Chapter 36: The Dog’s of Heaven

Chapter 36: The Dog’s of Heaven

Rain hammered the broken streets, washing blood into the cracks where the pavement had already given up years ago. Neon lights flickered through the fog, dying like fading souls.

A girl stumbled into the alley, appearance wise she was thin, short-haird, her jacket torn and soaked through. Blood trailed down her leg, bright red against the dull gray of everything else. She pressed her hand to the wound, teeth grit hard enough to squeak.

"Shit... Damn, ahhh... I need to make it back... I-I fuck it hurts." She hissed, slipping behind a rusted dumpster. The pain shot through her thigh like fire. She peeked over the metal rim, breath shaking. The air smelled of pissed, and grime due to rain. "Fuck, am I going to die here... She pondered to herself.

Then in her pain streaked mood, a heavy boots splashed down somewhere behind her. Making her hair stand in fear and anger, as seductive voice called out to her.

"Come out, sweetheart!" A woman’s voice sang, light and teasing. "Hiding will only make this worse for you ya know."

Nellie clenched her jaw. Her chest rose and fell fast. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a half-bent knife, it was cheap dagger, dull and rusty, she had a gun early but she dropped it when she duck to save herself from the explosion earlier.

Her reflection in the puddle looked ghost-pale. Eyes wide, shaking. She blinked hard, but then, faster than she can react something slammed into the metal wall behind her, denting it in. ’Fuck if I don’t find a way to escape, this damn exorcist is going to kill me too.’

The Exorcist’s laughter echoed through the narrow street. A figure emerged from the mist, long coat, dark gloves, the faint shimmer of scripture etched across her skin in gold ink. Her eyes burned faintly blue.

Behind her, the air rippled, black, sickly threads twisting into shape. A shadow detached from her back, crawling upward until it stood taller than her. A half-formed beast, its jaw unhinged like a broken marionette. Its body dripped a substance that hissed against the rain.

The girl swallowed at the sight, as a normal human being, she stood no chance against this crazy bitch, as she said to self, whispering. "That is definitely a high rank spirit, I am so fucked." Then the blue eye woman, looked her way, as Nellie was peaking from behind the trash, and commented as she clearly hears her.

"Oh, yes darling a rank three." She aid, her voice sweet. "A beautiful cursed type too. Beautiful, isn’t she? She has been hungry all day as well, now then, why don’t you just show yourself, I can smell your fear from here you know, no point hiding."

"Shit, she found me already." Nellie said, as tried to move. Her leg screaming with a hot pain that travel up her spine.

The woman’s boots clicked closer, as she took her time walking towards the alley, speaking as she goes along. "You should’ve known better than to rob a sanctified store darling. You and your little gang made such a mess. Still, the crime in this area cause by you troubled dogs had gotten so bad, we have gotten orders from the queen to kill you and any members from the Dog of Heaven on sight."

Nellie closed her eyes, she knew this was it, she couldn’t run from her anymore. Still her friends basically family all of them was kill by her. As such she expressed her anger.

"They are all dead." Nellie spat. "You already got them... Does killing us bring you corrupt fuck’s joy."

"Hehehe." She giggled. "Oh, I know." The woman smiled, brushing her hair back. "But hey atleast you ran, sad they didn’t put much of fight though. Still I sense no Negativity from you, I presume you are just a normal human...oh well, I think I can farm some negativity from you atleast."

She said as the shadow lunged forward, slamming against the ground with a sound like cracking bones. Its limbs stretched too long, claws carving the wet stone, with great speed.

Nellie dove aside, as the claw hand slice straight through the metal contain, but another slammed into her ribs, tossing her against a wall.

Her breath left her in a sharp wheeze. As she began to taste her own blood. The Exorcist approached slowly, humming to herself.

"Still have some fight left ha, and I was being generous too, that would have killed you instantly." The mysterious woman said. "Fuck off you cunt, if I going to die anyways might as well, go out with dignity, like hell I am just going to sit around and let you kill me easily." She said, wincing harder now. Meanwhile the shadow hissed, jaws splitting open like a wound.

Nellie raised her knife again, hands shaking.

"Stay back." She said. The woman laughed softly. "Adorable." The air pulsed with pressure. Scripture lines along the woman’s arm ignited, flooding the alley with golden light. The rain sizzled where it touched her aura.

Nellie’s vision then began to blur. The sound, the brightness, it was all too much. Still, she moved. She threw herself forward, stabbing toward the Exorcist’s chest.

The blade stopped an inch from skin. The spirit’s arm had caught her wrist mid-swing. Black fingers dug deep into her flesh, cold as rot. "Ahhhhhhh." She screamed in pain. The Exorcist however leaned close, whispering into her ears, it was clear she was toying with her. "Not bad, your quite durable for a normal human, how strange still...let’s see what you’re made of."

Her spirit twisted its arm, breaking arm hold. As the horrific sound of bones cracking could be heard alongside her scream. "Ahhh, hieiii... The knife then clattered into the puddle water, as Nellie fall to her knees.

"My, my, your not normal are your girli, Zalora actually felt some resistance there, hmmm... I wonder, are pheraphs a mutant." The exorcist said, as she looked down at the trembling girl, tears came down her eye, as she looked at the poor thing below, then, that when she saw it. Her hair was short, but, it hid it well. Moving her hair a bit, that’s when she saw it. "Oh my, I guess I was right, you are mutant."

At center of her head, was a glowing gold nocturnal eye, the scelera itself was a bright blue, the eye itslef looked at her. And Nellie could see her internal structure, heart, bones, veins, her entire body basically.

"Hehehe, well, well, lucky me, I could use a new shadow puppet don’t you agree Zalora she looked at her Negative spirit, who began to speak to her, then the woman looked back at Nellie and said. "It’s seem Zalora agreed, well then, time to add another one to the collection."

’I really am going to die here, damnit... sigh! Was Ophilla atleast able to escape....

She pondered to herself, but then something weird happen, the rain it started to slow down. Then suddenly the world turned grey as time itself stopped, no rather it slow down. However she could not move, yet she was conscious.

’W-What is this? Why can’t I move... No this crazy bitch she also stopped as well, what is happening here!?’ She question, but then a voice echoed in her head, it was the voice of a man as he said. "You look like you can use some help kid... Here what, do you want to live, I can help with that, say do you want to play a game!?"
