Chapter 308: Cheated
Without waiting for Feng Xiyan’s response, Bai Hanyun led him forward, their steps quick as they followed Gui Ying into the back courtyard.
Arriving in the back courtyard, Gui Ying waited for Bai Hanyun and Feng Xiyan, then pointed at a huge stone boulder nearby.
"Fairy Bai, watch carefully. This young master will put that stone boulder into this Qiankun Pouch."
Bai Hanyun snorted and gestured for him to proceed. "Please."
Seeing her doubt, Gui Ying shook his head helplessly. He then opened the embroidered scent pouch and snapped his fingers.
A second later, the huge stone boulder vanished, leaving a huge crater in the ground.
"Where did it go?" Bai Hanyun asked in surprise.
Hearing her question, Gui Ying snapped his fingers again. The next second, the stone boulder reappeared before Bai Hanyun.
Boom!
Before she could react, Gui Ying put the huge stone boulder back into the embroidered scent pouch and returned it to its place neatly.
Boom!
After that display, Gui Ying asked proudly, "Well? This young master doesn’t lie, right? This small pouch is a Qiankun Pouch that could hold countless items."
Coming back to her senses, Bai Hanyun nodded. "Alright, I believe you."
Gui Ying’s eyes lit up at her words. He stepped closer and asked eagerly, "Fairy Bai, do we have a deal?"
When Gui Ying was waiting for her answer, Bai Hanyun remembered the antique mirror’s weakened state after Gui Ying had stolen their merit. Her smile faded, and she shook her head.
"No."
Shocked by her refusal, Gui Ying exclaimed, "Are you serious? This is a supreme-grade Qiankun Pouch! Even those old monsters in the cultivation world might not obtain one in their lifetime. You really don’t want it?"
Noticing the flicker of desperation in Gui Ying’s eyes, Bai Hanyun glanced at Feng Xiyan. Then, tugging his sleeve, she pulled him aside.
When Gui Ying tried to follow, she warned, "Don’t follow us. I have something to discuss with Feng Xiyan."
"Alright, alright." Raising his hands in surrender, Gui Ying could only sit on the boulder and wait.
Once far enough, Bai Hanyun leaned closer to Feng Xiyan and whispered, "Feng Xiyan, do you want that Qiankun Pouch?"
The faint scent of Bai Hanyun’s hair reached Feng Xiyan, distracting him for a moment.
He hummed softly, replying in a daze, "The Qiankun Pouch does seem convenient... especially for storing supplies when I go to battle."
Grinning at his answer, Bai Hanyun said, "Good. Then we will cheat more from Gui Ying and give it to the generals. That would help you all a lot in the future battle."
Her attentive words warmed Feng Xiyan’s heart. In a low voice, he whispered, "Thank you, Miss Bai."
She smiled gently at him and replied, "Don’t mention it. You have given me so many gifts before. I also want to give you something good."
Making her decision, Bai Hanyun pulled Feng Xiyan back toward Gui Ying.
Seeing them return, Gui Ying asked quickly, "How is it? Have you made your decision, Fairy Bai?"
Bai Hanyun lifted her chin and said, "Give me seven Qiankun Pouches, and I will give you the merit."
The moment she spoke, Gui Ying nearly slipped off the boulder. He steadied himself and stared at Bai Hanyun in disbelief. "What? Seven Qiankun Pouches?"
Bai Hanyun nodded firmly. "Yes. Seven."
"......" Gui Ying was utterly speechless at her outrageous demand.
After a long silence, he rubbed his aching temples and said, "Fairy Bai, do you think supreme-grade Qiankun Pouches grow like cabbages in a field? Are you kidding me? Seven? You actually want seven of them? Why don’t you just go and rob people?"
Feng Xiyan, watching Gui Ying’s flustered expression, thought with quiet amusement, ’This is the first time I have seen Young Master Gui so speechless. Fairy Bai, you really are incredible.’
Bai Hanyun crossed her arms and said, "I don’t care. Do you think merit flows like water, available anywhere? If you don’t give me seven Qiankun Pouches, you must return all the merit to me."
Listening to what she said, Gui Ying clenched his jaw in frustration. He knew merit wasn’t something he could simply steal without consequences.
Asking Bai Hanyun to give him the merit in exchange for a supreme-grade Qiankun Pouch was already a compromise. Yet Bai Hanyun’s outrageous demand made Gui Ying speechless with disbelief.
Grinding his teeth, he scolded inwardly, ’If not for that old man’s recklessness, I wouldn’t need to steal merit at all. This is all his fault! Once I return, he will have to compensate me for today’s losses!’
Finally, with no choice left, Gui Ying reluctantly pulled out six more supreme-grade Qiankun Pouches from his spatial ring.
Bai Hanyun’s eyes curved in satisfaction as she collected them. Handing the black one to Feng Xiyan, she clicked her tongue and said, "See? Since you had more, why waste time pretending to be poor?"
Gui Ying clutched his painful chest at her words. Closing his eyes, he muttered miserably, "This is the first time in this young master’s life I have been cheated so badly."
Patting his shoulder, Bai Hanyun said cheerfully, "Alright, stop whining. I still want to see the other parts of this temple. Let’s go."
Without waiting for Gui Ying, she stored the six Qiankun Pouches into her bag, then took Feng Xiyan’s hand and led him back toward the main hall.
Watching their backs, Gui Ying let out a long, depressed sigh and muttered, "Heartless! You both are too heartless!"
Jumping down from the huge stone boulder, Gui Ying shouted as he chased after them, "Hey! Wait for this young master!"
While Bai Hanyun and the others were touring the temple, far away in a hidden mountain mansion not far from Shang Du City, Gui Xiaoxu was waiting for someone.
Sitting with his back to the door, he waited patiently with his eyes closed.
Ten minutes later, the door finally opened, and Ke Ting stepped inside. "Boss, Zhe Xi has already brought the person."
At those words, Gui Xiaoxu slowly opened his eyes. Rising from his chair, he said, "Let’s go meet him. It’s time to show him who the patriarch of the Gui Clan truly is."
"Yes, Boss."
