Chapter 62: A Mysterious Sense of Familiarity

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: A Mysterious Sense of Familiarity

"She guessed six out of eight correctly." Elaine stood up, murmuring.

This indeed is a promising talent!

"It’s impossible!" Jade Lockwood stood up, with a look that could eat Nora Northwood alive.

As someone born into a Perfumery House, she only guessed half correctly. Why could this ordinary person do better?

"Why do you think this contains blue orchid instead of white orchid?"

Elaine pointed to a sachet and asked. Although blue orchid and white orchid are similar, their scents differ after drying, though the difference is subtle and not easily distinguishable unless smelled carefully.

Nora Northwood smiled sheepishly.

"It’s a coincidence. Previously, when I was blending sachets, I happened to place the blue orchid and white orchid together, so the unique scent they create together left a strong impression on me."

After she finished, a hint of appreciation flashed in Elaine’s eyes.

Not bad, she didn’t become complacent over what she could do.

Jade Lockwood was inwardly furious, almost grinding her teeth to pieces, embarrassed to have lost face in such a situation.

A descendant of a Perfumery House couldn’t identify as many scents as an ordinary person.

If word got out, negotiations for a family alliance with the Sinclair Family might fail again.

Elaine continued with her questions, all of which Nora answered, except for certain professional knowledge she didn’t understand, but regarding scents, she responded fluently.

"Good!" The admiration in her eyes was unmistakable. If she hadn’t already taken Yuna Hughes as a pupil, she would definitely consider taking this girl under her wing.

"I don’t accept this. There must be something fishy going on." Jade Lockwood suddenly stood up.

"What is unacceptable?" Elaine was not angry; instead, she smiled and let her speak.

"The scent ingredients are complex. I don’t believe she identified them herself. Someone just mentioned they saw her with Young Master Morgan. Although I know I shouldn’t doubt those around the mentor, I can’t accept such results on behalf of the Lockwood Family. I want a competition with her!"

Her words caused a stir among those present.

A perfumery family competing against an ordinary person wouldn’t be honorable, even if they won.

Jade Lockwood couldn’t care about anything else now; she couldn’t allow this woman to overshadow her.

"What’s your decision, miss?" Elaine didn’t immediately agree but instead asked for Nora’s viewpoint.

"Sorry, I decline. Today was just a stroke of luck in winning the competition. Miss Lockwood need not fret. The Lockwood Family is a Perfumery House and naturally wouldn’t lose to me. Today, the master made the challenge harder deliberately to test us, and I happened to stumble upon the right answers."

Nora’s words left everyone silent, and no one dared to call her naïve anymore.

Jade Lockwood’s face turned red then white; she was speechless for a moment.

Someone started clapping, and then applause filled the room.

The episode didn’t continue for long, as the event needed to proceed, and Elaine couldn’t spare more time.

She called Vincent Morgan to bring the gift box and carefully placed the perfume inside.

"Girl, I’m not taking any new students, but if fate allows, I could teach you a couple of tricks next time we meet." Her eyes were full of kindness.

For some reason, from the first meeting, she felt a natural affinity with this girl.

"Thank you, master." Nora Northwood bowed deeply, received the items, and exited the stage.

She held the perfume, unable to calm herself down, exhilarated and speechless.

The event concluded, and as the master was about to leave, seeing no interest in the remaining activities, she turned to leave.

"Hey, you, sell me the perfume you’re holding; you name the price." Jade Lockwood stopped her, speaking with an air of arrogance.
