Soon Lin Muyu came back, holding a few green leaves in her hand. She said, "Here, smell this. If you find the smell strange and feel like vomiting again, then it means you are really pregnant."

Because truly, if Xuyu had told her earlier, it would not have felt this magical. The surprise, the excitement, the joy of knowing for the first time—she would have missed all of that.
She smiled warmly. "Thank you, Xuyu," she said softly.
But the "thank you" wasn’t only for the gift. It was for everything—for bringing her into this world where she could feel alive again, where she could dream of things she never had before.
When she had just arrived here, she had never thought something like this. She was only ready because living was still better than dying. If she had refused Xuyu’s offer, then she could only return back to her world, where she had long died.
Xuyu’s voice replied gently, "Anything for you, host."
