Chapter 107: Chapter 107: There Are Still Plenty of Fools in This World
Annie sneered, Jade Lockwood had always looked down on her over the years.
But she had been polite to her just to maintain her image in front of Jasper Sinclair, and while the Anson Family wasn’t on par with the Lockwood Family, they weren’t insignificant.
"Did you come to see me for something? Oh, right, what happened to that bitch later on?"
Jade suddenly remembered the main issue and turned around to look at Annie, her eyes filled with expectation.
After a moment’s pause, Annie casually said, "I saw her go back, but since you seem to be fine, it’s all good. I have some things to take care of, so I’ll be heading out first."
Having said that, she didn’t wait for Jade to say anything and got up to leave immediately.
Leaving the lounge, she headed towards the restroom, where several women who had stood up for Jade were standing in the hallway looking upset.
"That bitch actually dared to say that. Anyway, we have nothing to lose, so let’s just blow this thing open!"
The woman leading them was full of indignation; they might not have any illustrious background, but they wouldn’t stand for being insulted.
Annie walked over at this moment, raising her eyes to the few people in front of her.
Everyone had witnessed her fierceness just now, so they were still somewhat afraid of her.
"What... what do you want to do?" they looked at Annie defensively.
"I don’t want to do anything. I’m just here to tell you to pretend like nothing ever happened, and I’ll make sure justice is served for you in due time."
Annie also looked down on people like Jade Lockwood, but just creating a scene was too easy on her.
Jade’s birthday was coming up in a few days, and someone like her would definitely throw a big party; that would be the perfect time to give her a grand gift.
The few people looked at each other, unsure if they should believe her words.
But when they saw her twisting her wrist and looking over, they wisely nodded.
Forget it; a wise man doesn’t suffer immediate losses. They’ll find another chance to teach that woman a lesson in the future!
Although they felt uncomfortable, they could only leave reluctantly.
Playing with her phone, Annie glanced disdainfully at the direction of the lounge before turning to leave the banquet.
She arrived at Nora Northwood’s new studio and couldn’t help but be pleasantly surprised.
The previous little flower shop was nothing compared to this place, like night and day.
The first floor was a small shop open to the public, with several girls currently selecting ointments while a young employee enthusiastically and expertly introduced the products to them.
Climbing the stairs to the second floor.
This was a small office area with not many staff members, just four including Nora.
"Annie, you’re here!"
Nora looked over with excitement, her wet clothes having been changed already.
As for Annie’s promise to avenge her earlier, she didn’t take it seriously.
"Nora, your studio is really impressive! But the rent here must not be cheap, right?"
"It’s alright; my husband introduced me to this storefront, and they only charged three thousand for the first month."
After she said that, Annie’s jaw dropped, almost enough to fit an egg. Three thousand a month? What a bargain.
Just given the location alone, six thousand a month would be considered cheap.
Tut-tutting, she couldn’t help but sigh, "There really are fools in this world."
Meanwhile, at The Sinclair Group, Finn Linden inexplicably sneezed a huge sneeze.
"Jasper, isn’t the air conditioning in your office a bit too strong?" Rubbing his nose, he hurriedly draped the jacket from the sofa over himself.
Jasper Sinclair couldn’t be bothered to pay attention, lifting his head to address the real issue: "Quit with the nonsense, how’s that investigation I asked you to do going?"
Finn curled his lip; even though he was being asked for a favor, the attitude was still so unappreciative.
