Chapter 46: Online Attacks

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Online Attacks

Aaron Lowell just found out what was going on. The photo from the flower shop clearly shows it was a customer.

But the way it’s being described makes Nora Northwood sound like a woman of ill repute.

Even Louis Hayes was said to be her lover, which obviously couldn’t be true.

He realized something was wrong and suddenly worried that Nora might see the message.

Coming out of the study, he was about to find her, but saw her sitting on the sofa, staring blankly at her phone. His heart sank, and he quickly walked over to take the phone from her.

"It’s all fake." She lifted her head in confusion to explain.

Her eyes, which usually carried a gentle smile every day, were now filled with hurt, which made Jasper Sinclair’s heart tighten.

He stepped forward and wrapped her in his arms, covering her eyes with his hand.

"I know, it’s all fake. You don’t have to worry about this, I’ve got you."

It was rare for him to be gentle, his tone softly coaxing the little woman in his arms, regardless of whether or not she was the cunning gold digger he thought she might be.

No woman should be slandered and insulted like this!

His palm gradually became wet as the sound of her sobs and sniffles arose, and his heart ached even more.

"I—I didn’t do anything like that, but nobody believes me."

Online, people were making a big deal out of nothing, and upon seeing such posts, the comments started to run wild.

[What flower shop owner, I know this woman, she’s Technician No. 108.]

[I’ve seen her too, she was really affectionate with an old man, made me jealous, just a pity that I’m broke.]

[Someone this pretty living in such a good neighborhood, can’t be doing anything legitimate.]

[...]

The comments below were full of unbearable things, and even Jasper, a grown man, found them hard to stomach.

"Let me handle this matter, you just rest at home for a few days."

His expression was not good, wondering which fool dared to do such a thing; he needed to find out who was so reckless!

Nora cried herself to sleep, having taken on two big projects in a row recently, her body was already exhausted.

Looking at the woman asleep in his arms, he smiled helplessly and carried her back to her room.

Seeing the tears still hanging from the corners of her eyes, he went and got a damp towel from the bathroom to wipe her face.

When she woke up again, Nora only felt her eyelids were a bit sore.

Sitting up while rubbing her temples, she took out her phone to check the time and saw the message Jasper had sent her.

"Rest at home for two days, I’ll handle everything."

His tone matched his usual cool demeanor, with a hint of command, but the words were caring.

With the corners of her lips turned up, she felt a little less uncomfortable inside.

Just as she was getting up to go to the bathroom, Lily Sloan called: "Nora, the news online..."

She hesitated, unsure how to express herself, afraid of upsetting Nora.

"I already know. I might need to rest at home for a couple of days, don’t worry about me. The flower shop doesn’t need me for now." Her voice, when comforting her friend, already carried a tinge of emotion.

Only then did Lily breathe a sigh of relief: "Don’t worry, leave the flower shop to me. I never thought someone would slander people like this. If I find out who spread the rumors, I’ll tear their mouth apart!"

The remark made Nora laugh out loud.

Seeing that Nora seemingly wasn’t affected, she finally relaxed.

"By the way, someone contacted me earlier, wanting to discuss something about sachets, seems like they want to collaborate with us for promotion."
