Chapter 108: Chapter 108: The Feeling of Being Relied On by Her
"Your little wife really has nothing wrong, you’re just overthinking it. If you really care about her, you better make things clear quickly; it’ll be good for both of you. Otherwise, be careful it might end up unresolved."
Finn Linden nagged like an old woman and repeated it once more.
In the past, Jasper Sinclair would have surely told him he was worrying for nothing, but this time he uncharacteristically remained silent.
"I know, it’s just..." He felt a bit uncomfortable inside, not knowing why.
"Okay, okay, you have your own considerations." Finn didn’t push further.
He knew his friend was affected by past events, so he didn’t say more about it.
"By the way, the task you gave me earlier is almost done. The ten thousand dollars are in hand. How are you planning to handle it?"
Previously, Jasper had suddenly asked him to hang around a neighborhood, and even had him arrange for a child to damage his car, ultimately making someone pay for it.
At first, he thought Jasper was being quite nasty.
But after learning how Nora Northwood was scammed out of ten thousand dollars, he just felt he had asked for too little.
He waved his hand, "Just consider it compensation for your car."
He got up, grabbing his coat and heading out, seemingly lost in thought.
By the time he arrived at Nora’s place, Annie had already left.
At this moment, he happened to see Aaron Lowell treating his wife with a flattering attitude. He pressed his lips, feeling displeased, and quickly walked over to them.
"Nora, I brought this perfumer specially for you. I know you’re interested in establishing your own brand now, and you can’t handle it all by yourself..."
Nora Northwood looked embarrassed. She had already rejected for quite a while; the perfumer’s values didn’t align with hers and simply wouldn’t fit in.
"No need. I’m not expanding to that extent yet; keeping her here would be a waste of her talent."
But Aaron acted as if he didn’t understand, still persuading her to keep the person.
Because Lily had already mentioned it to her, Nora found Aaron increasingly uncomfortable, especially knowing he was interested in her.
Just at that moment, Jasper Sinclair arrived, and she suddenly felt relieved, running over to him.
His lips subtly curved up for a moment, and he had to admit, the feeling of being depended on by this little one wasn’t bad: "What’s up?"
Aaron’s face fell immediately when he saw him.
The woman at the side felt Jasper looked slightly familiar, but couldn’t quite place where she’d seen him before.
Clicking her tongue, she couldn’t help but think how lucky this woman was to have two such handsome men around, especially the latter who didn’t seem to be an ordinary person.
"Nothing, why did you come over suddenly?" Nora shook her head and intertwined her arm with Jasper’s, pretending to be intimate to make Aaron lose hope.
"I finished work early today, so I came to pick you up." He patted her little head and spoke softly.
When no one else was looking, he gestured subtly towards the back.
When Nora looked at him, he returned to normal again.
"Then wait for me a moment." Jasper’s arrival was a relief for her. She turned to Aaron: "There’s no need to trouble you, uncle. My husband already contacted a designer for me last time, and my current demand isn’t that high. I can’t afford to keep two designers."
She didn’t want to be too harsh, but having said so much, Aaron should probably get the hint.
Sure enough, his expression fell for a moment when she had just finished speaking.
"In that case, just reach out if you need anything in the future."
