Chapter 307: Qiankun Pouch
"Miss Bai, what’s wrong?" Feng Xiyan asked softly, his voice carrying both confusion and worry.
Raising her eyes to meet his, Bai Hanyun opened her lips to speak—but she stopped short when she noticed some of the golden light particles drifting into Feng Xiyan’s body as well.
For a moment, Bai Hanyun was distracted as she watched the golden light particles seep into his body, enveloping him in an almost ethereal glow.
Coming back to her senses, Bai Hanyun asked, "Feng Xiyan, don’t you feel anything when you step into this main temple?"
Feng Xiyan tilted his head slightly, and though his tone was uncertain, there was warmth in it. "I can’t really put a finger on it, but whenever I come to pray, I always feel warm and comfortable."
Pondering on his words, Bai Hanyun wondered if that warmth Feng Xiyan felt was the same one she had just experienced.
After a brief moment of thought, Bai Hanyun scooped up a handful of golden light particles in the air, then opened her palm before Feng Xiyan. Looking at him, she asked, "Can you see what I just released?"
Feng Xiyan leaned slightly closer, his gaze focusing on her hand. When he shook his head, their eyes briefly met, and the closeness made Bai Hanyun’s heart skip a beat.
"I can’t see anything," Feng Xiyan admitted.
Seeing Bai Hanyun fall into deep thought, Gui Ying spoke up, "Fairy Bai, only those who carry my Gui Clan’s blood can see merit. However, you... are an exception."
The moment his words fell, both Bai Hanyun and Feng Xiyan turned toward him at the same time. As their shoulders brushed faintly against each other, they glanced at each other for a second before looking at Gui Ying.
Frowning slightly, Bai Hanyun asked, "You can see these golden light particles?"
Gui Ying smiled and nodded.
Staring at his calm smile, Bai Hanyun remembered what the antique mirror had once told her—that Gui Ying was stealing their merit.
Recalling this matter, Bai Hanyun’s expression darkened.
Without warning, she grabbed Gui Ying’s collar and shook him back and forth as she said angrily, "Good, good, good. I thought the antique mirror was lying to me, but it turns out you were really stealing my merit! Gui Ying, return it right now!"
Feeling dizzy from her shaking, Gui Ying tapped lightly on her wrist with his folded fan and said, "Fa... Fairy Bai, please stop shaking me. I’m about to vomit up my breakfast."
Not wanting to waste food or dirty the temple, Bai Hanyun pushed him back. Spreading her palm before Gui Ying, she demanded, "Give it back!"
Tidying his clothes and smoothing his hair, Gui Ying pulled his hood down and looked at Bai Hanyun’s angry face.
Seeing that she truly was angry, he sighed softly and muttered, "Why are you so angry? This young master only borrowed a little of your merit to help nurture my grandfather’s soul."
Although reluctant, Gui Ying flipped his palm, revealing a small mirror that materialized in his hand.
Recognizing the small mirror, Bai Hanyun instantly recalled the day she first met Gui Ying. Back then, he had also been holding this very mirror in his palm.
Connecting the clues, Bai Hanyun pointed at the small mirror and narrowed her eyes. "This small mirror must be the one you used to absorb my merit, right?"
Hearing this, Gui Ying muttered under his breath, "Why are you still remembering this..."
Catching his words, Bai Hanyun glared at him and demanded, "Stop muttering. Give back my merit."
Unwilling to give up the merit, Gui Ying pondered briefly, then flipped his other hand. A second later, a delicate light-blue embroidered scent pouch appeared on his palm.
Smiling at Bai Hanyun, he said, "Fairy Bai, what do you think of this embroidered scent pouch?"
Bai Hanyun glanced at it and replied flatly, "It looks nice."
Not seeing any spark of interest in her eyes, Gui Ying carefully asked, "Fairy Bai, would you like this embroidered scent pouch?"
Raising her brows slightly, Bai Hanyun sneered. "Since when would you be so generous as to give me something for free? I don’t believe you."
Gui Ying chuckled at her words. "Of course it’s not free. How about this? Give me your merit, and I will give you this embroidered scent pouch."
Rolling her eyes at him, Bai Hanyun retorted, "Do you think I’m a three-year-old child? Who would want that pouch? I want my merit."
Seeing that she didn’t know the pouch’s true value, Gui Ying calmly explained, "Fairy Bai, this is a Qiankun Pouch. Are you sure you don’t want it?"
The moment she heard the name, Bai Hanyun froze for a second before asking with a hint of interest in her voice, "Qiankun Pouch? The one that can hold countless things?"
Gui Ying nodded. "Fairy Bai is indeed very knowledgeable. Yes, this is a Qiankun Pouch."
Bai Hanyun burst into laughter at his words. Shaking her head, she said, "No way. Do you think I’d believe such nonsense? The Qiankun Pouch is a fictional item invented by authors to deceive readers. It’s not real."
Smiling at her, Gui Ying calmly asked, "Fairy Bai, where do you think those authors got their ideas? Have you never wondered how they could write about such items in detail and make readers believe them?"
When she heard this, Bai Hanyun’s laughter faded as she fell into deep thought.
After pondering Gui Ying’s words for a while, she looked at him seriously. "Seeing is believing. Prove it to me. Otherwise, return my merit."
Left with no choice, Gui Ying glanced around and said, "This place is too crowded. Let’s go somewhere else."
With that, he turned and walked out of the main hall, heading toward the temple’s back courtyard.
Watching his retreating figure, Bai Hanyun reached out, almost without thinking, and held Feng Xiyan’s hand. "Let’s go and see how he plans to prove it."
Bai Hanyun’s fingers held Feng Xiyan’s hand tightly, and she quickly pulled him along.
