Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Netizens Who Refuse to Pay
"It’s Rachel Woodward." Nora Northwood’s voice was very soft.
The answer surprised Jasper Sinclair a little.
He thought that Rachel Woodward, who held herself in high regard, wouldn’t stoop to such underhanded tricks.
It seems he had overestimated the Woodward Family.
Afterwards, Jasper Sinclair brushed Nora Northwood’s stray hair and tucked it behind her ear, then said, "Let’s talk in the car."
The pure black Maybach cruised smoothly towards Southwood Court.
The man’s clearly articulated fingers swiped a few times on the car’s display screen, and a gentle, melodious violin piece slowly flowed out from the speakers.
On the way, Jasper asked, "How do you plan to handle this matter?"
Nora stared at the button on his sleeve for a long time before speaking firmly, "Pursue legal proceedings."
Originally, Nora hadn’t planned to hold someone accountable at all costs.
One event after another made her realize that continual tolerance only enables bad people to take inch after inch.
Jasper’s tone was equally cool, "Tomorrow, I’ll take you to meet Lawyer Shepherd."
"Send me the location of the law firm to my phone, I’ll handle the talk myself."
"Okay." A rare cheerful expression appeared on Jasper’s face; it seemed the girl had truly grown.
The next day, in the morning.
Nora’s petite figure appeared at the law firm, where Lawyer Shepherd had been waiting for some time.
"Madam, I need to understand some aspects of your family’s information. If it involves internal conflicts, I hope you don’t mind." Talking about work, Lawyer Shepherd became much more serious.
"Okay."
For the next half hour, Nora recounted the May Lawrence incident in full.
Lawyer Shepherd provided different types of solutions and let her choose for herself.
Nora squinted her pale eyes slightly, "Criminal case." She chose the type with the most severe penalty outcome.
"Okay, next, what we need to do is gather evidence."
"The evidence is expected to be collected within three working days, and we’ll file charges by the end of the month."
Lawyer Shepherd spoke excitedly, with a hint of joy in his voice, as if about to accomplish a great task.
The two sides discussed for nearly the whole morning, and Nora used the law firm’s printer to compile all visible evidence into a document and print it into hard copies.
As for the instigator of this matter, they still didn’t know what kind of blow they were about to receive.
At noon, Jasper Sinclair picked Nora up for lunch.
In the enclosed private room, Nora leaned weakly against his shoulder.
Taking this opportunity, Jasper probed, "Did the talks go smoothly this morning?"
Surrounded by the unique masculine fragrance, Nora thought for a moment and replied, "Fairly smooth."
"That’s good."
Nora looked up and met Jasper’s eyebrows eyeball-to-eyeball; the distance between them was almost nonexistent, and she faintly saw the fine lines at his eye corners.
She asked, "If I send my biological mother to prison, would you think I’m a really bad person?"
"In my eyes, Nora has always been a very kind girl. No matter what decision you make, I’m always on your side to support you."
As warmth breathed out, Nora only felt her cheeks tingling numbly.
She wrapped her arms around the man’s waist from behind, feeling quite touched, and said, "Thank you, Jasper."
Nora knew very well that although she always refused Jasper’s help, without him, some things wouldn’t have been resolved so quickly.
Jasper displayed a faintly smiling expression and once again touched her forehead lightly, like a dragonfly skimming the water.
