Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Wine Tasting Competition

Jade Lockwood was relentless: "In that case, let’s make a bet. If you win, I’ll introduce you to vika. Although not as famous as the masters, they are the most renowned perfumer among the Lockwood Family and have collaborated with us for generations."

I have to admit, this offer tempted Nora Northwood a bit.

She knew her shortcomings. Although she had some minor skills in perfumery, she lacked the expertise of the real perfumers.

If someone could give her a few pointers, she could definitely learn something from it.

After thinking for a moment, she wasn’t so resistant anymore.

"But if you lose, you have to publicly admit that you cheated last time you won." Jade Lockwood wouldn’t let go of this matter.

Nora Northwood was a bit displeased. She hadn’t cheated, but she was more curious before anything else: "What do you want to compete with me in?"

"Wine tasting."

As Jade Lockwood finished speaking, a gasp emanated from the crowd around them.

Wine tasting? That girl was just an ordinary person; how could she possibly compete with Jade Lockwood?

This young lady was practically cheating, wasn’t she?

Although everyone felt it was unfair, nobody dared to say it out loud.

Everyone thought Nora Northwood would be somewhat nervous, but to their surprise, she merely nodded and agreed: "Alright, I’ll compete with you."

This calm expression left everyone present momentarily stunned. They couldn’t help but feel amazed—could this ordinary girl actually know something about wine tasting?

Nora Northwood didn’t care how the people around her viewed her. Her confident stance alone was enough to draw everyone’s attention.

Even Jasper Sinclair, standing upstairs, was a bit surprised.

How had he not known Nora Northwood had this skill? Suddenly, he was a bit worried that she might embarrass herself.

"Tell the organizers over there that when the time comes, don’t let her lose too badly."

Louis Hayes, naturally understanding who he meant, quickly nodded and went to take care of it.

On the first floor, upon hearing that Jade Lockwood was going to compete in wine tasting with an ordinary girl, everyone flocked over to watch the spectacle.

They privately discussed just how many wines Nora Northwood could correctly identify.

"There’s really no suspense, right? Household like the Lockwood Family has seen every kind of wine; how could they possibly lose to an ordinary person?"

"I don’t even think it’s necessary to continue; she’ll lose anyway."

Lily Sloan had initially gone to greet a friend of her father’s and, upon turning back, noticed the commotion.

She quickly squeezed into the crowd and listened to what was happening there.

Instead of worrying about her friend, her first reaction was to look at Jade Lockwood with a face full of silent contemplation.

Soon, a waiter came over carrying trays of wine.

"Nora, are you sure you’re okay?" Seeing that things were about to start, she still asked with concern.

She wasn’t worried about Nora’s ability, just her alcohol tolerance.

"Relax, a little won’t be a problem." Nora Northwood patted her shoulder.

The wine tasting began. She picked up the glass next to her, first sniffing the aroma, then observing the color, and finally taking a small sip to savor it.

Watching her actions, the crowd couldn’t help but wonder if she really had some skills.

After a while, both of them opened their eyes simultaneously and casually wrote down the name of the wine on paper.

"Beaujolais."

The waiter glanced at it and signaled that both had answered correctly.

"How is that possible?" Jade Lockwood’s expression turned a bit unsightly—had this woman tasted it before?
