Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Chaos at the Dining Table
Spencer Ford spoke and sat on the sofa like a lord.
Mrs. Walker frowned, not liking this kid: "Young Madam is still resting. She was tired yesterday, so it’d be best not to make noise."
"Hmph, a mere servant of the house dares to speak to me like this? I’m your master!"
Spencer Ford flared up, and instead stood up; Mrs. Walker couldn’t be bothered with this clueless brat.
Anyway, with Jasper at home, he will naturally handle him.
She shot him a glare and turned to the kitchen; surely Young Madam didn’t eat much yesterday, she needed to quickly cook the porridge.
Seeing that Mrs. Walker was ignoring him, he spat: "What the heck, does she think she’s the master?"
May Lawrence felt it wasn’t right and couldn’t help but speak up to advise him.
"Spencer, we’re just staying temporarily, isn’t your behavior a bit inappropriate?"
She intended to have Spencer Ford restrain himself, but as soon as she finished, Spencer Ford lashed out at her,
"Who the hell do you think you are, daring to lecture me. Do you really think marrying my dad makes you my mom? Are you worthy?" Spencer Ford spoke coarsely, giving May Lawrence no face at all.
Mrs. Walker watched with disdain toward May Lawrence, thinking Spencer was merely a stepchild, yet she had to please him to such an extent.
Seeing that Nora Northwood hadn’t come out after a while, Spencer Ford got a bit impatient and decided to use this time to pick his room.
He checked two guest rooms and shook his head in dissatisfaction.
Opening the last room, he nodded in satisfaction, but the next second a cold male voice rang out, "Get out!"
Jasper Sinclair, wiping his hair, came out of the bathroom, his eyes coldly fixed on Spencer Ford.
Moments ago, he was so imposing outside, but now he became like a mouse before a cat, not daring to speak much.
Obediently, he closed the door and returned to the living room,
"What happened?" Nora Northwood, just inside drying her hair, didn’t hear anything.
"Nothing, let’s go out for breakfast."
Having changed his clothes, he wrapped his arm around Nora and left.
In the living room, Spencer Ford and May Lawrence were sitting at the table, looking as if it was their right.
Jasper Sinclair didn’t say much, just calmly walked to the table and nodded to Mrs. Walker to start serving breakfast.
Spencer Ford didn’t dare to provoke him but felt still annoyed about the morning incident.
He thought it over and could only take it out on Nora Northwood.
"Why didn’t you come out to greet me this morning, didn’t I call you?" His tone was accusatory, as if Nora had committed some unforgivable crime.
He noticed Jasper wasn’t going to speak,
His confidence grew; seems this woman’s status in this house isn’t great.
With a sneer, he spoke even more freely: "My dad said you must serve me well here, or else you’ll pay for it when we get home."
Seeing Nora not responding, he got anxious, picking up a bowl of porridge intending to throw it.
Jasper Sinclair, quick as lightning, caught his wrist before Spencer could spill it.
The hot porridge spilled entirely on Spencer Ford, missing its mark.
Boiling porridge burned him, making him scream, and he looked at Jasper Sinclair, suddenly bold.
"Brother-in-law, what are you doing!"
"That title ’brother-in-law,’ you aren’t fit to use it; at home, you are to call me President Sinclair." He calmly wiped his hands and then cleaned the splattered soup off Nora.
Spencer Ford planned to say something, but a look from Jasper made him instantly lose his temper.
Throughout, even when Nora nearly got burned, May Lawrence didn’t say a word.
