Chapter 312: Simple Yet Bold Plan

Chapter 312: Simple Yet Bold Plan

Not wanting to disturb Bai Hanyun’s thought, Feng Xiayan sat quietly beside her.

Sitting across from them, Gui Ying observed Bai Hanyun for a while before asking, "Fairy Bai, what are you thinking about so seriously?"

When Feng Xiyan heard this, he frowned in displeasure because Gui Ying’s question disturbed Bai Hanyun.

Noticing his warning gaze, Gui Ying only smiled lightly and waited for Bai Hanyun’s answer.

A moment later, Bai Hanyun came out of her thoughts and looked at Feng Xiyan. "Feng Xiyan, you said that there are a lot of war prisoners from the Jin Empire, and that you want to use them, right?"

Feng Xiyan nodded. "Yes. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to win their loyalty, and I don’t dare use someone I can’t trust."

Listening to his answer, Bai Hanyun asked, "Besides the Yu Empire, do other empires and kingdoms believe in gods?"

At her question, Gui Ying raised his brows and listened with interest.

Feng Xiyan nodded again and explained, "Yes. However, every empire, kingdom, and tribe has its own beliefs and gods. Miss Bai, why are you asking about this?"

Bai Hanyun pondered for a moment before replying, "Since you said it’s not easy to gain those war prisoners’ loyalty, why don’t we show them miracles and change their beliefs instead?"

The moment she said this, Feng Xiyan’s eyes flickered. "Do you have a plan?"

Bai Hanyun grinned. "Yes. And this plan will not only solve your problem, but it might also solve mine."

Seeing both Feng Xiyan and Gui Ying looking at her curiously, Bai Hanyun smiled mysteriously. "But this plan requires timing—"

She then turned to look at Gui Ying and continued, "...and Gui Ying’s help."

Hearing this, Gui Ying smiled. "As long as this young master can be of help, I will do it for Fairy Bai."

Satisfied with his promise, Bai Hanyun clapped her hands and said, "For now, let’s go back and have a meal first. We can discuss the plan in detail after we fill our stomachs."

After she spoke, Feng Xiyan lifted the curtain and ordered, "Speed up."

"Yes, Great General," the coachman replied as he flicked the whip again. The horses rushed forward, and the wooden wheels rolled over the dirty streets.

Half an hour later, the horse carriage stopped at the main entrance of the Great General’s Mansion.

Stepping down from the carriage, Feng Xiyan led Bai Hanyun and Gui Ying inside. Since they were going to discuss Bai Hanyun’s secret plan, he brought them to the main courtyard where he lived.

When Huang Wenping heard they were back, he quickly ordered the kitchen to prepare some refreshments and a pot of tea.

As soon as they sat around a stone table in the front yard, three male servants arrived with trays. After serving the refreshments and tea, they quietly retreated.

Left with just the three of them, Feng Xiyan poured tea for Bai Hanyun and Gui Ying.

"Miss Bai, can you tell us your plan now?" he asked while placing the cup of tea in front of her.

Bai Hanyun took a sip of tea to moisten her throat before asking, "Feng Xiyan, is there a place large enough to gather those war prisoners?"

Feng Xiyan pondered for a moment before replying, "There is none inside the city. However, we can prepare one outside the city gates. I can ask General Tan to help with this matter."

Hearing his answer, Bai Hanyun nodded in agreement, then turned to Gui Ying. "Gui Ying, since you can see merit and golden light particles, you must also be able to use some magic, right?"

Gui Ying chuckled softly at her words and responded, "Fairy Bai, what this young master uses is not magic, but cultivation techniques."

At his words, Bai Hanyun’s eyes lit up. "Then, can you create mist or fog?"

Gui Ying raised his brows slightly. "Fairy Bai, what exactly do you plan to do?"

Bai Hanyun lowered her voice and motioned for the two to lean closer. She then whispered, "I’m going to pretend to be a god and summon rain. Doesn’t the Artificial Rain Cannon still have nine bullets? We can use it to create rain in front of those war prisoners."

At this, Feng Xiyan immediately said with a hint of confusion in his voice, "Miss Bai, why pretend? You are a Goddess."

Rolling her eyes at him, Bai Hanyun replied, "I told you already—I’m not a fairy or a goddess. I’m just an ordinary human like you. We are just coming from different worlds."

Seeing that Feng Xiyan said nothing and only stared at her, Bai Hanyun shook her head helplessly and continued, "Later, I will put on a veil, and Gui Ying will summon mist. Together, we will create an entrance that will leave those war prisoners in awe."

"With me summoning rain before their eyes, Feng Xiyan, your role is to let them witness the miracle, then provide them with enough food and water. I bet in less than three days, most of them will change their minds and willingly follow you."

Listening to her simple yet bold plan, Gui Ying asked curiously, "Fairy Bai, you said this plan would help Great General Feng and also help you. But from what this young master heard, this young master doesn’t see how you gain anything from this plan."

Bai Hanyun shook her index finger playfully at Gui Ying. "No, no, no. If those people change their beliefs, what I gain will be far more valuable than what Feng Xiyan gains."

Hearing this, Gui Ying’s eyes flickered as he asked, "You mean... what you want is merit?"

Bai Hanyun nodded at his words.

Letting out a sigh, she rubbed the red mark on her wrist and explained, "From my experiences since meeting this antique mirror, I believe it has already used up all its energy to send me here. To replenish its energy and return to my world, I need a vast amount of merit."
