Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Just Passing By to Check In
Finn Linden raised his eyebrows and downed his drink in one gulp.
He looked at Wendy Bell with an obscure expression.
"I’m not really sure, after all, I haven’t even met her myself." He crossed his hands behind his head and leaned lazily against the sofa’s backrest. "Why, are you interested?"
"Why would I be? Sinclair is already married; I can’t destroy someone’s family."
Her expression was earnest, leaving no room for criticism.
But who was Finn Linden? In the vast Linden Family estate, uncles and brothers were tearing into each other’s faces; he’d seen all kinds of open and covert struggles.
Wendy Bell’s little schemes were really not worth mentioning to him.
He moved closer, pinched her chin, a look of disdain flickered in his eyes.
If you looked closely, he wasn’t much worse than Jasper Sinclair, it’s just a pity he was a playboy.
However, his mind was clearer than anyone’s.
"Be sure to remember, this isn’t a warning, but Jasper hates people like you the most. He doesn’t enjoy tasting tea, unlike me. I have time to slowly play with you, so be smart and figure out who you should provoke and who you shouldn’t."
After speaking, he let her go, picked up the clothes beside him, and left.
Wendy Bell just felt that her blood was flowing backward, her face pale as anything, not daring to take even a breath just now.
Shouldn’t she covet Jasper Sinclair?
As she calmed down, her ambition once again overcame her reasoning.
How would she know Jasper Sinclair didn’t like someone like her if she didn’t try, besides, what talks of love when he didn’t even want to reveal his identity.
Since he simply needed a nominal wife, then why not her?
With a cold laugh, she drank the wine in her cup in one shot; though no one yet knew who that mysterious woman was, she wasn’t in a hurry.
After all, she was going to The Sinclair Group next week for work; taking it slow, she would eventually find that lucky woman.
"But, perhaps luck won’t be on her side soon." She snickered and got up to settle the bill before leaving.
A few days later, the sachet designed by Nora Northwood suddenly became a hit online; leaving aside whether its effectiveness was as advertised, merely the handcrafted embroidered sachet packages were enough to attract people.
The exquisitely lifelike little rabbits, adorable pigs, each looked different, clearly hand-stitched.
The sachets indeed had a calming and soothing effect as advertised, not overpowering, the faint fragrance brought feelings of relaxation.
"It’s fantastic!" Lily Sloan hugged her friend excitedly.
"You mentioned your aunt occasionally gets headaches; take this sachet back to her, it will help alleviate her headaches."
Nora Northwood patted her little head.
She hadn’t expected it to become such a hit, but now issues had arisen.
Originally, she used embroidery as an outsourcing due to her hobby, but now with more buyers, hand-stitching couldn’t keep up.
She needed to discuss this with Tanya Stewart.
As the two were speaking, Aaron Lowell suddenly appeared outside the doorway.
"Uncle?" Lily Sloan was a bit stunned, wondering why her uncle wasn’t at the company but had come here in broad daylight.
"My client is in this area; I finished the contract and just happened to stop by to see... you all." With a light cough, he suppressed the thoughts in his heart.
He was afraid saying he came to see Nora Northwood would scare her.
Lily Sloan, accustomed to being carefree, didn’t think of anything else.
"Oh, wow, you even know to bring us cake?"
Hugging the box of ice cream cake, she opened it with delight, but upon seeing the strawberries on top, her shoulders slumped instantly.
"What’s wrong?" Aaron Lowell, puzzled, walked over and ruffled her little head.
