Chapter 27: Chapter 27: If You Won’t Admit It, I’ll Call the Police

"I’ve already said I didn’t do it. What evidence do you have to say it was me?" Spencer Ford argued, his face red with anger.

But inside, he was terribly anxious. The ring seemed valuable, and he planned to secretly sell it. Who knew he would get caught?

Could Jasper Sinclair not understand this? He curled his lips slightly and then took out his phone: "Since you don’t know either, why not let the police handle this?"

The Ford Family panicked the moment they heard this.

Quentin Ford knew all too well what kind of person his son was.

"Quickly check if it accidentally ended up in your pocket." He spoke of accidental actions while reaching into Spencer Ford’s pocket.

As expected, the ring was indeed in his pocket. Quentin Ford was furious. This foolish kid was so clumsy in his actions, and he got caught!

"I... It was just an accident."

"Since it’s an accident, let’s forget about it. It’s getting late; do you need me to call a car to take you home?"

Jasper Sinclair spoke with a forced smile. Quentin Ford dared not let him arrange a ride, hastily declining before leading everyone away.

This meal was truly humiliating beyond belief.

Even Nora Northwood couldn’t lift her head in front of the two of them.

As Raina Sinclair was leaving, she glanced at her and sighed: "You’re a good kid. Just live happily with Jasper."

At least in her eyes, this young girl seemed good, apart from her family being somewhat inappropriate in their actions.

"I understand, Aunt." she replied obediently.

Then, Raina Sinclair bent down to whisper something in her ear, causing Nora Northwood’s face to turn red as she stood awkwardly.

"Alright, I should go now. And this brat isn’t going to send me off?" She pointed at Jasper Sinclair with a stern look.

"Yes, yes." Jasper Sinclair stood up reluctantly to walk her out.

Outside the unit door, Raina Sinclair sighed and said: "When do you plan to tell Nora the truth? I don’t think she’s the type of person you imagine."

What she didn’t say was that if Jasper was indeed mistaken, he would be the one to bear the consequences.

After all, no one likes to be deceived.

"Let’s wait and see. It’s hard to tell now whether it’s genuine or an act."

Jasper Sinclair had his own thoughts. She wanted to advise him more, but instead, she sighed deeply with pursed lips.

"You’ll trip over Nora sooner or later."

She suddenly understood why their mom had said that back then. She truly looked forward to the day this brat regretted his actions.

"How could that happen." He sneered dismissively, unconcerned.

After seeing her off, he returned home.

In the span of that moment, Nora Northwood had already tidied up the living room, including the floor dirtied by Quentin Ford and the coffee table messed up by Spencer Ford.

"This carpet is a bit dirty; I’ll take it to the bathroom for a wash tonight." She said.

"No need, just throw it away and get a new one." Remembering his aunt’s words, he felt a twinge of irritation.

Just a vain woman, how could he possibly have a fall!

"Why throw it away when it’s still new? I could just wash and..."

"I said throw it away, so throw it away. I give you fifty thousand a month, and you can’t even buy a new carpet?"

Jasper Sinclair unintentionally raised his voice, seeing Nora Northwood’s pale face, he felt a twinge of regret.

What was wrong with him, snapping at her like that?

"I was just..."

"I understand." Her expression returned to normal, briefly smiling, she turned to the kitchen without waiting for his response.
