Chapter 64: Chapter 64: He’s Jealous
Sitting in the car, thinking of Nora’s confident expression when she mentioned fragrances, he instinctively curled his lips.
He didn’t expect this little woman to know so much.
With a light laugh, it seems he still doesn’t know his little wife well enough.
"President Sinclair, are we heading back to the company or..." Louis Hayes asked.
"Head back to Southwood Court, I won’t be going this afternoon." He waved his hand, stopping at a spot some distance from the community.
Walking forward with his hands in his pockets, he recalled the attitude of that Lockwood Family woman towards Nora, and his eyes darkened unconsciously.
Although he didn’t like this little woman much, he couldn’t tolerate anyone bullying Nora. After all, she was his wife, and being bullied meant someone was stepping over him, didn’t it?
He reasoned with himself like this, then sent a message to Louis Hayes, terminating cooperation with the Lockwood Family. The penalty would be taken according to the contract, provided the Lockwood Family didn’t have any leverage over him.
"Mr. Sinclair? How come you’re back so early today?" Nora had just gotten out of the taxi when she saw him.
Jasper Sinclair turned to look; the cheongsam she picked was quite nice.
Her slender waist was exceptionally alluring, and her skin was naturally fair, stirring up a ticklish feeling in one’s heart.
"You are not allowed to dress like this again. If you need something for an event, let me know, and I’ll find you a dress."
He felt strangely uncomfortable at the thought of her good figure being seen by others.
Nora was taken aback for a moment, "Isn’t this quite nice?"
Standing in front of the glass door, she looked herself over, finding nothing inappropriate.
"It’s nothing, I just said you can’t wear it, so you can’t. Look how tight it is; if someone saw..."
"Mr. Sinclair is jealous?" She thought it over and felt this was the most reasonable explanation.
She suddenly grinned, it seemed he wasn’t as indifferent as he seemed.
"How is that possible! How could I be jealous, don’t talk nonsense." Jasper Sinclair bristled like an annoyed cat, "I just worry you might run into trouble. You know how many weirdos there are in society nowadays."
Scratching his head in discomfort, he huffed and walked forward briskly.
"Yes, yes, Mr. Sinclair would never be jealous." Nora giggled. The longer they spent together, the bolder she became, and now she could even joke around with Mr. Sinclair.
...
After this banquet, Nora became quite popular.
Everyone wanted to know who she really was, even better than the Perfumery House.
Consequently, the flower shop run by Nora and Lily became lively as well.
However, Aaron Lowell had been visiting the flower shop more frequently. Previously, he would come two to three times a week, but now he was almost there every day. Without much reason, he’d sit for a while before leaving again.
That day, Nora was still studying sachets, and out of the corner of her eye, she noticed him coming again, causing her brow to furrow.
"Lily, did you cause any trouble recently? Why is my uncle coming here without any reason?" Her tone was full of confusion.
Lily Sloan opened her mouth, but words failed her, leaving her to only say, "Probably because I skipped the matchmaking my mother set up."
She considered saying her uncle might not be here for her.
Initially, she didn’t understand, but gradually she realized every time her uncle went out for meals, he ordered dishes that Nora loved, and every conversation with her revolved around Nora’s affairs, now his gaze was even less concealed.
Her uncle was just short of sticking a ’I have a romantic interest in Nora’ sign on his face.
Unfortunately, Nora was already married, so it seemed she’d have to talk to her uncle when she got the chance.
