Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Scumbag, Get Out
Nora Northwood pursed her red lips.
If it were in the past, she would definitely agree, but things are different now.
Christian Quinn’s words were like daggers, cutting into her heart repeatedly.
Taking a deep breath, she tried her best to adjust her state of mind.
"Since you and I have broken up and have nothing to do with each other, I have no obligation to give it for free. But there are some for sale in the store, Young Master Quinn can pay for it."
Her tone was calm, her almond eyes void of any other emotions.
Lily Sloan looked at Nora, then at Christian Quinn beside her, the atmosphere between the two was truly strange.
But no matter what, she was firmly standing by her friend’s side.
Besides, she didn’t like Christian Quinn’s attitude at all today, as if he was ordering around his own servants.
"Eldest Young Master Quinn, surely the Quinn Family can afford this little bit of money, right? Since you’re no longer family, how can you have the nerve to take advantage of someone?" she retorted sharply.
A while ago, the Quinn Family made a fortune in business, and it spread among acquaintances. Although Christian Quinn didn’t say anything, his pride as the Eldest Young Master was evident on his face.
The back-and-forth between the two was exceedingly harsh, making Christian’s complexion turn unsightly.
The Eldest Young Master was not one to withstand such ’humiliation’, he sneered and looked at Nora Northwood in front of him.
The eyes that were once full of love were now filled with disdain and disgust.
"My mom was right, a woman like you is only after material things, being with me just for the money, even asking for the dowry of 180,000. Do you even think you’re worth it? Thank goodness I didn’t let you enter the doors of the Quinn Family. Thinking about being with you for so long, I feel unlucky."
Spitting his words without mercy, Christian was relentless.
Upon hearing this, Lily Sloan grasped the situation to some extent. Seeing her friend’s pale face, she wisely didn’t ask further questions.
Nora gripped her fists tightly: "If I’m so materialistic, then please, Young Master Quinn, go somewhere else to buy your fragrance. I said it, treating the dowry as if you lent it to me, it’s your Quinn Family that wants something for nothing, isn’t it?"
Asking for the dowry and then breaking up, wasn’t it just betting that she couldn’t live without Christian Quinn?
The faces of the Quinn Family, she would never forget in this lifetime!
"You!" Christian pointed at her, about to curse.
But the next second, he was splashed with a bucket of water, his high-end suit soaking wet, looking utterly ridiculous.
"Get out, scumbag, our shop won’t die for not doing business with you!" Lily Sloan glared at him menacingly.
Seeing that Christian seemed intent on stepping forward again, she picked up another bucket of water nearby.
"Fine, fine!" He was furious, pointing at the two of them, "Just you wait, I’ll get even with you."
After speaking, he turned and left with big strides.
Once he was gone, Nora couldn’t help but feel a bit worried; she knew Christian’s character all too well.
"Lily..." she hesitated as she spoke.
Unexpectedly, Lily Sloan just patted her shoulder, "He’s just a scumbag, better that he’s gone."
Just then, someone came into the shop, so Nora didn’t say anything more and got busy with work.
After closing up in the evening, she bade farewell to Lily Sloan and returned to Southwood Court.
After leaving the Ford Family, she had to make plans for her future. Quentin Ford had always hindered her from continuing her studies, but now that she had the chance, she still wanted to finish her education.
She simply cooked a bowl of noodles to fill her stomach.
Going back to her suitcase, she took out her books, and sitting on the rug by the sofa, she started reading on the coffee table.
She didn’t dare to touch any important documents in the study lightly, even though Jasper Sinclair said this was her home too, after all, some boundaries had to be maintained.
