Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Spencer Ford Moves In
Jasper Sinclair called the family doctor from the old house to come directly to their home for a check-up, specifically telling them not to let the old lady know.
Otherwise, she would inevitably worry.
After the doctor arrived and checked on Nora Northwood, he found nothing wrong.
"Just rest more, it’ll be fine. No need to be too tense."
The doctor left some medication to soothe nerves, as he softly spoke to Jasper Sinclair while looking at the already sound asleep Nora.
"The Young Madam’s current condition needs rest, her mood might be affected, if it gets severe, then give her this medication, but if there’s no major issue, try to avoid the medication."
Jasper nodded and let the doctor leave, looking at the small woman curled in the blanket, sleeping very restlessly.
The anger in his heart intensified.
He even thought about rushing to face Christian Quinn directly and disabling him!
In her sleep, the little one seemed unstable, sometimes mumbling cold, sometimes waking with a shock.
Throughout the night, he held her in his arms, holding her till the next morning.
When Nora woke up, she still felt a bit unreal, unable to shake off the scene like a nightmare.
Fortunately, Jasper came to her rescue afterward.
Thinking of this, her nose tingled, almost bringing her to tears.
The warmth around made her realize she was out of danger.
She turned and nuzzled her face against his chest.
"Stop it." His voice was a bit hoarse in the early morning. He planned to hold her for a little longer, but the little one kept nuzzling in his embrace.
If he kept pretending to sleep, then it would change the atmosphere.
Blushing, she playfully punched his chest, the unhappiness in her heart dissipated.
Just as she was about to speak, the phone beside her rang.
Seeing May Lawrence’s call, her eyes darkened for a moment.
"What’s up, Mom." Her voice was calm and emotionless.
"Nora, here’s the thing, your brother and I are at the entrance to your residential area, can you come down..."
"Stop hemming and hawing." Spencer couldn’t take it anymore and quickly grabbed the phone: "Come down and get us, it’s so hot, I’m about to die from exhaustion."
After speaking, he hung up the phone, waiting to be served like a lord.
Jasper’s face darkened. Normally, he would have had the patience to deal with these two, but after yesterday’s major incident, he just wanted to teach them a lesson.
"Don’t worry, if you drive them away now, they’ll make a bigger fuss, just stick to the original plan, I’m mostly alright now."
She took a deep breath, Quentin Ford is the type to never let go once he’s latched on.
Rather than being entangled by him, it’s better to strike first, leaving him no room to cling.
Jasper frowned and nodded.
However, picking them up was out of the question, he called the security to inform them to let the two come up on their own.
After about ten minutes, there was a loud knock on the door as if afraid others wouldn’t hear.
Thankfully no one was in the neighboring apartment, otherwise, such noise would surely cause dissatisfaction.
Mrs. Walker went to open the door, finding Spencer with an impatient expression.
"What took so long." Acting as if he were at his own home, he casually walked in, leaving his shoes to the side, showing no signs of embarrassment.
On the other hand, May Lawrence felt a bit out of place, carefully entering after greeting Mrs. Walker.
She looked around, her mind brewing some ideas.
She remembered the three thousand dollars from last time vividly, Quentin berated her pretty harshly.
"Where’s Nora? I said for her to come downstairs and pick me up, but I didn’t see her at all? This is just getting more
and more out of line."
