Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Making Her Step Down
Nora Northwood heard her words and didn’t get angry, nor did she feel embarrassed.
Today she wore a quicksand blouse, with wide-leg dress pants, looking both capable and lovely.
Even Wendy Bell had to admit.
In contrast, she now appeared completely haggard, being pressured and pregnant.
The malicious seed in her heart slowly sprouted; she even wished Nora would drop dead, so maybe Jasper Sinclair could see her.
"Indeed, I didn’t know the types of coffee beans before, but after the studio opened, these were essentials during meetings, so I learned about them."
Nora did not deny her shortcomings, making Wendy’s little scheme appear trivial.
She bit her teeth hard, and her hands clenched tightly.
"Nora, I’ll be honest, I’m pregnant with Jasper Sinclair’s child. You two have no marital feelings, so why not fulfill me and the child? The child is innocent and shouldn’t be born without a father."
Wendy spoke with tears streaming down.
In her opinion, Nora was a girl with a soft and kind heart, hearing this would surely upset her.
Who would’ve thought Nora merely set down her mug and sat on the single sofa in front of her.
"How do you know we have no marital feelings?" Her voice carried no emotion, just calmly watching Wendy, as if trying to see through her: "Besides, I made it clear last time, if you’re truly pregnant with Jasper’s child, go tell Jasper. As long as he agrees, I won’t interfere."
"You..."
"You say the child is innocent, but if you force this on us, are we not innocent?" Her red lips curved into a mocking smile: "After all, you clearly know whose child it truly is."
Nora trusted Jasper; since he’d said it was false, then it was false.
With her words, Wendy’s expression became evasive.
"If you don’t want to step aside, then give me five million, and I’ll naturally take the child and leave, not disturbing you."
She decided to settle for less; even if she couldn’t have the Young Madam spot in the Sinclair Family, she had to get the money pronto, although she said it, she didn’t want to die.
Nervous fingers curled up, she didn’t even dare raise her head.
The current Nora was completely different from before, merely sitting there made Wendy unconsciously timid.
Such aura was something she didn’t possess now.
The room suddenly became quiet, and she wasn’t sure what this woman meant.
In the next second, Nora let out a mocking laugh: "Step aside? I married Jasper Sinclair, a relationship recognized by law, what stepping aside are you talking about? As for this money, I won’t give it. After all, it’s not my husband’s child, I’m no fool, or you can provide evidence proving it’s indeed his illicit outcome."
Wendy’s eyes shifted, suddenly thinking of a malicious plan.
She just started to get up, not yet moving, when Nora saw through her intention.
"I have cameras here, even if you accidentally fall, they will still faithfully record everything, and then you won’t be able to explain it."
She was no longer the previous Nora, she could see through whatever schemes this woman planned.
Trying to frame her and then extort money?
No matter what, she wouldn’t let Wendy get her wish.
The atmosphere briefly turned awkward, Wendy flushed with anger, looking at her with some annoyance.
"If that’s the case, don’t blame me."
Determined, she stood up and left, refusing to further humiliate herself here.
