Chapter 311: True Master

Chapter 311: True Master

Listening to Gui Zongji’s words, Gui Xiaoxu chuckled coldly. "Uncle? Is he worthy?"

After saying that, Gui Xiaoxu kicked Gui Sihong in the stomach.

"Ugh!" Gui Sihong curled in pain as he coughed out a mouthful of blood.

"Sihong!" Gui Zongji shouted in distress when he saw this, then frowned deeply as he looked at Gui Xiaoxu. "Gui Xiaoxu, don’t go too far!"

Sitting back on the couch, Gui Xiaoxu played with his gun and asked, "Was it you who sent the assassins after Bai Hanyun?"

The moment his words fell, Gui Zongji’s expression changed slightly.

Masking his emotions with a slight smile, he replied, "Xiaoxu, you know I retired many years ago and now live in seclusion. I don’t know who Bai Hanyun is, let alone anything about assassins."

Gui Xiaoxu grew tired of their excuses and calmly said, "I know that Xue Wu Gang belongs to you. I also know they accepted a bounty from Bai Yansheng to assassinate Bai Hanyun. But you must also know that Bai Hanyun is under my protection."

He paused, then fixed Gui Zongji with a cold stare and added, "How dare you touch someone under my protection?"

Shuddering under Gui Xiaoxu’s cold gaze, Gui Zongji’s fingers tightened around his cane as chill ran down his spine.

After a moment of silence, he raised his chin and asked, "So what if I did order the assassination? Can you kill me? Have you forgotten what your grandfather said on his deathbed?"

Gui Xiaoxu was silent for a while before suddenly bursting into laughter. "Ha ha ha!"

Not knowing why Gui Xiaoxu laughed, Gui Zongji suddenly felt a bad premonition rise in his heart.

When the laughter stopped, Gui Xiaoxu said, "Very well. Since the dogs are disobedient, there is no need to keep them."

The instant his words fell, Gui Zongji’s eyes flickered coldly as he ordered, "Kill him!"

But before his men could make a move, they suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Seeing this, Gui Zongji’s eyes widened in disbelief. The next instant, he looked up to the second floor of the sitting room and saw snipers positioned there.

’Damn it! This crazy bastard really plans to kill us all!’

With all his men eliminated, Gui Zongji knew there was no way to kill Gui Xiaoxu today. Since the hard way had failed, he could only try the soft way.

Clenching his cane, he said with a forced smile, "Xiaoxu, this is a misunderstanding."

"Do you think I’m a three-year-old child?" Gui Xiaoxu sneered, then ordered calmly, "Drag them all to the dungeon. I want the answer within three hours."

"Yes, Boss." Ke Ting nodded and motioned to his men.

At his signal, the men in black grabbed Gui Zongji, Gui Sihong, and his family, and dragged them away.

"Let me go!" Gui Zongji shouted angrily.

Seeing the men in black ignore him, he roared at the top of his lungs, "Gui Xiaoxu, you can’t kill me! Your grandfather promised me the first branch wouldn’t touch the second! Gui Xiaoxu!"

The cursing gradually faded away, and the remaining man closed the door, completely blocking Gui Zongji’s voice.

Handing the gun back to Ke Ting, Gui Xiaoxu said coldly, "After you get the answer, kill them all. Don’t leave a single dog alive."

Sensing Gui Xiaoxu’s murderous intent, Ke Ting knew he was determined to purge the Gui Clan today. He replied firmly, "Yes, Boss."

After dealing with the second branch, Gui Xiaoxu calmed down and asked, "Any news about Miss Bai?"

Ke Ting shook his head. "Not yet. Besides us, Miss Bai’s bodyguards and Yu Xiangyu are also searching for her. But none of them or our people have found her. It’s as if Miss Bai vanished without a trace."

Listening to Ke Ting’s report, Gui Xiaoxu fell into deep thought. After a long silence, he asked, "Ke Ting, do you think she went to that place?"

As Gui Xiaoxu’s most trusted right-hand man and childhood best friend, Ke Ting knew the secret of the Gui Clan and understood the place he was referring to.

Lowering his voice, Ke Ting replied, "Based on the evidence we have gathered so far, there is a possibility that the Gui Clan’s heirloom is in Miss Bai’s hands, and that she knows how to activate it."

"Also, the place where she disappeared shows no trace of blood or footprints. Therefore, the probability that she went to that place is quite high."

Gui Xiaoxu nodded in agreement with Ke Ting’s analysis.

He thought for a few seconds and then said, "You are right. For now, have our men block off the place where Miss Bai disappeared and keep a close eye on the movements of her bodyguards and the Yu Group. If there are any new clues, report to me immediately."

"Yes, Boss."

After giving the order, Gui Xiaoxu seemed to recall something and added, "I almost forgot. Reclaim everything we have given to the second and third branches over the past thousand years. Also, strip them of their status as Gui Clan descendants."

He sneered and continued, "Let them carve into their souls and bodies who their true master is. From now on, the members of the second and third branches will return to their original status. The slaves and servants of my Gui Clan."

Standing two steps behind him, Ke Ting shuddered under Gui Xiaoxu’s oppressive aura. Lowering his head, he replied, "I will take care of it immediately."

"Mhm. I will leave this matter to you," Gui Xiaoxu said as he walked out of the sitting room.

After Gui Xiaoxu left, Ke Ting took out his phone and made a few calls.

Meanwhile, Bai Hanyun, Feng Xiyan, and Gui Ying had just finished touring the temple.

Walking out of the main entrance, Bai Hanyun turned to glance back at the temple one more time before climbing into the horse carriage with Feng Xiyan’s help.

As the coachman flicked his whip and drove them back toward the Great General’s Mansion, Feng Xiyan noticed that Bai Hanyun was deep in thought.
