: I haven’t done anything. They are naturally afraid of me; I can’t help it.

What could Nian Shutong say? Boss Long was right. The remaining eleven Zodiac Beasts weren’t really beasts, just Puppet Beasts with essence.
